Sports Activities and a Mommy's Temecula Wine Trip!.. (Week 322/184)

I love the Fall, except when it is blazing hot.  But the holidays are just around the corner, and I can't wait.  LOVE Christmas time!

We had a playdate with Katelyn's friend Maddy from school yesterday and the girls weren't in a photo taking mood.  But they both were on Monday at school!  They're super close in age but Katelyn still has a couple inches on her.

Food always tastes better when your brother feeds it to you.  These were yummy fish meatballs my in-laws had made.

Tyler and his friends after school this week.  Don't ask what they're doing because it looks weird, but they were having a blast doing it!

Soccer practice on Tuesday.  We try to go early sometimes so the kids can play in the park beforehand.  Brought dinner for them as well.  Practice is so late though (6pm!) that I don't foresee bringing Katelyn too often.  Plus by then I'm exhausted!

The problem with having a team full of friends from school- they know each other so well and like to goof off!  They're a rowdy bunch of boys that'll need to get serious if they want to win any games.  This practice was not too productive though.

Tyler wrote me a little note the other day while we were visiting the in-laws.  Of course the tiger mom that I am, I had him correct all the spelling mistakes.  So cute though!

Thursday I met up with my friend Hanna and we took a trip to the jewelry district in downtown LA to see her jeweler.  I wanted to see about getting a new ring setting for my engagement ring, but left with a little birthday/anniversary gift for myself.  (!!)

Bonnie picked up Tyler for me that day from school so we didn't have to rush back.  She took the boys with some of the other moms for a frozen yogurt playdate.  Then she found the next picture on her phone when Jordan was randomly taking photos.  Love Tyler and Jordan together!

Thursday afternoon was crazy.  I picked up Kendall from school and she was excited to see Katelyn's school (same owner/company, just different location).  We stayed a bit at Bonnie's before we headed to Tyler's soccer skill's training session at 4pm.  Then we had to leave early (as soon as Will got there) to get the girls over to ballet at 5:15pm.  Too crazy rushed, not doing that again!  At least the boys got in some park time afterward with Will.

My little ballerina!

Friday after school I picked up Jordan while Bonnie (and a bunch of the other moms) went to downtown LA for a crazy Lululemon sale.  It really was crazy!  Good thing I'm not a big fan.  The boys were excited to get popsicles.  Then took Tyler and Jordan to a nearby park to kill some time before we picked up Katelyn.

Last minute notice- Will's parents realized their plane for Europe left Friday late night 1am instead of Saturday late night 1am!  Took them to dinner at the Spectrum at Cucina Enoteca.  Of course they were not too impressed.  The kids really liked the pizza there though, Tyler scarfed his down quick! ... and then threw up when we were walking back to the car.  Hmmmm...

We dropped off Will's parents and were driving home when we passed the basketball courts at Woodbury East.  Saw some friends there playing and stopped by to say Hi.  Ended up staying until it was too dark to see!  Tyler loves basketball and playing with his friends.  Katelyn must have been on some sugar high because she was CRAZY - running around laughing and giggling even when there were no other little sisters there.

Saturday morning - Game 2 for the Red Dragons.  Game was at 12:40pm, worse timing for us since Katelyn naps.  Plus it was blisteringly hot.  I stayed home and Will took Tyler.  Didn't miss much since the kids got beat 0-8.  OH MAN.  Got a stern email from the coach after that about the kids goofing off.

Saturday afternoon I took Katelyn in to our Kumon center to get her tested.  She really wants to start Kumon but it's just so much $$ on top of Tyler's tuition.  She has this thirst for knowledge though that Tyler never had.  I feel like it would be a disservice to not let her start.

They even got some backyard playing time in.

Sunday!  Big fun day planned.  My wonderful mommy friends got together for a wine trip out to Temecula to celebrate my birthday a couple weeks early.  We had a groupon deal for a limo service for up to 8 for 6 hours.  So sweet of them even though I kept trying to insist to let me pay my portion and I was just happy we could all get together.  We met at 10am at a nearby park, only to find that our limo that was supposed to be had changed to a "party bus" but was in reality...a 15 passenger van!  We were not thrilled.  But after the first winery no one really cared anyway!

Lots of fun, lots of really tasty wines (seriously, if I knew that wine could be this tasty I would have started drinking it much earlier!).  Lots of fun!

By the time we got back in the afternoon we were all tired and happy.  Still a really fun day though.  I got dropped off and seriously fell asleep on the couch the moment I got inside.  True sign of a good day! :)
