Sangris, Girl's Night Out, Swim Meet and Farmer's Market!.. (Week 314/176)

Hello!  We're about a week away from school starting, so strange that the Summer is only 5 weeks but we're excited about starting 1st grade!

We'll start off with a smiley pix of Katelyn.  Love the time we spend together.

She's making new friends at school which is great to see.  She likes to wave bye to me through the gate as I leave.

On Thursday I met up with some girlfriends for lunch at Corner Bakery at the Marketplace.  Brought Tyler along since his Godmother Trina was coming.  He's always so excited to see her!

Cutie ballerinas.

Friday I watched the kids practice a little mini lion dance at Tyler's Chinese Summer school.  Cracks me up, all the instruction is in Chinese but there's still a lot of shuffling and bumping.  Tyler's the butt of the dragon and Jordan is in the middle.  I'm so glad Tyler and Jordan did this camp together!

BFFs!

Grabbed coffee with my friend Connie that morning (whoops no photo) and then somehow made an impromptu Sangria at Bonnie's place.  We had been texting about it that morning and decided to just do it!  Found a recipe online that was supposed to mimic this delicious sangria we had at CPK and went from there.  It was strong and delicious!  Katelyn and Tyler played with Kendall and Jordan while we were hard at work.  Took it home and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours before we headed to Friday Night Football with a big cooler and cups.  It was a hit with the adults!

Soocer!  Katelyn is into it!  Whoohoo!

...and then not too into it anymore.

Afterward we headed to Chick Fil-A with some families for dinner.  Of course Katelyn is all smiles now.

Saturday morning, swim meet at Turtle Rock!  Will went early with Tyler to get set up and Katelyn and I came later.  He went early enough to get a great spot for our little tent, perfect for hanging out since the meets are so long.

Katelyn and I came a little later, but wanted to make sure we didn't miss Tyler's first event.  She was excited to come with me to get coffee and a muffin first and then we're ready to cheer on Tyler!  These swim meets can go until the afternoon, and the idea of Katelyn hanging out from 8am until then is not exciting.  Thankfully Will's parents agreed to watch her for us.  Whoohoo!  We planned to drop her off at their place later on in the morning.

Go Tyler!

Cheering on her big brother!

During the downtime, which there was a LOT of, Tyler worked on his Kumon.  Seriously, from 8am-1pm or so we're there, Tyler is probably in the water for a total of 10 minutes.  Crazy!

Tyler had 4 events that day: butterfly, backstroke, freestyle and a freestyle relay.  Busy!  It was our first meet that we stayed the whole time.

Last event for Tyler, the relay!  Super cute.  His friends Gray and Gavin were both on his relay team.  I thought they were all pretty equal swimmers, but BOY was I proven wrong.  It was the most hilarious relay race I had ever seen.  First was Gray, who swam the whole way without even putting his head in the water.  I think there was a lot of doggy paddling there.  Then the second leg was the girl in the pink cap who wouldn't jump into the water when it was her turn.  Like at all.  It took a while for her to finally start swimming!  Then the third leg was Gavin, who took a couple breaks on the lane line on his way over.  By the time Tyler jumped in, there was no one left swimming!  He was great though, he didn't stop and was quite speedy.  So proud of him!

After a quick nap in the car from the pool to the gym, Tyler was off to basketball practice!  I missed this game, and I was sad to hear that Tyler scored a basket which I didn't get to see!  Waaah.  I had picked up Katelyn and put her down for her nap so that she would be up in time for her birthday party.

We brought a gift for Will's mom for her birthday.

After naps we headed to Gymboree for Ava's 3rd birthday party.  Katelyn had a lot of fun with all her ICDC friends.

Had to book it out of there to get home in ready for dinner.  Met at my friend Taylor's house with Jen and Marj and we headed to Cucina Enocteca for dinner at the Spectrum.  DELICIOUS!   After dinner we hung out in some comfy lawn chairs and chatted until the wee hours.  Very tired the next day.

Sunday morning Will headed off to golf with his friends Anselm and Jeren.  Good for him to get a day off once in a while!

While the boys were golfing, we took the kids to the Great Park Farmer's market.  It was overcast that day but hot and muggy!  Kids had a fun time running around the field.  Then headed to Woodbury Town Center for lunch with everyone and the hubbies met us there.

Easy relaxing week!
