Monday - Disneyland with the girls! Headed out around 4pm with my friends Christine and Susy and their daughters Liv and Noemi. 4pm, so late in the day, amazed that I went at all. But it wasn't bad, as long as we expected it to be kind of crowded.
The girls had a GREAT time without their big brothers, and we did all girly rides. Katelyn is 3 in the middle, Liv is 4, and Noemi is almost 5! They all get along great, it's adorable.
Even went on Mr. Toad's Adventure for the first time.
Alice in Wonderland too. The girls occupy each other and the wait times don't feel so long. Of course my mommy friends and I are enjoying our own version of ice as we wait, haha!
We are really bad at taking pictures with the moms in it. Sorry Susy!
Roger Rabbit ride. Not a fan.
Whew, that was a fun day. The kids were nice and tired on the ride back to the tram. KK looks so content.
Tuesday was playdate time for Tyler and Jordan. Kind of sad that the year is coming to an end and our normal routine playdates will not be so routine anymore.
Crazy day of driving though. Dropped off Tyler after the playdate at Kumon, then dropped off Jordan at his home, then got Katelyn at her Montessori, then went back to Kumon to get Tyler (he wasn't done yet so we hung outside for a while).
And then... swim practice at 3:45pm! Whew, that was exhausting. Keep in mind I also volunteered in Tyler's class that morning too!
Wednesday Katelyn had her Chinese Preschool class. She's made good friends with her friend Ava, they are so cute walking around the yard together holding hands!
After Chinese school I had some time to kill before picking up Tyler so we headed to Da Luau for Katelyn's favorite - spam musubi. Bumped into a friend of Katelyn's from ICDC - Mia. Awww, she'll make new friends at her new school in no time!
Early pick up on Wednesdays, the kids were all over a cute tiny puppy a family had just adopted. So cute!
Off to swim practice that afternoon. Lounging over here. The team had their team photos that day, there were so many kids, all lined up by height!
After the team photo, I rushed us over to CPK to meet friends for a fundraising dinner. Will had a work dinner that night so I was on my own with both kids. There were a ton of families and all the kids sat together while the moms sat in another table. It was crazy rowdy. Not sure if I'm down to do that again, especially because I was trying to enjoy their delicious sangria!
After dinner the kids all ran around outside. The girls paused long enough to take a quick photo!
Thursday, Katelyn's back at Montessori. I spied on her from the other side of the gate. Slowly making some new friends, right?
Then met up for brunch at Layer Cake bakery with my friend Janet.
Friday morning Katelyn had a Father's Day performance at her school. I was busy taking Tyler to piano lessons while Will took Katelyn to school. It was so cute to hear them sing so many songs. Katelyn loves to sing and is very animated. She was really excited to show Will all the things she had made for him too.
I dropped Katelyn off at her Chinese preschool and met up with my friends Connie and Hanna for coffee at Seattle's Best.
At pick up for KK, my heart melted watching her walk around holding hands with Ava. They are so cute together.
Friday afternoon we headed to Playland Cafe for a free intro Lego course we had randomly won. The kids built and the moms chatted.
Friday night, date night with the Garners to see David Spade at the Improv at Spectrum. He was pretty funny actually!
Picked up the sleeping kids back at the Garner's. They love date nights as much as we do apparently.
Saturday morning was Tyler's swim trials. Our first 'experience' for a swim meet, even though it's just time trials they run it like an official swim meet. Thank goodness it was super close and down the street. I took Tyler there early in the morning while Will stayed home with a sleeping Katelyn. They start out by getting their events written on their arms with sharpies.
Then some quick warm up time.
Tyler was definitely a little nervous for his first event - butterfly! I was so proud of him though, he made it all the way across!
He was pretty exhausted though.
We were only able to stay for the first two events (butterfly and backstroke) and then we had to rush home and get the kids ready for Tyler's piano recital at 2pm. Tyler did great!
Will's parents came to watch Tyler's recital too, and afterward the kids went home with them. Why? Because Will and I had a crazy night ahead of us! With the kids already with the grandparents, getting ready to go was nice and relaxing, thank goodness. We met up at my friend Mary's house at 6:45pm ready for a long time of celebrating Mary's birthday. These moms are my Kumon mommy friends.
Yes, that's a long stretch limo. Fit 16 people in there comfortably!
First stop was M Grill, a Brazilian BBQ Restaurant in downtown LA. Delicious. Stuffed.
Then off to the club - Boulevard ? We are so not in the club scene! But we had table service so I can't complain (even though the vodka was TOTALLY watered down). Got home and it was past 2am. Exhausted. Will had to wake up early the next morning (Father's Day!) for an early tee time with another dad - Jeren. I have no idea how he managed to wake up in time.
Tyler had Chinese school that morning (the grandparents dropped him off) and Katelyn spent the rest of the morning with them. They were supposed to drop her off after they dropped off Tyler but they wanted to hang out more so I definitely didn't object! They took her to a Farmer's Market and apparently she loved trying all the samples. I had the morning to myself, a quiet morning to clean the house. Yay!
Happy Father's Day Will! To the bestest father in the whole word!
