Coming up quick to the last week of Kindergarten. 2 more weeks until Summer!
Disneyland has become a normal part of our everyday life now. How did that happen? The kids love it though, especially since we break up the boys and the girls. Monday afternoon we all headed out to Disneyland together with Susy and Christine (and their boys Brady and Nevan).
Brady and Nevan rode Matterhorn for the first time - Tyler's favorite! Love this cute protective stance of Nevan and Tyler.
We even rode the Winnie the Pooh ride! Hah! It was hot.
Silly boys on the tram on the way home.
Love these gals!
Worked out great that we went on Monday since Tyler didn't have swim practice (one day off a week!). On Tuesday Tyler wanted to walk home from the pool since he was all wet still. Yes, I drive there since we are always so rushed. I slowly followed them in my car afterward. OMG look how clean my dashboard looks - reminds me that I had gotten my car detailed on Monday!
On Wednesday we had a special treat, celebrating Kendall's 4th Birthday! The girls all met at the nail salon on Jeffrey/Trabuco and got their fingernails and toenails painted! Super duper cute. Katelyn's first time actually at a nail salon! She chose really sparkly colors (approved by me of course!)
Showing off her goods with Liv!
All the little girls. Kylee, Katelyn, Noemi, Liv, Avery, birthday girl Kendall and Mason! They're pretty much all the little sisters of the Kindergarten boy group. Super cute!
And one with the moms as well!
Afterward the girls played on the grass, it's so funny how differently the girls play vs the boys. Thank goodness I have a little girl!
Noemi and Katelyn. They are just too cute. Noemi's like the big sister Katelyn doesn't have! She's going into Kindergarten.
Back to swim!
Look who came to visit us? Vincent! Tyler's BFF from long long ago! They were visiting from Texas and we were so excited to have them stop by to hang out. The boys just picked up where they left off and ran off and played. It was so good seeing Julie too, my honest to goodness first ever mommy friend.
Thursday was the LAST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN. How did that happen? It was an early day for everyone so we had to get there at 8am (good practice since 1st grade on will always start at 8!). The parents all came and sat in on the classroom while the kids sang songs and stuff.
Then they did this thing where the kids had written things about each of their friends (anonymously?) and the teacher read those things to each of the kids as they sat up in front of the class. It was super cute. Tyler's friends said he was nice, smart, good at math, one even said that he lives in the same neighborhood since he saw Tyler at the pool (totally random) but my favorite one was that someone said Tyler is his best friend. Awwwww.
Videos of the performance:
Will headed to work afterward, but I'm glad he got to see the singing. The kids had a sport day afterward (crazy since it was SO hot!) and then we met them all at the park for lunch. I had volunteered to bring a picnic blanket. The kids scarfed down hot dogs and juice cups and ice cream. Whew!
Then it was back to school for dismissal. Here's Tyler with his Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Wang. She is super sweet.
Afterward we all headed to Woodbury with the boys. Silly boys.
Baby Ryland and Bonnie! He's SO cute!!
Can't believe the Kindergarten year is over. Tyler has made some great friends this year (so have I!) and I'm sad that the group will almost for sure be broken up next year in 1st grade. Hopefully we'll be able to keep the bonds that were made this year, even with the boys in different classes.
Thursday, after another quick switcheroo at the pool, Katelyn had ballet class. With the other moms in our little group we got Miss Marci a gift card to thank her. The girls love her! There was some confusion about if Katelyn was getting promoted to the next class, but it all got cleared up. She'll be moving up with her friends to Pre-Ballet 1 which meets at 5:15. Perfect since it doesn't cause any more rushing with Tyler's swim.
Thursday for dinner was our first monthly meeting with the ICDC crew! The NEW crew since it's Katelyn's friend. Ironic since we only established this since Katelyn stopped going to ICDC! Nevertheless, it was good seeing her friends. They've been friends for so much of their little lives!
Friday was Katelyn's last day of her OC Chinese Preschool. Super cute, they did little performances and we had a potluck. I have hope for KK learning Chinese!
It just so happened that Katelyn was wearing the same dress as Liv that day (she's in a class next door). How cute are they?
KK with her Chinese school teachers.
Friday evening. First day of ... Friday Night Football! We did this for Tyler last Summer and decided to do it for Katelyn this Summer. Not for Tyler though, since he would have swim earlier in the day and I didn't want him to be exhausted! Katelyn was so excited with her little shin guards and soccer cleats. She was totally into it!
Tyler got some goalie-ing in too, before the practice started.
Tyler didn't mind that he wasn't playing, he was hanging out happily in our little tent with Brady (who's little sis was playing too).
After practice, we headed over to Da Luau for dinner with my friend Yoko and Agnes and their kids.
Saturday morning, bright and early, Tyler's first official swim meet! Will got there early first with Tyler since Katelyn was still sleeping.
Good thing he got there early too, since he was able to get us a nice spot for our tent near the pool.
Downtime between races. I got to hang out on a lounge chair under an umbrella. Score!
Really proud of Tyler. Really proud!
Video of Tyler doing the breaststroke:
Katelyn and I left the meet early to go to her friend Thalia's 4th birthday party. It was a princess party with Snow White! Katelyn was excited to wear her Rapunzel dress.
Super cute, the kids all decorated mirrors with rhinestones.
Someone is vain.
OMG it was hot. I don't know what I was thinkng wearing a cardiagn.
Snow White finally made her appearance and the girls were super excited. It was the same actress that played Belle at Katelyn's party.
Video of the little girls:
Will brought Tyler over after his swim meet ended and he happily played with Xavi.
Guess where we're going next week? Tyler is very excited. He even drew a bathroom on the plane.
Sunday was a crazy day - we had booked the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience for the girls. They were going to be all dolled up as princesses! Here they are before.
I didn't want to bring a nice princess costume, just in case it got messed up that day. Katelyn wore her Ariel costume from last Halloween. Darnit, probably should have brought some different shoes!
They started out with their fairy godmother-in-training getting them ready.
Lots and lots and lots of hair spray.
Katelyn has such little hair I don't know how they were going to make it into a bun!
Then some magical sprinkle glitter..
Tada!
Video of KK seeing her makeover in the mirror:
It is hilarious to me how tiny Katelyn's bun is. They all had princess sashes and little backpacks as well.
Then we visited the princesses aftewrard.
Meeting Belle again:
Rode some rides...
Watched the Rapunzel show while we ate lunch...
Even was able to sneak Katelyn on to Star Wars for the first time (with the help of some rolled up socks in her shoes!).
Hilarious.
She loves Star Wars! So glad she was able to go on it.
Also got Tyler's swim team photos back this week. Check out his farmer tan!
