Another busy busy week.
On Monday I went to check out Great Foundations Montessori. Had looked into this preschool previously but hadn't been ready to pull the trigger before. It's closer to our home though and driving to almost the other side of Irvine for ICDC was starting to get to me - especially if Katelyn goes back full time! Really like the place, except that it doesn't have as much of a community / family feel that ICDC does. Katelyn liked it too. They had a spot available for her but needed to know by the next day. Ack! I hate being under the gun. Another con though - their curriculum only goes to 3pm every day. Extended care is an extra $100. We'll see.
Dropped Katelyn off at her Chinese preschool. Love watching her sing Chinese songs with her classmates. There's hope yet for her to speak Chinese!

Tuesday Jordan came over - the kids don't watch TV or play video games. It's only an hour+ of playing and they REALLY play. This week they dug up some horse/elephants and cowboy hats, haha!
Then they decided to build some sort of fort and chill behind it.
I was planning on turning in our 30 day notice for ICDC when I picked up Katelyn later that afternoon. I had wrote the letter and everything. Except then Vanessa, our favorite Pre-4 / ICDC teacher, texted me a sad faced photo of the two of them. Enough to make me second guess myself, especially since I had been full of anxiety all day! Postponed. Again.
Wednesday was just another day, except Katelyn was in a great mood when it came time to pick up Tyler (she's usually super grumpy). She played in the school yard and had me take photos of her with different expressions.
And look what she dug up that night - her crown from her birthday party! My little princess.
Thursday - ballet!
And then a delicious delicious dinner at Nanasan with my girlfriends Mariam and Jen. Which reminds me. This was the week that I had horrible horrible hives. Backing up a little bit, last weekend as we headed out to Vegas on Sat/Sun I noticed there was a little itchy rash going on along both sides of my chin. Some sort of allergic reaction but I tried to keep it in check but it was itchy! It slowly started getting better - Sunday I took some Benadryl (totally knocked me out!) and Tuesday night I took some more. I remember feeling like my whole body was kind of itchy when I went to bed Tuesday night...and I must have scratched all night while i slept because I woke up Wednesday COVERED in hives. All over. Angry red welts. My front, my back, my legs, my neck, EVERYWHERE! It was insane! I couldn't even take benadryl since I knew it usually knocks me out. Took a claratin that morning and it totally helped. I even went to the gym with Katelyn while Tyler was in school. But later that afternoon the hives returned with a vengeance. I didn't want to take a claratin because it was supposed to be 24 hr so I held off until I got ready for bed. It was back like CRAZY Thursday! Bought some Allegra and started antihistamine bombing. Claratin in the morning, Allegra in the afternoon, and Benadryl at night (as recommended by Dr. Jen) and it cleared up QUICK. Whew! But I'm remembering that Thursday night sushi dinner with them - angry hives that finally calmed down. Eeks! Not sure what could have caused it though, I didn't eat anything new, so who knows.
Friday was the last day before Woodbury's spring break. It was also the day of their jog-a-thon fundraiser as well as Tyler's kindergarten class's teacher Miss Muranaka's last day (she was a sub for our original teacher who had to take medical leave due to a cancer diagnosis). She's since gotten treatment and responded positively. Will be interesting after the break when she starts teaching. Here's Tyler and some of his school friends.
Miss Muranaka has been such a sweet teacher, the kids' teacher since week 6 of the school year!
Cute fund raiser idea. The kids were all excited to get their running on. Even though it was quite warm already!
Getting their warm up on.
Ready, set, go!

Hung out with the Garners while we watched the boys run. Katelyn was so happy to see uncle Stacy.
Afterward - otter pops for all the kindergarteners!
Katelyn had been great this whole time, but now she insisted on having an otter pop of her own. Except that they didn't want to give it to siblings since they didn't have that many. I was able to sneak her one and park her in a corner. Bad mommy example!
Goodbyes to Miss Muranaka!
To celebrate the start of spring break, a bunch of us moms headed over to Cypress Village park for a fun playdate. The kids had a great time! (Even with a last minute addition to the group that somehow scored an invite...)
Dinner that night: Shik do rak! I LOVE korean bbq. So bad.
Saturday we headed over in the morning to the Woodbury East Easter event. It was ok, and there weren't enough eggs for all the kids during the Easter Egg hunt! I think the Easter bunny was Hispanic as well - I accidentally bumped him and he had a heavy accent when he replied. haha!
Face painting!
Video of some park fun at the community playground:
Quick Target run with a cute flower head band.
Later that afternoon we headed to cheer on our friends at a baseball team at a nearby park. Super fun to watch and cheer, especially when my own kid isn't out there. All fun and no stress! Everything was great, except the horrendous nature of the girl's bathroom. Yuck! Traumatized am I.
Afterward we headed out to dinner with the Garners, Mutucs and Sundarams.
Katelyn was sad that her baby chick would be washed off.
Sunday we met up with Will's parents for a quick lunch at Lao Dong restaurant after Tyler's Chinese school.
Sunday afternoon we headed over to Boomer's to Jordan's birthday party. Super fun!
Bonnie and Jeren were busy with party duties so Katelyn and Kendall had a lot of fun playing together on the various little rides. Glad that Will and Katelyn came along with us!
As the other boys arrived, the kids got really excited to play together.
Laser tag! Tyler was nervous about playing while they waited in line, and when they actually got to the prep area he totally freaked out and was so scared. I think there were tears and trying to escape from me. Haha! I made him stay and afterward - he LOVED IT!!
At pizza time, Katelyn sat so well behaved at the table next to ours and ate a ton of watermelon. Love it! I felt like we were neglecting her a bit but she was totally fine!
Two of my friends (Linda and Susy) had birthdays that upcoming week so we celebrated with a glass of wine. Mine was quite tasty, it was pink and cold and fruity. I downed it like lemonade and then felt a little embarrassed!
Then it was time for the birthday cake! So glad that Tyler and Jordan have become good friends over this last year. What a difference a year makes!
Afterward the boys wanted to play laser tag again. This group right here of 6 boys are the boys that Tyler hangs out with in his kindergarten class. It was a great stroke of luck that these boys were all in the same class and all got along so nicely.
Then some go karting outside.
Time to say goodbye to the birthday boy! Group hug and picture before he left.
Whew, it's getting late. Next up, some miniature golf! Had an extra member of the group join us (I wasn't too thrilled but I grinned and beared it).
Katelyn even got a little pink ball. She was very excited about it.
Whew, busy week! Still playing catch up.
