Katelyn's Playdate at Disneyland!.... (Week 251/113)

Fun week this week!  I took Katelyn to Disneyland by herself for the first time!  The only times she's been there has always been with both Will/myself/Tyler so this day was just for her.

But first, I happened to pick Tyler up on a day that they had Jules the Music Guy come in to perform for them.  It's really cute seeing how much the kids are into them - I forget that they're still so young, only 4-5 and giggle at the silliest things!

On Tuesday my friend Paloma came by to visit before we headed out to dinner.  She used to work at Boeing with me but now works in San Diego.  I miss her, we had a lot of fun together in our younger fresh-at-Boeing days!  My friend Mariam came over too!  Oh yes, I'm remembering what happened to Katelyn that day.  When I went to pick her up, she told me "my tummy hurts, I need to see the doctor".  Huh?  She kept repeating it but I just shook it off since she seemed fine.  In the car though, after having a juice box, she was volcano Katelyn!  Fountains of peaches came pouring out of her!  Yikes.  There was a lot of cleaning up to do right after but she was fine - in fact she asked me for her snack as soon as I had carefully lifted her out of her carseat!

Big day Wednesday.  Katelyn was REALLY excited.  Here she is in the elevator, all smiles!  We got there early as well and got a sweet parking spot right next to the elevators.

I had been meaning to bring Katelyn by herself and it worked out perfectly since Harmony, one of Katelyn's friends from school, had never been!  Yoko (Harmony's mom) and I get along really well so we decided to take them together.  Since we've been there many times, we took it slow and easy.  Went on a handful of rides, but mostly took pictures with fairies and characters!  Of course, our one group shot comes super blurry!  Lame!

Our first ride of the day was Finding Nemo.  It's a young kids' favorite right? ... Katelyn enjoyed it but Harmony got really scared.  She didn't like the dark and was pretty adamant about getting out.  Yikes!

Then we went to see Mickey.  The kids loved watching the carrots get pulled down by the rabbit, they could have watched it all day I bet!

The biggest hit of the day was the teacups!  The girls LOVED it!  Thank goodness it wasn't too crowded that day since we got right back on them afterward.

Then we went ear shopping.

Look which one we chose!  They are so cute and sparkly, Katelyn liked wearing them (and hasn't worn them since.  Must remember to bring them with us next time we take her to Disneyland!).  The carousel was a hit too, we didn't even get off after our turn was over and just rode it again!

By 2pm we were EXHAUSTED.  Everyone!  Katelyn fell asleep in my arms as we were getting off the carousel the second time.  Yoko and I wheeled the kids over to Downtown Disney (Harmony finally napped) and had coffee and chatted.  She was smart in suggesting that we do that so that we wouldn't waste their naptime!

It was SO cold that day.  By the time the girls woke up and we got back on the tram to head home, I had Katelyn bundled up and wrapped in a blanket.  Love the cold weather though!  So happy that we got to go together, sometimes I worry that Katelyn doesn't get enough alone time.  She was so excited to tell Will and Tyler about her day!

On Friday my old coworker Lara came by to visit and we headed out for a couple drinks.  It was so good seeing her!

Then on the weekend we saw the in-laws.  We were supposed to go to our friend Chrissy's big 30th birthday party Saturday night but things were so out of control at home (think major misbehaving!) that we ended up missing it.  Sucked!
