This weekend I took time away from my studying to attend my friend Tiff's bridal shower. Tiff is one of my closest friends from high school and was one of my bridesmaids too (so many many years ago). Unfortunately I am a horrible bridesmaid this time around because of the timing of my tests. I was absolutely no help with the bridal shower planning (I picked up the cake and contributed $$ but that's it!), and am missing her Vegas bachelorette party because it is the same weekend as my second exam! Seriously! Anyway, I couldn't miss her bridal shower at least, so I spent a few hours on Saturday afternoon in Alhambra. It was a beautiful bridal shower - really made me realize how things have changed since I got married. (Side note: my wonderful parents actually gave me a ride up to Alhambra and back down to Irvine. This was super helpful since I was already sleep deprived and I didn't have to make the long drive myself!)
Some pictures of from the weekend. Fairy Katelyn! I am trying not to let the guilt get to me that I have planned absolutely nothing for Katelyn's 2nd birthday. I rationalize to myself that 1) I am way too stressed about my exams and 2) she had a wonderful first birthday party last year. We'll see if I can throw something together last minute in 2 weeks...
Katelyn really is a social butterfly. Her wings are perfect. The kids haven't seen my parents in over a month, since New Years I think (they were in Taiwan) but they picked up right where they left off. When Katelyn saw my dad drive up (they were riding bikes outside), she stopped and yelled "Gong Gong!!!!" and ran to hug him.
My brother also dropped by the morning of Superbowl Sunday - we now have a fancy new full length mirror thanks to him!

Sunday night - Will took the kids to a friends' Superbowl party. I stayed home and studied, studied and studied. Fortunately the party was right here in Irvine so I got to stop by later in the evening - it was a good study break - and then I went back and hit the books. The kids had a ton of fun with their friends and I was really bummed I was missing out on hanging out with friends. Here are some photos from that night.
This is Tyler with Ashley. Ashley was Katelyn's teacher in the Infant room last year, and is now Tyler's teacher in Pre-4. Katelyn really likes her.
