Chuck E Cheese Birthday Party and Go-Karting! (Week 219/81)

Fun this week!  Tyler was home sick with me last week, and this week Katelyn spent Wed-Thur-Friday with me at home due to loose poops.  I'm not sure if she ate something or what, but she seemed fine aside from a very low grade fever.  The poops (TMI I'm sure) were quite mucus-y which makes me think they were some sort of allergic reaction to the many foods that she is allergic to.  I did try to sneak her back to school on Thur (or was it Friday?) and I had to come get her after the school called.  Boo.  Oh - she is also getting her back molars in, so the loose stools could also be attributed to that (along with the excessive drooling).  Regardless, I got to spend some more quality time with my little K, even though I couldn't get anything done.

We spent a nice morning at a playdate in the park.  She quickly made friends with some boys she had never met before - they were a little younger than Tyler I think.  She felt right at home with them.  She must be used to thinking she's one of the boys when she plays with Tyler and his friends.  She was excited to find a map from the San Diego Wildlife Safari park in the stroller.

This weekend was picture day for Katelyn's 18 month photos.  Ok, so we're a couple months late, but better late then never, right?  This reminds me that I need to upload the photos from Tyler's 4 year photos and Katelyn's 18 month photo sessions.  How cute is K is this puffy little dress??

Here's Tyler and Mojo.  Mojo is much more relaxed these days.  He doesn't paw at our door anymore and drive us nuts in the middle of the night.

Saturday we went to a birthday party in Torrance for our friend Jeff/Joan's son Jake.  Wow, I didn't realize how much taller Jake is than Tyler.  Jake was turning 6 and I think its great how he and Tyler can play together so easily.  The party was at Chuck-E-Cheese's, which is like video game heaven for Tyler (we've only gone a couple times for birthday parties).

I love holding little babies!  This is Austin, he's only ~6 months!

Yummm... Tyler is looking quite longingly at the yummy home made cupcakes.

Buddies!

Why is it so hard to get a photo of both Katelyn and I looking at the camera?

The kids played an arcade bowling game that took forever - 10 frames per child!

It was a good time and I'm so glad we got to hang out with Joan and her kids.  Plus Tyler got in a major video game fix!  Happy Birthday Jake!

Here are some silly photos of the kids.  Katelyn is such a copy cat of Tyler.  Anything she sees him do, she'll do the same.  Anything from clapping to dancing to jumping up and down.  She loves him so much!  So when Tyler decided to wear a couple nets on his head as a hat, Katelyn naturally followed suit.

Kind of a random picture - Katelyn going down a slide at a park.  We visited the grandparents in Woodbury - the kids always like the extra attention and Will/I get some rest!  The kids also got to ride bikes at the park next door.

Ladies who lunch.  Had lunch with some of my mommy friends on Wednesday at Houston's.  We hung out, ate and chatted for almost 3 hours!  Ahhh.  I must enjoy this while it lasts. :)

Afterward Jen and I picked up our boys and headed over to Boomers for some Go-Kart Racing.  Totally last minute and unplanned - until we found out that they require shoes with backs in the carts.  I had flip flops on and they were pretty steadfast about their rule.  Amazingly, Jen easily convinced a fellow mom at the batting cages to let me borrow her shoes.  A M A Z I N G.  Tyler LOVED the go-karts.  He kept yelling Faster, Faster, FASTER!!  The karts are great, we sit side by side and we each have a steering wheel (although only mine actually works).  It was great fun and some good mommy-son time.

This week I also got to hang out with my friend Jen for movie night at her apartment condo's community movie theater.  They were showing "Up in the Air" which was quite appropriate since it was about people being laid off.  Sigh.  Still a great night to see my friend and hang out (FYI - these evening outings occur usually after the kids are all washed up and ready for bed!)

This picture I thought was funny since Katelyn was throwing a fit on the way down the hall at their school.  She is such a pretend crier!  As soon as her head teacher came out and said: "who's that crying!?  Katelyn, no crying in the hall", Katelyn immediately got up and stopped fussing.  That's power!

Here's a favorite photo of mine of Tyler and Mojo.  What a big boy he's becoming.

Video of Katelyn dancing to Glee - she loves to dance!:
