What a week. Last week was already a short week since the kids were home on Monday. Then Thursday Tyler was sent home first thing in the morning with a 102 fever. His fever persisted all throughout the weekend, even almost hitting 103 degrees. We kept him comfortable with ibuprofen and acetaminophen, and he was back to normal self when the drugs kicked in. Monday we decided to keep him home one more day to get back to his normal self. Having a break from school for that long was quite difficult, and Tuesday's drop off at school was quite challenging. Sigh. When I picked up Katelyn from school on Tuesday, she had a really bad diaper rash. Strange. She's never been really prone to those. Poor thing, she'd scream everytime we got near her with a wipe and we resorted to wiping with warm water washcloths. Wednesday morning Katelyn woke up screaming and crying at 4:30am (! that never happens!) because she had a loose stool and it must have really hurt. She ended up falling asleep when we were having breakfast. Will took Tyler to school and told the teachers that Katelyn would be in later in the day since she had a loose BM. Bad move! The head teacher called me right as I was walking into the school lobby to tell me that they couldn't take her until she had a solid poop. GREAT. Sigh. She still had soft poops the rest of the day, and it was probably a good thing that she was home with me so that I could give her a nice warm water cleanse each time. I wonder what's causing it (along with her angry diaper rash)!
Katelyn has 3 favorite things right now. Her pink blanket, her 2 lambies, and her stuffed bear. She's not as handy as Tyler is when it comes to dragging them around the house, so Will has started wrapping them all up to make it easier for her. It is SO cute because she LOVES to see all her loved items all wrapped up together. She'll pat the bear like it's a little baby and give them big hugs.
Saturday I headed up to Hacienda Heights (just down the street from my parents' place!) for my friend Joyce's birthday. I helped Will get all the kids in bed first so I missed dinner but met up with them at a KTV place. I haven't Karaoked in years! It was a lot of fun and I got to practice my Chinese too! Also there was a lot of soju involved as well. Good thing I didn't have to drive far and just spent the night at my parents' place (they're out of town but I have a cousin who is housesitting). Woke up super early to head back to Irvine though, since Will called to tell me Tyler had a really bad stomach ache and missed me.
Monday was Tyler's last day off from school - he was feeling much better so we decided to make use of our Knott's season passes. I knew we weren't going to spend too much time there since we're limited mostly to Camp Snoopy. Tyler had a great time though, and was even brave enough to go on the bus ride that he had cried on last time! Boy, it was hot though. We got there around 10am, and left by noon.
Straight from Knotts, we headed to Diamond Plaza in Irvine for lunch with Tyler's FAVORITE person in the world - Auntie Trina! He hasn't seen her since his birthday in early July and he's really missed her. Any time I would mention a surprise, or have him guess a person, he'd always immediately hopefully yell out "Auntie Trina???". He loves her so much! I have to remind him sometimes that his mommy loves him too! (Haha, jk!)
This picture came out really blurry but I love Tyler's hand placement. HAHA!
Tyler has really been into drawing lately, and I really need to try more to encourage his creativity. This one below is of mouse, with cheese and a TV. Also below him are train tracks with a train; and above are clouds.
Last Friday I took Will (and Tyler) to Gyu-Kaku for lunch. Tyler didn't have much of an appetite and watched movies on the iPad mostly but Will and I did the all-you-can-eat lunch special. Y U M. It was almost like a lunch date for us since Tyler was so engrossed in the iPad. This week I went back for dinner with a couple of my mommy friends. Kudos to the restaurant for letting us hang out for like 4+ hours! On Wednesday I had plans to get a mani/pedi with some of my other mom friends but since Katelyn was with me we ended up just hanging out with them. Doh, I forgot to get a picture of Katelyn's first girl's outing! :) I can't wait until she is old enough for us to go get pampered together.
Have a good week!
