Catching up! This is the week before my last week at work. Had a revelation last week and totally got out of the funk that I had been in. Weirdly, I don't even think I knew I was in a funk until I got out of it. Now I think I have my priorities straight and also a realization of what's important and what isn't. I'm feeling much better now and the outlook is bright. :)
This week we'll start out with some cute photos of the kids taking a bath. Baths take much longer than showers but Tyler likes playing in the water and Katelyn likes having a companion too.
Tyler's last day in Pre-2! Tyler wasn't supposed to move up to Pre-4 until September, and I wasn't too happy about this since the kids that he plays with all moved up in July. Those first few weeks of July were tough - drop offs especially. Tyler would protest and cry, and I didn't really blame him since his classroom was pretty much all much younger kids that had just moved up. I talked to the teachers as well as the school directors, and Will also voiced his concern, and (thank goodness!) a spot opened up in Pre-4 early and Tyler was able to make the transition to Pre-4 August 1st instead of September 1st. Whew! Here he is on the last day of Pre-2 with 2 of his teachers - Sheri and Deena. I got those potted rose plants 2/$5.00! What a deal!
We had started thinking of taking Tyler out of taekwondo - he was getting whiny about it and it was frustrating for everyone. My fault though, I admit, since he was probably feeling quite overloaded with all his Summer activities.
Dinner with the Garners at Stonefire Grill on Friday. Tyler and Kaden always have a lot of fun together, until Kaden gets a bit over-rambunctious... but Tyler is a forgiving friend.
Me and Jen! It's amazing how well we get along (even though our kids aren't always nice to each other!).
This weekend was also ICDC's End of the Year Party - can't believe another year has gone by already! Here's Katelyn with one of her infant room teachers - Ashley.
And here's Tyler with his favorite Pre-2 teacher Deena!
Katelyn is so girly!
There was a balloon animal booth - that guy was making balloons nonstop all day! Tyler liked his balloon sword.
It was quite hot.
Hydration break!
Katelyn with Stacy. She has taken quite a liking to him!
Katelyn is 7 months younger than Kylee but most definitely heavier.
Saturday evening we took Will's parents out to dinner at Honda-Ya in Tustin. We haven't been there for quite a while, and got there before they opened since I knew they would have long lines. Good thing we could put our name on the list posted on the door, and then headed across the street to walk around the nursery.
After I took a few pictures of Tyler, he decided that he wanted to be the photographer. He took the rest of these pictures that night! I really like this one that he took of Katelyn. She's much more receptive to his posing requests than to ours.
Tyler vision.
Tyler is getting more and more interested in practicing the piano. He's no Mozart but I'm happy that he is excited to show his "twinkle twinkle little star" to the grandparents. He gets really frustrated when Katelyn starts banging at the same time though.
Video of Tyler teaching Grandma how to play twinkle twinkle!:
Katelyn! Her hair is still quite light but my mom told me that my older sister had really light hair as a child too.
Silly faces!
We're starting to bring more and more toys over to the grandparents' Woodbury East house so that the kids have more to play with when we visit.
Ooh, you can see how hot it's been. This is Katelyn after waking from a nap - check out her sweaty hair!
Tyler's settled into Pre-4 quite well. Apparently he spent most of their free-open-time in there anyway! The boys are always excited to play computer games.
They're actually quite hidden in an indoor treehouse!
This is a cute video of Katelyn and Cheyenne doing flash cards. She's getting really close to talking, and has so many words!:
