ICDC Crew Holiday Party!!! (Week 179/41)

Loving the cold rainy weather.  Christmas is just around the corner!

We started this last week off with a visit to my favorite rotating sushi bar Sushilicious.  We may quickly become regulars here - I love going when I have a coupon or for their lunch special!  Tyler was really into watching the plates go around and around.

Katelyn liked getting in on the action at the restaurant too.

We're actually guilty of going to this restaurant TWICE this past week - once last Friday for dinner (I had a coupon!) and again on Tuesday (I had another coupon that expired on Wednesday...).  I can't help it!  This last time Katelyn was getting a bit antsy so I caved in and gave her a sweet potato fry.  GASP!  Oh no I didn't!  Yup I did...and she LOVED it.  Bad Kathy.  I think she really is getting so tired of baby food though...doesnt it look like she's smoking a cigar or something? hahaha

Saturday morning we tried to head to Target to take some holiday portraits of Katelyn.  We got her dressed up all cute in a little holiday dress and hairband!  No luck though, the studio was running super behind, and we didn't want to wait that long.  We ended up checking out a photography store in Costa Mesa and picking up a background stand and background!  Shoot, we'll take our own studio photos!
So much red at Target!
Oh, this picture is from Friday night (after Sushilicious) when we went to visit our friends the Garners.  (Kaden is actually the boy who caused Tyler's mini head gash previously, but they're like brothers - they fight and then forget about it).  Here they are hanging out watching TV.

Sunday was our group's holiday party!  Love the holidays!  Here's Tyler playing with his friends.

Katelyn was really good that night, despite it being WAY past her bedtime.  She had a really cute cupcake bib on too!
The kids had their own dinner table - super cute!  We (the adults) didn't really eat until the kids were done eating - we crowded around them and stuff!

Tyler and Kaden thought it would be funny to play in Kaden's parents' bed (the master bedroom is on the first floor).

They look like they were caught redhanded here. Haha!  I wish we had a king sized bed!

After dinner, the kids settled in to watch Toy Story while the adults ate and chatted.  How cute are they just hanging out!
I brought Katelyn's chair for her to use.  I love it - it totally grows with her.  It's really cool - she's actually standing up in it (she's ALL about standing right now) and there's a snack tray in the front.  It's even big enough for Tyler to sit in it like a regular chair (holds up to 75 pounds!)
Only not-so-great thing?  The chair put her perfect hand-height for the house dog Mochi.  Super sweet dog, she came right up to Katelyn - and Katelyn loved looking at her.  Mochi would sniff at whatever Katelyn was eating (sourdough bread that night - her new favorite!)...

Then Katelyn would look away for a second...

And Mochi would sneak in for the lick! Hah!  Mochi got a lot of food from Katelyn that night. :)

Isn't Mochi cute?  I think she's a shiba.

Here's Will and Katelyn that night.
We had a gift exchange for the kids.  Worked out great since each family has 2 kids - we drew 2 names out of a hat a month or so ago and bought gifts for those 2 kids.  Tyler was very excited about his Toy Story toys, and Katelyn got this super cute panda pajama set with a little tutu!
Here's our friend Dave holding Katelyn.  How cute is this picture?  They're both smiling at each other with their eyes closed!  (Dave is an Irvine police officer who recently made detective).
Here's a picture of my friends Lisa and Jenn and myself.
And, as always, a group picture!  See Katelyn's cute cupcake?
And a silly shot!
Even though Tyler and Kaden get into, eh, altercations at school, I'm still really good friends with his mom Jenn.  :)
Katelyn is all about cruising now.  Anything new she sees, she'll army crawl over there, pull herself up, and investigate.  She's SO curious about everything!  She's always opening drawers and picking at any little piece of lint on the carpet.  Bad thing though - she'll get her fingers stuck in cabinet doors.  Ahhh!  Another thing, she thinks she knows how to walk!  I think it must be from watching the slightly older kids in her class at school.  She takes a lot of tumbles but she is such a trooper.  Sometimes I think she's going to cry from the fall, but she just brushes it off!  Go Katelyn!  Here's Tyler and Katelyn hanging out on her Dora sofa.  I did some reorganizing this week, and Katelyn's clothes has finally made its way back to her room!  (Very exciting for me...)

Video of Katelyn on her walker.  She's on her way to walking soon! :)

We visited Will's parents at their new place too this week.  Love that it's so close.  LOVE it.  Next steps are to buy some furniture for Katelyn and Tyler's room there.  (You read that right!  They're each going to have their own room there! haha!)

Video of Tyler playing hide-and-seek with Grandma.  He doesn't get the concept of hiding - the whole thing is just too hilarious to him!

Video of Katelyn cruising around the ottoman!  She's gotten so much better!

Video of Tyler in silly mode.  It's funny, he'll tell a joke and then laugh really hard at it himself.  Hah!

Have a good rainy week! :)
