It amazes me how Tyler gets more and more independent everyday. Not only does he have to do everything himself, but he's actually getting better at doing some of the stuff! He does try to put his shoe on by himself completely unsuccessfully though. Here's Tyler feeding himself some frozen yogurt. The frozen yogurt we generally have now is literally frozen - we buy it ahead of time and it sits in our freezer until we have some time to have some. Frozen = hard = less messy for Tyler!
Here's a video of Mr. Independent!I love watching Tyler and his friends have snacktime at school. They usually have it outside, but they've been having it inside since it's been so cold lately. I like it when Tyler sits next to Cambria (to his left) because she's super smart and knows SO many words!
I recorded a little of the kids eating - almost felt like a hidden camera observing. heehee.Tyler is a big reader now. But mostly Elmo stuff. What is it about the marketing of Elmo? Why is he so lovable? Tyler's really into books that have thick flaps to open and close. He has too many of them now I think. There's a book in the front waiting area of his daycare that he always has to read before he goes home - its' called something like - How Dinosaurs Go To Sleep - he loves that book!
Oooh, Tyler was quite a little helper this week. He helped vacuum, wipe the floor, AND his high chair! Thanks Tyler! I've been thinking of getting a new Roomba, but if Tyler keeps this up, I may not have to!
Here's a short clip of Tyler - free cleaning service!Over the weekend I had a nice lunch with some of the ladies from my AAWM group (Asian American Working Moms) - dimsum in San Gabriel. The best part? It was a MDO (Mother's Day Out) so I got to have a nice social lunch where I wasn't scarfing food down or trying to keep Tyler from having a meltdown. Here's a group shot after lunch - I'm actually one of the taller ones - WOW!
Will brought Tyler to see his parents since it was so close by at lunch. Tyler had fun playing peek-a-boo with his grandparents and sticking his tongue out at them.
Ooh! So I think I might have found a way to get Tyler somewhat interested in brushing his teeth: an electric toothbrush! The elmo toothbrush didn't work, and neither did the Thomas the Train one that played a song. I was getting tired of holding his writhing body in a vice grip while I tried, so I got him one of those kid toothbrushes where the brushes swirl around. Tyler has showed minor interest (which is a jackpot! for me!). Hopefully he'll get used to it more.
Oh, and we bought Tyler a potty. I know, what are we thinking? Tyler likes to sit on it and watch videos on my iPhone, but hates having the white bucket attached. He's a smart one, I can't even seem to sneak it in!
Here's a clip of me trying to get the white potty holder onto his potty. Tyler is totally onto us!Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Oh man, that picture of Tyler browsing the iPhone while on the pooper is hilarious! I see that exact same image at my house, except he's a grown man...
hey!! they make potties that don't have the bucket.. it's just 1 plastic unit (that's what we have in taiwan).. jake would always fiddle w/ the white part too.
it IS amazing that they become so independent. he he. i do still have to help jake w/ his shoes sometimes.
that last video is hilarious lol
Hahaha! Hilarious potty video.
Well...Tyler is definitely growing up and learning that a man's ultimate chair...is a TV toilet, along with some reading material on the side.
It's okay Tyler. I know the white part is restricting wind flow, yes? I enjoy the butt breeze myself...
good luck with the potty.
