I've finally realized that I need to stop reading and believing everything I read about taking care of newborns. It is really ridiculous how everything seems to contradict everything else! I was seriously going crazy trying to make sure I was doing everything right, and then I'd read something that would say to totally do the opposite! argh! So I'm finally going to accept that I'm going to just have to do what feels right and that Tyler is going to make his own schedules and stuff. Whew.

Wednesday night - Thursday was HARSH. Right after a glowing Tuesday - Wednesday too! Tyler had been a perfect little eater up to Wednesday night and then decided that he just didn't feel like it anymore. We went to two breastfeeding clinics on Thursday (where I got contradicting information from both) and also a stop at our pediatrician's office since one of the nurses at the clinic felt that Tyler was really looking quite yellow. They had a machine there that could test Bilirubin levels (stuff that causes jaundice) but no matter how they tried they couldn't get it to work. Too bad too, because it was a test that measures by pressing to the forehead while the doctor's office actually draws blood and sends it to the lab.

Our pediatrician is off on Thursdays so we saw another doctor in the office. Boy- what a difference! When we first chose this practice, I had looked into which doctor we wanted to choose - and there was one that was guy that was actually from Hacienda Heights! I think he went to Berkeley too maybe. But we decided to go with another doctor. This time we got to see him since he had an open appointment and BOY am I glad we didn't choose him. He must have been the most indifferent doctor EVER! He was like .. so.. what's going on with Tyler ... ahh.. ok .. well.. I see..sheesh. And when he left a message on our machine with Tyler's Bilirubin results (his levels went down to 16.8 from 18.6 on Monday) he sounded totally bored too!!
