No, it has not been 2+ years since our last update. Wait, has it?
That means 2+ years of memories that are stuck on my phone and computer. 2+ years of photos that I'll never look at closely since there are just way too many.
Today I resolve to get started again. No more excuses, we'll start with the last week and just backtrack from there, based on photos. Maybe I'll do a few weeks in a post to save time. Now that I am working full time, our lives are much less exciting. Before we would fill our weekends with fun activities. Now I'm just too tired to do anything. The kids are missing out! I used to look for fun activities to do every weekend. Now I just want to sleep in and take a mid day nap. Working sucks.
Will and I will need to come up with an easier procedure of getting photos onto this site. Right now it's pretty tedious and unless I stomp my feet nothing gets done. I am too tired to stomp my feet about this (trust me, I am still stomping my feet at many other things).
Just a quick recap though - Tyler is in 4th grade and KK is in 1st. Tyler has Mrs. Mardaresco who I really like and KK has Miss Hassine (Tyler's super sweet 1st grade teacher). There was a moment in June/July where it looked like KK wasn't going to be getting into Woodbury. The school is overcrowded and due to a mistake Will unknowingly made (I sent him on day 1 to get a spot for enrollment and he signed up for a spot on DAY THREE!!), they told us that we needed to register at a different school or hope that a current student moved. To make matters worse, they got their list wrong and left me a VM saying she got in - only to then leave another one the next day saying they were wrong and she wasn't in. Drama. They ended up opening a whole new 1st grade class (WHEW!) and we are happily all in Woodbury. The different pick up times are crazy though (1:57pm for KK and 2:32pM for Tyler)! Thank goodness for the flexibility in my work but even I feel bad leaving so early on so many days. I need to find someone I can trust to pick up the kids and drive them to their activities.
Tyler's in Gate this year (thanks to OLSAT prep last year) and doing well in all his subjects. This is the first year they have grades and I definitely feel the pressure since I can see every last score he receives online. The first trimester closes this Friday and he is in danger of not getting an A in Math. Can you believe it, Math?! His best subject? I shake my first at Common Core. Sigh.
We got back a few weeks ago from a trip to Paris/Barcelona with friends. It almost seems like years ago. It's amazing how hard the daily grind is. I should really try not to complain but man, sometimes it feels like EVERY DAY IS A BATTLE! I don't know how working parents do it, there are just not enough hours of the day. I suppose I could let up and the kid activities but the pseudo-tiger mom that I am (trying to be anyway) just can't accept that. Oh yes, we also moved in June and sold our Northwood home.
Oh well, no more whining. Restarting this blog will be part of the new WE-GOT-THIS attitude.

Welcome back!! You can try downloading the blogger app for iPhone and try sending posts from there.. It's fairly easy to use but limited. But at least you get some photos and thoughts out there :)
