Katelyn's Birthday (again), Allergist Appt, Disneyland, First Baseball Game, and Duffy Boat .. (Week 347/209)

Monday was Tyler's 4th birthday.  Usually I would keep the kids home from school on their birthday, but Montessori does something cute and fun for the kids to celebrate their day.  I was excited to go and check it out that morning.

Here's Katelyn and her friend Annie.  They play together every day.  I'd try to arrange a playdate for them outside of school but Annie's parents are Japanese and don't really speak English.  Hard to communicate.

Class started out with Katelyn going around the sun and stopping on her birth month.  With each step Miss Jessy would talk about Katelyn and her interests and personality.  She even had me bring photos of Katelyn throughout her life to share with the class.

Video of KK's GFM bday:

I came to pick up Katelyn a little early that day so she could have tutti frutti with her favorite friend, but found her completely knocked out. I woke her and she wasn't grumpy the moment I told her Noemi was waiting for her!

For dinner we went to BJs since they have a free mini bizookie to celebrate your birthday.  Cheers!

Will even came with us to Tyler's piano lesson for the first time!

On Tuesday I took Katelyn to see a new pediatric allergist, Dr. Berger.  She's been having such horrible flare ups of ezcema that have been really painful.  I tried to prepare her for the skin prick test that I knew she would be getting.  It did not go well.  Lots of screaming and crying.  Poor baby!

Yikes, check out that giant welt. Walnuts.  Eesh.  We were there for almost 3 hours.  I was mentally and physically exhausted.

That afternoon they also wanted us to take Katelyn to get her blood drawn.  After the morning I was not going to take her, so Will did instead.  Apparently it was EVEN worse.  The person at the lab did a horrible job and was really unsuccessful trying to find a vein.  Will said he saw the needle go in and out constantly and he had to hold down a screaming Katelyn.  OMG!  He snapped this picture on the way home when she was trying to brave and smile for a picture for mommy.  When they got home and she saw me, all the emotions came back and she started crying again.  So sadly, it broke my heart.

Wednesday.  And the celebration goes on!  Took Katelyn to Disneyland with her friend Tess.  Thought it'd be fun to let the girls wear Disney dresses!

Love this photo, dancing with Minnie!

Minnie was tiny.

Basketball practice that afternoon.

Thursday we started Tyler on his first golf class at Oak Creek Golf Club.  It was a good deal - 3 months for $149.  Tyler was genuinely excited about golf!

Had to decide between ballet and baseball practice that night, and went with baseball.  The girls were so cute practicing their throws.

Impressive work Katelyn!

After school Friday was Mustang Milers practice.  Katelyn insisted on wearing her new pink baseball helmet to dinner.

My friend's husband was out of town on Friday so a few of us went over to hang out.  Always good times with these gals!

First baseball "game" of the season!  I say "game" because in Miteball the kids all get a chance to hit until they hit the ball and everyone runs to first base.  The girls were SO cute though. The pants were SO tight on Katelyn around her tummy.

Tyler hung out with his friend Lucas and the most adorable girl (Samantha, called Sam - daughter of the coach).

Saturday night we brought dinner over to my friend Jen's new place and the kids played together.

Sunday morning we headed out to Newport Beach to celebrate my friend Connie's birthday.  They rented a Duffy boat in the Newport Harbor.  Will was the designated driver since we all brought tons of food and drinks.  Super fun, we drove around the harbor and docked at different bars for additional drinks!
