After the craziness of last week, this week was a take-it-easy week. Not like I ever can take it easy though. It took a while to get everything sorted out, put away, cleaned, returned unused stuff, etc. More lists and to-dos. But it was worth it, the girls all had such a wonderful time and Katelyn talked about Belle constantly. She kept insisting on needing to call Belle to tell her that her crown had come off.
The next day, Monday, Katelyn had a horrible time at drop off at her Chinese school. Mind you this was her 2nd week already and there hadn't been any indication that she didn't like it at all before. She kept insisting she was tired (which I believed, since her birthday party had been quite a full day!) and she didn't want us to leave. I needed to though, since Tyler had school. Very frustrated I was. I ended up taking her with me to drop off Tyler because I didn't want to hear her crying and whining. I was NOT HAPPY and she knew it. After dropping off Tyler (and getting an earful from me), we went back to her Chinese school. She started fussing again but somehow we were able to distract her with a snail that we found. How very bizarre I know. The teacher got a little paper towel to put the little baby snail on and Katelyn was very focused on bringing it into the classroom. Whew. I did decide to come back early (at 11am instead of 12pm when they end) to sit with her. She really liked that and we sang songs with her classmates. She really wanted to take the snail home with us but I convinced her that we should let it go home to its mommy.
Back at home, she got to open another present - and she chose her princess hair styling set. Haha! She knows how to use a flat iron and curling iron! Plus she'd come up to me put her pretend lipstick and blush on me. What a girly girl!
Tyler has been talking about leprechauns for a while now. Apparently they are talking about them a lot in kindergarten, and the kids really believe that they are real. Hmm. It wasn't until later that I finally opened an email from their teacher and realized that all the kids were supposed to build a leprechaun trap! Oooh, no wonder. I decided that this was going to be all Will. Tyler started drawing plans for his trap. Constantly. Very adamant that there needed to be a hole. Haha!
Tuesday 3/5 was Katelyn's school BFF Harmony's birthday! Super cute these little girls are.
My old coworker Lara came by to pick me up for a much needed happy hour that night. It was great to see her and catch up!
Silly Katelyn.
Wednesday I met up with my friend Yoko (Harmony's mom!) for a late night saketini night. Can you tell I needed to de-stress after all that party planning? Was so good to get out and just relax with friends. No more nights of making tissue paper roses, haha!
On Thursday, Tyler's school had a music performance day where they invited the parents to watch. They had been practicing various songs that they were going to perform for us. I think it was just an opportunity to see what the kids learn in their weekly music class and get the parents to try to donate. The kids were really excited to perform for us!

Then there was ballet in the afternoon. Not sure how much more graceful Katelyn is becoming, but it is just still too darn cute to see her prancing around.
Here's Katelyn showing her ballet moves that she learned:
Found this picture that Tyler drew of him and his friend Nevan. Heehee, not the best artist.
Friday morning I braced myself for another difficult drop off morning. We prepared her all morning and in the car and she assured me that she wouldn't fuss. But as soon as we got there - BAM - she started saying she was tired, etc. Smart cookie, she must have remembered that it worked last time. We even went outside with her to play in the park a little bit to get her situated. This time I REALLY needed to drop her off since I needed to pick up Tyler's friend Jordan to take him to school with Tyler (his mom had a doctor appointment that morning). I stayed strong and she CRIED and CRIED. I even stayed in the lobby for a bit and still heard her screaming. What a horrible way to start the morning. I came back early that day too and they told me that she had actually thrown up from crying. G R E A T. But that then she was fine after she walked around with one of the teachers for a while and played with a princes castle. Sheesh.
Friday night - total relaxation and hanging out at home. I think I just vegged out on the couch! The kids played 'Light Sabers' with Will, hehe. That and Hide and Seek are their favorite games to play all together.
On Saturday we headed up to Mt. Sac to take the kids to my old violin teacher's annual student recital. The kids weren't sure what to expect but they did pretty good. They weren't able to watch for long though, so good thing we brought electronic entertainment. Still, I'm glad that we were able to expose them to it.
With some quick last minute planning, we were able to get together for dinner with my parents and my brother's family for a delicious 10 course banquet Chinese dinner. Ooh, there was so much delicious food. We had leftovers to eat all week!
Tyler had a stomach ache before dinner. I was suspicious of the melted-then-resolidified pocky I had given him in the car. Oops.
Then Half and Half Boba! Wow, they are HUGE portions. Plus a pretend phone for the kids to play with while we waited for our order.
Last stop of the night - Chino Hills! Wow I had no idea where Chino Hills actually was, haha! But we rarely get out of the OC and it was the perfect opportunity to visit my friend Ruby out there. And it just so happened that they celebrated her daughter Emma's 2nd birthday that day too! Yay!
Sunday. Katelyn's Pre-1 class has a very busy March birthday month. So busy that this was a joint birthday for two of her classmates - Harmony and Gemma at My Gym. I took Katelyn and Will stayed home with Tyler to build the leprechaun trap. Katelyn had a GREAT time!
Video of the girls on the swing:
Her favorite part was the ziplining!

This was the first time I really saw her interacting with her friends. Super cute.
Last stop of a not-so-relaxing week: a Clippers game with my girlfriends Joyce and Cindy! Totally out of the norm but it was really fun!
