Legoland and Taiko drummers... (Week 245/107)

I really have no excuse for procrastinating on this post...

Tyler's class cut out letters to write some messages at school and he wrote: "I love the library".  This must have been written right after our library trip where he borrowed a bunch of Star Wars books!

Back in Taekwondo!  I'm hoping Tyler can learn his form and do it without help for the next graduation - then he can jump to the camo belt instead of just a half step.  We're not sure how far he's going to continue in tkd, but he's still just so cute doing it!

On Wednesday I took Tyler to Legoland!  What a lucky kid! I had a coupon for a free child admission with purchase of an adult admission.  Children's admission is ~$80 (!) so I couldn't pass it up!

Tyler can be such a sweet kid at times...

In the shooting ball area, Tyler got real busy collecting balls.  He would gather as many as he could hold and then stand next to a kid at a gun and provide ammunition.  Later, when he got to an available gun, I watched him hope that someone would do the same for him.  But no one did.  It made me quite sad to watch, so I headed in and gathered an armful of balls for him.  The look of happiness he gave me when he saw me approaching with all the balls made my heart melt.  Tyler is such a good kid, he's really so kind hearted and does such nice things and he hopes that others will do the same for him.

I managed to build some sort of Lego vehicle for him to race.  Not a strong skill of mine, but he was still so happy that he had something!

Afterward we checked out Sea Life next door.  It's a small aquarium and just enough to wind down before we headed home.

On Thursday, ICDC had a Taiko (Japanese drummers) group perform.  I headed in with my friend Yoko (the mom who arranged it through the PTA) to watch.  Katelyn was very excited to see me and happy that she got to check out the drummers too.  The toddlers watched the performance from their yard, through a gate, but Katelyn got to come with me into the big yard and participate afterward.  She got to try out different drums herself!

Here's Tyler and his buddy Zane!

Back at homes the kids were excited to watch American Idol with me, especially the performances with a guitar.  They pretended they were rocking out as well.

Saturday was ballet class!

And then the park afterward.

Harmony and Katelyn love the swings!

Tyler had a good time too.

After ballet class and a quick park playdate, we headed up to Monterey Park for lunch with Tiff and Brian.  These two are getting married at the end of April and I was picking up my (gasp!) bridesmaid dress.  Katelyn fell asleep on the way up and woke up when we got there.  She was NOT rested and was in a very bad mood. V E R Y.  She screamed and cried and rolled around in the car and didn't want to be bothered.  Yikes.  She was in quite the funk too after she calmed down and wasn't very sociable.  It took her a while to warm up and then she was her silly happy usual self, especially once we got to Tiff/Brian's place nearby to hang out.

Sunday we did nothing.  And it was nice.  March had been such a busy month that it was nice to just relax around the house, and prepare for the upcoming week since Will was going to be out on travel.
