Happy 2nd week of 2012!... (Week 235/97)

Happy 2nd week of the 2012!  I have cracked down and am in full on study mode.  There will not be any fun family adventures for this month and half of the next!  Poor kids, they'll just have to watch a lot of TV I guess.  Hah!  Thank goodness Will is ready and willing to step up and help a lot more with the kids while I fry my brain cells with over-saturation.

Last weekend our friend Yao stopped by for a quick visit.  It was great seeing him and catching up!  He also brought the kids new Apple logo t-shirts.  How cute are they?  Tyler's older Apple shirt (also a gift from Uncle Yao) was starting to become too small but it didn't keep him from wanting to wear it.  Thanks Yao!

This past weekend Will took the kids to the park so that I could get some studying in.  Ahh! The very mention of studying stresses me out.  Luckily I have got in touch with a study group today - thank goodness!  Unfortunately they study all the way in Long Beach.  No excuses!  Anyway, I thought this was a funny photo Will took of Katelyn at the park.  She does not seem very amused.

A couple short videos of playing on the see-saw at the park.  I like Katelyn's squeals!

...and playing on the airplane at the park:

And lastly - 80s day at school!  Ok, it wasn't really 80s day but Katelyn's side pony was just too cute to not share.

Wow that was the shortest post I've written in a long time.  Will is out of town next week.  Really bad timing.  Katelyn is such a crazy talker now.  I closed my eyes at the dinner table tonight and she said, "Mama!  Wake Up!".  When she burps, she'll say "exccuuusee me" afterward.  What great manners!  Unfortunately, she has become quite the biter at school lately.  After breaking a kid's skin with a bite last week, the teachers are much more vigilant in watching her.  They've caught her 3x already this week trying to bite one of her classmates.  Oops.  Luckily they catch her before she strikes, but we still get an incident report because she did try.  Hmmm..  The other day she was upset at Tyler and she bit herself in anger and left little bite marks on her arm.  That's weird, isn't it?  She's great at counting now and I may even start her on Kumon soon... NOT!  But really, she does like to count.  Her FAVORITE toy is her play kitchen.  She plays with it every chance she gets, and loves to get other people's participation too.  She'll always pour me something from her coffee pot and say "Here mama, Coffee!".  Then when she pours some for herself and takes a sip, I ask her if it's coffee and she says, "No, Mulk!".    Tyler has been a handful as well, but he's been pretty good lately when it comes to doing his Kumon.  There is definitely a lot less fussing and whining about that now, which is great and wonderful!

Have a good week!
