The holidays are here! Definitely my favorite time of year, especially now that the kids are really enjoying it as well. Katelyn LOVES Christmas lights, we drive around every day after school looking at the lights in our neighborhood and she always cheers and asks for more. She loves pointing at snowmen and saying "shumen". It's so cute seeing things from her point of view - so new and exciting!
Anyway, Tyler and I finally got a Disney pass. I've been holding off for a while but we have been planning on going for quite a while. Disney has a Southern California Select season pass that's not too pricey (lots of black out dates of course). The best thing about having a season pass is that there is no crazy rush to try to get in all the rides. Doing that is exhausting! We headed out early in the morning and squeezed in a handful of rides with my friend Amy (and her daughter Kaitlyn) before we headed home in the early afternoon. Tyler even got to meet Tinkerbell, Mickey Mouse and also Buzz Lightyear! His favorite rides were the Toy Story Mania as well as Star Tours 3D. The remodeled Star Tours ride is super turbulent - I was worried about Tyler falling out of his seatbelt! Tyler was really well behaved and didn't make a fuss about not buying any souvenirs (we packed our own lunches so we didn't have to spend any additional $$ at the park).
This past weekend Will's parents came down to visit and the kids got to help make dumplings with them. They really liked helping to roll out the dough for the skins. Even Katelyn got into it!
We had a scheduled family photo shoot for Saturday afternoon but the photographer rescheduled to Sunday morning due to heavy, heavy winds. What a great call on her part. Saturday afternoon was super crazy windy and Sunday morning it was nice and breezy. Getting the kids all dressed was a bit stressful but we made it to the Laguna Niguel park on time. The kids were great for Ray (the photographer) and really liked her assistant/friend Lillian. Katelyn was shy though, much more than her normal self. I was very excited and nervous to see the results - especially since I needed one ASAP to make our Holiday Christmas card! Afterward the kids got to play in the park for a bit before heading out to lunch and then home.
Sunday night - Holiday Party! Our playgroup has gotten larger over the years - the more the merrier! This year's party was at the Macalino's home in North Tustin. Their home is beautiful! Makes me want a bigger home. Waah. Lots of food and lots of fun. The kids got to decorate their own little Christmas tree as well as have a gift exchange. Katelyn got a little baby doll with a doll stroller - she loved pushing it around all night. Tyler got a remote controlled hummer! The kids enjoyed decorating cookies and played well together all night.
On Tuesday I met up with my college friend Heidi for lunch in Artesia (apparently near Long Beach). It was a yummy shabu shabu place. Heidi is 7 months pregnant and I could not keep my hand off her tummy! :) Brought back a lot of pregnancy memories.
I have also started studying this last week. Like really studying. And it's causing me to start stressing as well. Ahhh! Time to get serious!
