Short post this week! Yay! This week marked Katelyn's last week at home with me as well as my nanny's last day working her normal schedule with us. So sad! It was hard - a combination of not having Katelyn with me most of the week and saying goodbye to my amazingly awesome nanny. Sigh.
Tyler has been doing great at taekwondo - we're prepping him for his first ever tkd competition on September 10th. Exciting! In San Diego! We're planning on making a trip out of it - Will is going to take Friday off and we're going to head to Sea World and then spend the night in San Diego. Saturday morning is the competition, and then on the way back we're thinking of stopping at this Birch Aquarium as well. Hopefully it won't be too hot. Tyler's friend Maddie tried out a class at Tyler's TKD studio and Tyler was really excited to show off his moves. He was so focused!
Man, it's been HOT! YogurtLand is our favorite cooling off place. :)
The kids cooled off in the backyard mini pool.
And we had shik do rak! Ooh, I LOVE that place. Yum. Afterward we hung out and ate the little frozen yogurt desserts outside. I had one of those moments of "oh man, I love my family!" They are quite wonderful and I'm so darn lucky. :)
Tyler has gotten good at waking up and doing his Kumon packets first thing in the morning. Now that we've moved his table next to our bed, I just have to lean over to check his work. So much better than when I was sitting in the other room, on a little kid couch, half asleep and grumpy. Hah! Katelyn is ready to do her Kumon too - she'll scribble with her pencil and then going "ta-dah!" and look at me.
Congrats to my brother Lindon and his wife Michelle! They had a little boy this week, and I was SO excited to go see him and hold him. He is SO ridiculously tiny - I have completely forgotten how small they are.
Too bad this isn't a picture of me and Tyler and our baby #3. HAH!!! (Comment from Will - Uhhh... no.)
Our friend Joan and her kids are visiting from Taiwan and we were excited to get to hang out with them. I love that Jake and Tyler can just pick up where they left off and play happily together. Even though they're almost 2 years apart, those years hardly make a difference.
The weather has been so warm that we even had a nice dinner outside one night. Granted, this was a result of Katelyn insisting on going outside at dinnertime and her putting up SUCH a fuss that we finally gave in. It was nice! - except that I got a couple bug bites.
Today was my nanny's last day. The 2 1/2 weeks that I've been off work has gone by quick. That first week my nanny was out on vacation, and the second week she was here once or twice, and this week was only one day! I'll admit, it's been pretty tiring at home with Katelyn, especially since I look around and see SO many things that I want to do around the house. I took Cheyenne and Katelyn to Sushilicious for lunch (Cheyenne's never had sushi I think) and Katelyn gave Cheyenne a going away present - she slept through the whole lunch! Haha! It was almost like Cheyenne and I were having our own lunch. :)
I wish I had gotten more photos of Katelyn and Cheyenne in the 15 months they've been together. She was only 3 months when Cheyenne started with us. Here are a few I took today.
Oh, and this is a cute video of Katelyn playing patty-cake with Cheyenne. Such a little smarty!

I seriously have a picture of myself at 3 or 4 wearing a tiny light blue checkered swimsuit standing in a kiddie pool!
