Hello everyone! Happy Chinese New Year!
Not much going on this past week. I started auditing a couple classes again, in preparation to take my comprehensive exams in September (yes, I know, what? I STILL haven't taken it yet?). Oh it's going to get done for SURE this time. YES.
Anyway, Katelyn is getting much more communicative! She'll nod yes and shake her head no. Cheyenne has been teaching her "all done!" in baby sign language, which she'll do sometimes, but other times she'll think Cheyenne wants her to clap her hands together. Heehee. She totally knows when she's doing something she shouldn't be too - we'll go "Katelyn!" and she'll totally have that caught-redhanded look. Sadly, she's been quite grumpy too - c'mon molars - show yourself!
Tyler has been really good week - which is amazing and wonderful to me. No temper tantrums, save for one yesterday morning about him not liking the shirt I picked for him. Sheesh. When did he get so picky about his clothes?? The worse is that when he's in a cranky mood, not only does he not like what we pick out, he won't pick out one himself either! This leads to me getting really annoyed after asking him if he wants this shirt, how about this one, how about this, this one, this one? Until I start saying "No!" along with him right after I ask him if he wants a specific shirt. Hah, I know, who's the adult again? But, exciting development last night! Tyler usually goes to bed around 8ish (he has been dragging bed time out and it is really starting get frustrating!) and Will/I usually take him to use the potty around 11pm. He's totally sleepy and I think he's barely awake as he does his business. But last night, we heard some movement around 11, and he had gotten out of bed by himself, went to the bathroom, used it, and went back to bed! Will and I were VERY excited. Progress!! Oh well, we don't push at all about the night time potty training - he can wear pullups for as long as he wants! We encourage him of course to try to stay dry, but I'm not complaining since we had him potty trained during the day pretty early (a good number of months before Katelyn was born)!
Some photos from the past week-
Tyler and Will's mom. Tyler loves going over to their home - they play with him nonstop. I MUST post a video of Tyler playing hide and seek with Will's mom. It is SO funny. He only gets the "seek" part. When it's his turn to hide, Will's mom will start looking for him and be like, "Tyler?..." and Tyler will come running out laughing. Hahahaha.
Katelyn with Will's mom!
Katelyn's favorite thing to do at the grandparents - climb this step ladder! She has some good upper arm strength!
Ooh it was pouring that day when we left their place. Tyler really liked their giant umbrella.
He was upset that we didn't bring his pikachu umbrella - it wasn't supposed to rain until later! Luckily the novelty of this giant umbrella distracted him.
Sunday afternoon we headed over to our friends' place in West Covina for their son's first birthday party. What a party! Seriously, WHAT A PARTY. Here we are with our friends Shirley and Jesse (it was Jesse's brother's son's birthday).
They had a Calbi Kogi catering truck there. Tyler ate a couple shrimp from a taco...and got sick fast. It was very sad. He was complaining of a stomach ache and next thing we know he's crying face down on the floor. SO SAD! He ended up puking... A LOT! Poor little guy. Afterward he felt a lot better. Cutest moment of the night - Katelyn pushing Tyler around on this little Buzz Lightyear buggy!
Video of Katelyn pushing Tyler in the car. Seriously, you MUST watch it! SO CUTE!
Here's Katelyn with the birthday boy Jayden (and Jayden's Godfather). They're only a month apart!
And Katelyn with my new friend Cindy!
This weekend my parents also dropped by too! Here's my mom playing with K.
Hey...isn't that a baby toy Tyler? Sheesh, he always has to play with whatever Katelyn wants to play with...
The kids with my parents!
And with my grandmother too! Tyler's been doing a closed-mouth smile a lot lately - poor kid - he must have a complex because I'm always telling him not to smile so cheesily!
Group picture!
And lastly, Katelyn took a ride for the first time on her buggy! Well, it's actually Tyler's (hence the blue color) but she loved it anyway! She kept one hand on the steering wheel and the other she kept in the cup holder. I don't know why. This picture below confused me for a second because I thought it totally could have been Tyler if it wasn't for the colors she was wearing. My mom made a comment that I only have one mold when it comes to baby making. hah!

Have a good week!
