Short blog again this week! Are we getting lazy or what? I think we've just been taking things easy around here, recovering from the holidays. We'll have to do some fun activity this weekend since it's not so cold anymore!
I think I mentioned before that Katelyn is totally off baby food now. Zilch. I have a hard time even feeding her yobaby yogurt in the mornings too! She's all about chicken and pork and fish and noodles and this and that. Anything she can get her hands on and munch by herself! Plus after we made the change from bottles to the Nuby sippy cups, she's drinking a ton of breastmilk at daycare. So much that I totally can't keep up. Ack! We can do it! Just a little over a month left until she's 1 and can drink cow's milk! We're so close, I don't want to supplement with formula... Here's Katelyn happily eating at Pat & Oscars.
Video of Katelyn and Tyler at the fountain... Tyler is running around the large fountain, and when he gets back to us Katelyn is so excited and yells out something like Guh-Guh (big brother in Chinese)! So cute!
Video of Katelyn saying "no" in her own special way... Ah yes. She's got the "no" shake of the head down. She does it quite exaggerated though. When we offer her baby food - vehement head shaking. When she's done eating something and doesn't want anymore? Head shaking. Even when she's in the bath tub and Will says time to come out and holds out his arms? Head shaking. So stubborn! (On the positive side, she's good at holding her arms out now and opening/closing her hands when she wants you to pick her up. So cute!
We hung out a little bit at the Woodbury East toddler park. Katelyn loves swings! Tyler totally hated them (and still does)! I think we are going to hold Kateyn's first birthday party at this recreation room at Woodbury East - I can't even think about starting to plan it though - it's so daunting! I like that it is RIGHT next to this little playground though.
Video of Katelyn on the swing at the playground...She gets to go on the swings at a nearby little park all the time - my nanny takes her out for walks - her favorite part of the day I bet!
This past weekend we also hung out with our friends the Garners. I love their house because it is so clutter-free! Here's Katelyn wanting to sit at the big kid table. :)
But instead she sat with us at the dining table. Their dog Mochi was really smart - she parked herself next to Katelyn's chair and waited for Katelyn to drop stuff (which she did!). Katelyn was so great that night - she hung out in her high chair during our entire dinner!
Of course Tyler was really excited to play with Kaden's toys.
On Sunday we headed over to Will's parents' house in the afternoon and made dumplings. Tyler is surprisingly good at making the dumpling skins. I kid you not - those roundish dumpling skins on the table were made by him! He actually knows to roll them, and rotate them a bit, and roll them again. I was quite amazed.
Katelyn likes hanging out there since there's wide open spaces to crawl around.
We have some kid toys that we leave there for them to play with when they visit. Tyler was wildly running around with Katelyn's little walker and would hysterically fall on purpose. Katelyn thought it was the most hilarious thing.
Check out this step ladder! Katelyn climbed to the top all by herself. She is SUCH a climber. Anything she can climb she'll try to climb. Our long stairs at home? No problem. Up a step onto Tyler's bed? No problem. Grandpa was behind her the whole time in case she fell but she climbed all the way up to the top by herself!
Here are a few random pictures of Katelyn playing with the nanny. She's getting really good with her walker and sometimes I think she really thinks she can walk and tries (and then falls on her butt). We need to work on that balance first!
Making some music...
Um, we REALLY need to be working on her hair. So disheveled, long and thin. Should we shave her head? Trim it? This haircut is definitely not going to be acceptable when her 1st birthday comes around! :)
Side view of her wispy, wispy, light colored hair.
So it's finally started warming up again, which is great! My nanny was about to take her out for a walk the other day in just a onesie and pants. I almost had a heart attack, hah! Maybe it's the Chinese mother in me but I thought she was going to freeze, even though it was quite sunny outside. I insisted she put on a shirt (and my nanny looked at me like I was a little crazy...) so I got out this 12 month Dora t-shirt and it was SO tight on her!
But she is so cute in regular clothes though. She's been in one of those footed pajamas for so long all day because of the cold weather.
Knocked out Katelyn. So peaceful.
Oooh, and the other night she was ALLLL about broccoli that I had made. She could not stop! Gotta get her started on healthy veggies!
This photo Will took on the way to work the other day. He looked back in the rearview mirror and Tyler had pulled out his sunglasses and put them on without saying anything. He's too cool for school!
Have a good week everyone!

Katelyn just knows the good stuff. Tyler has some impressive dumpling rolling skills--when will he deliver to the Bay Area?
