Father's Day, Soccer, Golf, grandparents, and Katelyn rolled over!

Happy Father's Day everyone - hope you guys all got to spend some quality time with the fathers in your life!

Oh man, this has been quite a hectic week.  Mostly because everyone in our little family has gotten sick.  Tyler started out with a fever last week that got Katelyn and me sick.  I'm finally feeling better but Katelyn is still congested and unhappy.  To make matters worse, Will's caught it too now - and it's hit him really bad.  Ugh!  Poor Katelyn, she's been waking up at night constantly - and this is the sweet girl who's been sleeping wonderfully through the night since around 8 weeks! Sigh.  Teaches me to take things for granted!

Last week Tyler's school did a special pizza party lunch to celebrate Father's Day.  Here's Will and Tyler.
Tyler has been super sweet the past handful of days.  Last week, (I'm hoping because of his fever) he was a HANDFUL.  I'm talking enough-to-make-me-want-to-pull-my-hair-out handful.  Everything was a battle and he was just totally stubborn.  Lately though, he has been super duper sweet and a great listener.  Not sure how long he'll stay this way, but I'll enjoy it while I can!  My favorite moments are when he comes up to me, kisses me out of the blue and says: "I love you mama.".
Friday after school we headed to a local park with friends for some soccer practice and fun.  I actually got Tyler on a swing!  He's never really liked swings - wonder if he'll like roller coasters when he's older..
The gang running around!  I don't really get to get involved much since I'm busy with Katelyn.  That afternoon I busted out my beco carrier and Katelyn slept happily in it.  I think I want to get an ergo though...
Tyler's starting to get better at the jumping drills!
This one was cute - hopping through the various rings.

I love how the kids all know to wait in line for their turn.  We had a 3 year old section (Tyler and his friends) and a toddler section (the little brother and sisters of his friends).  Katelyn is so behind! haha!
World Cup fever must be in the air I guess!  Here's Tyler kicking the ball around cones!
and GOAL!  It is kind of mayhem when we're out there, but the kids are having fun and running around - so it's all good.  Their favorite is the game of duck-duck-goose we play at the end of the day.
Afterward we all headed to the District Costco for pizza and hot dogs for dinner.  At first I was like, ?? - we're going to Costco? - but it turned out to be a great idea because the kids could run around and play while the adults just chatted away.
Later that evening, Trina came by so we could meet the newest addition to her family - Sophia!  OMG so freaking cute - Sophia is a miniature doberman who's only 2 months old!  Tyler had so much fun playing with her!
Heehee, here's me and Trina with our little girls. :)
To celebrate Father's Day, we headed over to San Gabriel on Saturday morning to see Will's parents.  It was actually our first time taking Katelyn up there (usually they come down) and I wasn't sure what to expect with her napping and stuff.  She had a great time playing with Will's parents though - lots of smile and laughs!
Will's grandmother, uncle and 3rd aunt were there for lunch too.  Katelyn was such a cutie pie with all of them.  And Tyler was especially (surprisingly) friendly to Will's uncle!  Here's Katelyn and Will's grandmother.
Lots of oohing and aahing over how cute and smiley she is.  Seriously, she is just a happy baby! ... except when she's sick, which then I'm equally cranky.  Sigh.

Here's Tyler and Will's dad.  They had a great time playing cars almost the whole time.  I found out that Tyler knows his left from his right.  And has for a while.  Why am I so surprised?  I guess because I always kind of had trouble with remembering the difference when I was younger!

And here's Tyler with Will's mom.  Hey - don't you think this picture and the last picture doesn't have Tyler's typical super fake smile?  Progress! :)

At one point, Katelyn was getting tired and started fussing a bit.  Will's mom was holding her and, I swear, Katelyn said "MAAA-MAAA!".  I swear!  Everyone stopped and was like, did she just say?... it totally sounded like it!  Amazingly, as I was going through all the videos from that day, Will actually caught it on a short clip! Listen and decide for yourself!

It was definitely an exhausting exhausting visit.  Katelyn wasn't interested in sleeping in her bassinet, so I nursed her to sleep downstairs in a bedroom while everyone ate lunch.  As soon as I tried to put her down in the bassinet (she was knocked out!) she woke up immediately.  Ugh.  By the time we left, Tyler knocked out in the car but Katelyn was wide awake and needed constant attention on the LONG traffic-filled drive back home.  Needless to say, we were all exhausted.

Sunday.  Tyler's first golf lesson at Tiny Tees Golf!  We met up with Tyler's friend Arden and her older brother Evan (I had told their mom about it).  Sweet! - it was a class session but it turned out to be only the three kids - which would normally count as a semi-private lesson.  Score!  Here are the kids listening to Coach Trapper.

First up, putting!  I was excited to see Tyler try it out - he was so cute with the little golf clubs!  Here he is, almost his turn to go!

We really like the Coach too - he's a PGA Professional teacher from Hawaii and REALLY good with kids.

Good form Tyler - start your arms in the form of the letter Y!  (Except, that's one of the 9 letters of the alphabet he's not so good at yet..)

Here's a video of Tyler putting.  He hits it straight and right in the hole.  Go Tyler!

Next up? Driving.  Much more difficult!  Coach Trapper is amazingly patient.  Here's Tyler about to hit the ball.

Good followthrough!

Coach Trapper wanted them to do "tippy-toe" afterward to remember to point their toes.  This was mostly an afterthought for the kids - but they'll eventually figure it out.  By then, near the end of the hour, the attention spans were waning also..

Katelyn slept almost the whole time in my pouch!
After golf, we went to meet my parents and grandmother for lunch.  Tyler fell asleep on the way to the restaurant and actually STAYED asleep for most of the meal.  I can't remember the last time I held him sleeping in my arms during  a meal - probably not since he was a baby!  After his short nap, we avoided his grumpy waking-from-a-nap mood by taking him to get YogurtLand.  Yes, Yogurtland solves all problems for Tyler!
We had an early dinner at BJs.  It's become a tradition of ours to eat at BJs every father's day, because they give out these pint glasses that say "Father's Day 2010".  We've gone every Father's day after we've had kids, and I think we'll probably keep going. :)

Some random pictures from the week:
Will and Katelyn!

Katelyn and me!

We mistakenly thought Katelyn had a tooth below the surface ready to pop out.  I was not pleased - teeth + nursing is NOT a good combination!  Tyler got his at 6 months and I was definitely bit quite a few times.  Katelyn has been drooling a ton, with a low grade fever and we thought we felt a bump on her gum so we just assumed.  She's probably starting to teeth, but thank goodness no teeth yet.  She does love to chew on her Sophie the giraffe though!

Smiley Katelyn.  This picture was taken today.  To commemorate... Katelyn ROLLING over!  YES!  So, the nanny had the day off today and Katelyn was napping.  I was downstairs on the couch half-napping, half using my computer when I heard her start to stir.  Boo, her naps have not been so great, so I flip on the monitor to see if she's really awake awake or just fussing a little bit.  I turn it on and see her... on her BACK!  Wha?  I grab my brand spankin' new iPhone4 (YES, it came todaY!!) and ran upstairs.  I flipped her back on her tummy and watched her flip again - and caught it on video!

Here's the video from my iPhone.  I love how she's just completely confused/startled after rolling over - she has this "what the heck?!" look!  Love it!  She did it again later that afternoon, but this time she rolled the other day!  What a milestone!

Some more photos of Katelyn..

Totally looks like baby Tyler here!

Ooh, and we got Mojo groomed.  It's quite hilarious to look at, and I'm sure he's super pissed.  But thank goodness there's so much less fur floating around the house!

And lastly, Katelyn's 16 week bear picture.  What a week huh!

Katelyn seems to be getting cuter each week! Of course all the smiles don't hurt, either.

As for Tyler, I must say it is great to see him at golf school. Got the golfing shorts to match, and a girlfriend too! Haha...
