Day 3 of the Bahamas! Woke up to a beautifully sunny morning - Tyler even crawled out of his little bed and snuggled up with us in ours for a bit. It was nice seeing him and Will snoring together. :)
After a yummy breakfast - pancakes, eggs and toast! - we headed out to start the day. Our plan for the day was to check out some more of the awesome Atlantis resort and then head back to Harborside to swim in their pool. Tyler was very excited to start the day too!
The shuttles to Atlantis run constantly - we rarely waited more than a few minutes. Even when we did, it was fun just people watching and meeting new people.
Just waiting around for the shuttle - Tyler was in the best moods every day. He'd wait patiently and yell "a bus!!" whenever a shuttle came around.
One of Tyler's enjoyable pasttimes - playing 'pew pew' with us. By the way, pretend shooting is not allowed at school. Yikes!
Here's Tyler shooting back at us.
The resort was even more beautiful this day than previously - the sky and water were SO blue. At the Royal Towers (the main towers) they have these huge waterfalls coming out of shells into the water - it's quite amazing to see. Yes. I'm pregnant - but this shirt was a bad choice - I look HUGE! (note to self: retire this shirt indefinitely! haha!)
Tyler is the best 2 year old poser that I know - he's great at giving that smile and a little head tilt for photos. This is one of my favorite photos from the trip. By the way, he's holding my camera, or "his camera" as he refers to it - we have SO many Tyler-vision photos!
We watched the feeding of the sharks and sting rays in the lagoons - the sharks get pretty worked up (to be expected) and the sting rays are hand fed and eat right out of the person's hand! It was very cool to watch. Here is a photo of a sting ray:
And a shark. Not sure why I didn't post the photo of the sharks getting all crazy...
More pictures in front of the fancy bridge suite. Too bad we'll never see the inside of it!
Funny thing while we were taking these photos, there were a lot of birds around (attracted from the marine life feeding) and Tyler decided he had to chase all of them away. It was really funny/cute watching him so intently go after the birds!
Each time we went to the Royal Towers, we always walked through the amazing "The Dig" aquarium. There's an area in there where you can touch starfish and horseshoe crabs. It was cool to look at everyday - I was hoping Tyler would be courageous enough by the end of the trip to touch one... but nope.
Ooh, a Tyler vision shot! He's getting better and better with his aim/steadiness!
Afterwards we headed back onto the shuttle to Harborside. We were looking for a little more lowkey water enjoyment this day and the Harborside pool is much less crowded.
Tyler had no fear at all getting into the water. He was ready to go! This pool is pretty awesome, half of it is really shallow with water sprayers and the other half is deep - fun for the whole family!
A smudged family picture.
Having fun with daddy in the water. At this point Trina and I snuck off to relax/read/nap near the pool. Oh yes, and to get some sun! This was the first real day of sun, and I covered myself with sunblock and suntan spray. Not sure if it was pregnancy related, but I ended up with a heat rash that lasted until we got back! I'm a trooper though, it totally didn't keep me out of the sun! hehe!
This is Tyler spotting myself and Trina on some seats. He was very excited and came running to us laughing.
It was great timing though. He ran to me, snuggled up in a towel, and then fell asleep in my lap! Ahhh, Tyler curled up sleeping next to me, sun and a shaded seat, a good book and a nap. Perfection! (The previous day, Tyler had played until we left the Splashers pool at Atlantis, and then knocked out on the way home. He was SUPER heavy to carry back to our hotel - and even caused Will to take a little tumble on the stairs! Thank goodness he napped in one place this time!)
Tyler hit the pool a little more before we left. Here an underwater camera photo he took...
It was just an overall great day at the pool!
That night, Tyler insisted on wearing his sunglasses into the tub. In fact, he became really attached to them and would always ask where his sunglasses were (and make a little glasses shape with his fingers!)
And we'll end this post with a video of Tyler swimming with me in the Harborside pool. How happy and cute is he! :)
