Tyler's BFF visits and Water Play! (Week 106)

Wow it's been so hot this week! Hope you guys are all staying cool - I'm sure our air conditioning bill is going to be through the roof!

Here's a picture from last week that I missed. Family picture at the OC Fair. :) I heard that this weekend they had baby elephant rides too! I'm bummed we missed that, but totally not willing to withstand that heat again for the opportunity. I must still be traumatized.
All I can seem to remember about this week was that it was HOT! We were doing some errands (returns and stuff) and actually headed to a mall this past weekend. Tyler saw these firetruck strollers and went crazy for them! Hehe, gave me some time to shop while Will and Tyler played.
Oh yes, this week Tyler's BFF came over also! They always have so much fun. Here they are on the foosball table. Good thing there are two separate goals or we'd have sharing issues. hehe.
Here's a short video of the boys 'playing' foosball. Funny moment: Tyler getting upset that Vincent left to get the ball.

I'm not sure what Will was doing in this picture, but apparently it was pretty hilarious. The boys are so happy looking, and Tyler is laughing so hard!
Kareen and I used to play piano duets together when we were little. This picture totally reminded me of that. Tyler and Vincent were both pounding on the piano, and then they both got really distracted turning the pages to the sheet music...
Not a full playdate until the boys wrestle in the inflatable area! Somehow Tyler managed to pop a hole in the plastic part that holds the frame up (from diving in and out crazily) - so now there are no walls. It didn't keep the boys from playing in there though. :)
I mentioned on his birthday post how much he loves his Thomas stickers. Here's a prime example: sticking a bunch of stickers on himself and wanting to give us one! I remember always wanting to hoard my stickers when I was a kid, what a waste! I'm glad Tyler knows to peel them off and enjoy them.
This weekend was also Will's mom's birthday dinner. It was quite an exhausting event. We headed over to their place first before going to the restaurant. As soon as Tyler saw the birthday cake with the candles, from across the table, he stood up and tried to blow them out! Hah! Will's mom grabbed him and had him help blow out her candles. Very cute.
I wasn't too thrilled about this picture and had to bite my tongue. A sharp knife like that around a super-hyper 2 year old? Yikes! Still a cute picture though. :)
This picture is hilarious. Tyler always sees me, after a shower, with a towel in my hair and he decided he wanted one too after his bath. I love this picture!
This weekend we also headed to Pioneer Road Park in Tustin for some water play. Tyler was very excited in the car to play with water, but he was totally not into it when we got there! He was quite concerned as he saw all the water - it really is an awesome water play area. Different areas have different sprays and you never know which section will turn on next!
We had to do baby steps to get Tyler near the water. I was happy with the little progress of getting him to put his hand in the water spray! It actually felt quite wonderful getting wet! Next time I'll just wear my swim suit underneath! :)
After that little bit, he was still concerned about the water...
Even with his friend Jake playing in the water happily, Tyler still wasn't convinced! I'm glad Jake had a lot of fun though!
At one point, Tyler was standing in a spot that didn't have any water being sprayed... and then the fountains next to him turned on! He was NOT happy about that. He started crying and running, and had a run-in with a super-happy-Jake! After this, Tyler was not interested in getting wet anymore. He doesn't like surprises!
After a while, Tyler headed over to the horses. There are three horses, and when they turn on they vary in their intensity. I was with Tyler when they started and got completely soaked by a little girl who aimed her horse at me. Seriously, completely soaked - but it felt GREAT! Plus the sun was so hot, I got dry pretty quick.
After waterplay was over, the boys played in the playground for a while. I love how Tyler and Jake are old enough to play together. Can't wait until Tyler has a little sibling to play with too! Here they are making silly faces.
Tyler is quite strong for his age! He'll tackle Will and myself, and we're always surprised by his strength. Here's a photo of him wrestling with Jake. So funny!
Here's a picture of Will, Jeff and Antonio with Tyler, Jake and Brandon. Tyler has such a funny smile - a result of me asking him to smile! It was definitely a fun day at the park - love that park!
After the park fun, we headed to a yummy prime rib dinner at Gulliver's next to the John Wayne Airport. Tyler was really into their cheesy breadsticks - I think he ate 4 of them before the kids food even got there!
Group picture after dinner. Doh- we're missing Jake!
And lastly, weekly girlfriend picture. :)

It was great seeing you all this past weekend. Until Kathy pointed it out, I did not realize how MUCH energy Tyler has. Good thing you have all those great parks close by.

Hope to see you all again soon...
