This weekend we headed to South Coast Plaza to return some stuff and get lunch. Tyler loved the fountains in the mall! He stood on the edge and danced (without any music) because he was so happy and excited!
They had the Easter Bunny there along with some activities for the kids. Will and I were both pretty scared of the Easter Bunny we saw last year at the Laguna Hills Mall (very scary...) but were pleasantly suprised with the one South Coast had. It was actually an electric puppet or something of some kind. Much cuter! Tyler loved the wishing well they had there with all the frogs, and kept wanting to climb in.
Ah, the merry-go-round. Tyler's been on one before when we were visiting Houston last year, and he didn't seem to dislike it much. Funny how much changes in a year. Will took him on and after the 2nd rotation, Tyler was ready to get OFF! Everytime they would pass me, he would yell "maaa-maaa!" and scramble to try to get to me, but I couldn't! The lady who worked there told me there were 8 rotations, and counting down those last 6 took forever! Tyler will probably not be going back on there for a while!
We thought it would be fun to have lunch at Rainforest Cafe since Tyler loves animals and there are so many in there. Good idea? Wrong! The animals in there, I don't know how I could have forgotten, are HUGE! Tyler didn't want to be near any of them, especially when they moved. Check out the size of this elephant!
By the end of the day, Tyler was super pooped. He fell asleep in the car before we even left the parking lot. He's really into puffs again for some reason. I had a coupon so I bought a couple and now he insists on holding the container himself and sticking his arm ALL the way in to get the puffs at the bottom. They're so unfilling though!
Easter is on the way! I'm excited since we're going to take Tyler to the Irvine Easter Egg hunt. I have no clue how it will be, but I think it'll be fun just doing something with our community. I even got Tyler this cute Elmo Easter Egg basket! Also, I picked up an egg dyeing kit as well. We're going all out this Easter! :)
And lastly, lunch with the girls! We met up with my girlfriends at a TCB (?) Tofu House where Tyler was actually quite well behaved during lunch. I am very happy when he sits in his high chair like he's supposed to!
We even tried out Ce Fiore afterwards. Blech. So not a fan, compared to Yogurtland. Yumm, I had some LycheeTart today from YogurtLand, now I want more! Here's Trina sneaking a kiss from Tyler!
Here's a short video of Tyler dancing at Ce Fiore. He's not too picky about his yogurt, but he definitely didn't like their chocolate flavor.
My friend Juliet is leaving Huntington Beach to go back to Seattle so she had a going-away get-together. It's always a bummer when people have to move away!
And lastly, we went shopping for toddler beds this weekend. We've started the horrible habit of lying down with Tyler in his room on a mat for bedtime. He'll do some crazy rolling around with me and then fall asleep. Such a horrible habit! The worst part is picking him up and putting him into the crib after he's asleep - and him waking up! Drives me nuts! I'm hoping a toddler bed I can correct this bad habit! We went to Bergstrom's Children's Store and found it to be really really overpriced, but Tyler had a great time playing with the train table. So, next item of purpose? A train table! Now I just need to figure out where I'd put it first...
