happy 8 months to Tyler!

hey everyone! Yay - Tyler turned 8 months this weekend! To celebrate, we had two busy days. :) It's nice that he's (slightly) older now and he can go a little longer between naps. He is so curious though, and growing SO strong that it is seriously getting really exhausting just holding him because he is so squirmy! The past week was pretty chill leading up to the weekend. Tyler is getting really good at going to sleep on his own for naps, but he still isn't sleeping that long at nights. We've stopped bringing him to bed with us until after 5am though, so hopefully that'll help him learn he needs to sleep in his own crib more!

Friday we headed to JC Penney's for Tyler's 8 month photos. I wasn't as impressed this time around, but they still came out cute. We used a Spring background this time (thank goodness, because I was getting tired of their other ones) and Tyler was dressed in this cute dress shirt and grown up slacks! They were way too long, but still cute. This was Tyler's first photo session where he could stand up! Yay!
They took some photos of Tyler with these bunny rabbit ears. I thought they were cute but Will wasn't too much of a fan...
We also took some pictures without his fancy clothes (if I had known I would have put him in a nicer onesie!). He was very friendly with his bear friend!Afterwards we stopped by Babies R Us for more baby food. I had to take a photo because this is the first time I've put Tyler in a shopping cart - WITHOUT the usual padding! He held on tight and looked like such a big boy!We also stopped by Target that night (see how exciting our Fridays are?) to pick up some stuff. They were selling these cute bunny ears for $1 so I couldn't resist buying. These were so much cuter than the ones at the photo studio - aww, I wish we had had these!
Saturday we ran lots of errands! We got our new car its first wash, stopped at Chick's in Tustin MarketPlace to look at Heart Rate Monitors, had Chick-Fil-A for lunch, bought some weedkiller and tulips at Lowe's and also recycled! Yes! They just opened a recycling center in Irvine in January and we were finally able to go get some $$ for all the bottles/cans. We got $10+! Here's Tyler and I, doing our duty for our planet! (it was pretty smelly there though...)That afternoon, we attended a 1st Birthday party for one of Tyler's friends - Vincent! It was nice being outside since it was such a nice and sunny day! Tyler was really curious about all the dogs that were there, and had a lot of fun playing with a water bottle. Here we are below, isn't Tyler cute in his little elmo hat? You can see the weird rash he's been getting on his cheeks - I have no idea what's causing it - he hasn't eaten anything new I don't think, nor have I... Will thinks it may be a combination of breastmilk/saliva from when he's nursing at night. Another reason to sleep train him! Here's Tyler and myself, with my friend Julie and her son Vincent - the birthday boy! Wow, who knew how hard it is go get everyone to look at the camera. We did it before though - HERE! I can't wait to start planning Tyler's 1st birthday in July!
We were pretty exhausted afterwards and all took a nice nap when we got home. Then we did some gardening! I don't have pictures but we bought some really nice red potted tulips from Lowe's and planted them in our backyard. The countdown now begins of how long they will last... on the plus side, the weedkiller we bought to kill the weeds/plants growing through our deck totally worked! The advertising on the bottle was true - works immediately!! While Will was digging and I was pulling weeds, we put Tyler in the exersaucer in the backyard with us. We were actually both able to work in the yard while Tyler entertained himself! Yay!

Sunday was quite a busy day too. In the morning I went to a playdate at a park here in Irvine with some other fellow mommies and kids. I didn't know how nice this park was - they had fountains and a water/sand area for the kids! Doh I forgot to take pictures! Tyler was the youngest one though, and I only let him crawl a little on the side. After that we headed to lunch with friends that we had met a few months ago when we took Tyler to meet Santa. We had a great time with them and hopefully we'll see them again soon! Here's our two families:
Tyler was so tired on the way home that he fell asleep in Will's arms - which is very rare! It was so cute seeing him all snuggled up that I had to take a photo. When we got home, we changed his diaper and he didn't even wake up - he was that knocked out!
Later that afternoon we stopped by our neighbor's house for a birthday party. There was a lot of people there - nice to socialized again that's for sure! We got lots of comments on how cute Tyler was, and he was in a good mood and quite happy! Here's Will and myself, with Serah and Roger.
So today I felt the need to take some more photos of Tyler with those gosh-darn adorable bunny ears. He loved them - it was so cute!
Here's our video of the week - we were at Toys'R'Us and Tyler fell in love with this bouncy ball - we totally bought it for him too!

And lastly, our 35 week photo! Him and his bear have become quite chummy don't you think?

Hey Kathy! I left a comment the other day, but it doesn't look like it got posted. I must have forgotten to hit "publish." Oops! Well, my comment was that Tyler looks adorable in his bunny ears! Anyway, thank you for your comment. We're in Costa Mesa. If you're ever at IKEA, you should stop by and visit. =)
