32 weeks! Happy Valentines Day and Tyler has pears
happy 32 weeks Tyler! Alright, what's gone on this past week...these weeks are such a blur, everything is going by so quickly!
Tyler is really enjoying his walker these days. I think its a mellower experience than his jumperoo and exersaucer - he just kind of hangs out and plays with the little toys. He seems to really enjoy them and he stays pretty calm.I caught him trying to poop while he was sitting in it the other day and managed to get a few photos. It is the most hilarious thing watching him push. Usually we know he's working on it when he gets really quiet all of sudden. His facial expressions are so funny! Tyler has graduated from his old bath routine. We used to put him in a tub on the bathroom counter, but it seemed that it would take forever to wash him and water was getting all over the place. The pre-bath routine is still the same though (taking his clothes off on the bed and playing with Will).. But now he takes a bath in the bath tub - what a big boy! Here's Tyler all wet. These baths seem a lot quicker and easier for some reason. Plus I have to shower anyway so I just get in with him and not worry about getting all soaked. (thats my eye makeup on his forehead, oops!) Tyler has a huge interest in running water. He loves to stick his hand out under running water and feel the water flow through his hands. (See video at the end of this post). It is really cute to watch - makes us realize how new everything must be to him. I thought this was a funny picture - Tyler is looking at the stream of running water from the faucet - he looks so captivated. For some reason, his head in this picture reminds me of an apple. I have no idea why. On Friday my brother and our friend Keith came by for lunch (Joey's BBQ - yum!). It was funny sitting there and them all talking about electronics and stuff with Will. They all used to work at Gateway, but now Keith is at Toshiba and Will is at Verizon Wireless. The entire lunch time conversation was electronics-based. I tried to follow but got lost pretty quickly.
Here's my brother and Tyler. My brother has 3 nephews! Here's Keith and Tyler. We used to play a lot of poker with Keith. sigh. No more poker for us - the closest I can get is online bodog once in a while and the poker rooms in vegas when we go (which is very rare!). This past weekend we headed to Huntington Beach to the Shipley Nature Center for their 'Save the Monarch Butterfly' event. I thought it was going to be interesting - lots of butterflies and stuff like that. BOY was I disappointed. It was pretty darn boring and we spent maybe 20 minutes there. Here are a few pictures (no butterflies though).Tyler listening to the guy welcome us and gather our information. It was hard pushing the stroller - it was so bumpy. I did notice that 95% of the cars there were SUVs or Minivans - whoohoo, we've joined the club! Wednesday our good friends Shirley and Jesse were in town from China. It warranted a dinner out WITH Tyler! I always worry how dinners will be with Tyler since its usually getting late and near his bed time... but he was great! We ate at buca di beppo at the Tustin Marketplace - I love their chicken parmiagana.
Here's Tyler with Chrissy and Jeff - they are really good with Tyler! Here's Jesse and Shirley. Tyler was getting grumpy by then (this is after dinner, at, where else - yogurt land!) and this was the best non-upset picture I could get. Yum Yum Yogurtland. We made a big effort to get the smaller cups that day instead of the large ones. Its an addiction I tell you! Happy Valentines Day! We were daring and took Tyler to this Teppanyaki restaurant we had a gift card for. Think Benihanas. Its amazing how much easier dining out is now that Tyler can sit up and play in his own high chair. There was a lady with her 2 month old sitting next to us, and I was really surprised to watch her feed him a whole bottle of juice! Tyler has such a funny expression in this picture. Our 1st family Valentines Day! I'm starting to worry about the sun for Tyler - I know they already put sunscreen on him at daycare - perhaps we should start doing that too if we know we're going to be outside for extended periods of time. I love Tyler's fisherman hat. After he fell asleep, I moved it so it would block the sun from his face. hee hee. Out to lunch in Monterey Park this weekend, Tyler was great! We got tired of him dropping his toys on the ground so now they're all connected by string to his high chair cover. Aren't we clever! Tyler is reading! Ok, he isn't, but he's finally seeming more interested in story time. This is Tyler and Andy at my parents place meeting Berkeley. Tyler is pretty interested in cats I think - he's always watching mojo whenever he enters the room. Ooh ooh! Tyler had pears for the first time this week. . . he didn't really like the first bite (see below) but gradually warmed up to it. He usually eats a good amount of fruits and veggies everyday, but today, for some reason, he barely ate any at all! strange... This picture really amazed me. I can not believe how huge Tyler looks. He seriously looks like a giant baby compared to what I remember him being! And lastly, Tyler's 32 week photo! Here's the video I was talking about before - Tyler in the bath tub checking out running water. :)
