hey everyone! happy early Chinese New Year! This is going to be a pretty heavy picture post, so warning! This week has been a tiring week - poor Tyler has caught his first cold! It was inevitable I guess, he DOES go to daycare and all. I guess the flu shot he got at his doctor appointment didn't help, since this is a cold and not the flu. Thank goodness Tyler hasn't been having a fever though. But he is pretty hoarse and very congested! Poor thing. His sleep has been totally whacked too! :(
Here's our sleeping little one. That's my nose in the top right corner! I love it when he falls asleep cuddled up next to me, instead of nursing to sleep. When I was sleeping with Tyler, mojo was on the other couch taking a nap with Will! haha. Mojo is super attention hungry now. Ever since we've started putting Tyler more into his crib at night to sleep, Mojo has seen it as a green light to try to get back into our bed to sleep! Will ends up continuously tossing him off. poor mojo...My parents came by this past weekend (in between their busy schedules) and hung out with us and Tyler before they went off to a choir performance. Tyler was happy to see them, even though he was sick and not feeling so great. He's such a big boy now! Tyler's not too fond of getting buckled into his high chair, but once he's in, he's happy. Doesn't Tyler look huge? He looks like a little boy now sometimes, where'd my baby go! craziness... he is super long for his age though..Back to Tyler putting everything in his mouth... I like this shot because it looks like we caught him red-handed doing something he shouldn't be doing. heehee. Last week my friend Sandia came over for a mini playdate with her son Ethan (Ethan is 1 month younger than Tyler). I had mentioned her in a previous post, but just to remind you all - I met Sandia while we were taking Childbirthing classes at our hospital. Seems like ages ago... Anyway, we were having Tyler show Ethan all his toys, and sitting up and stuff! :) This week was a week of a few firsts! This is Tyler's first time sitting in a shopping cart. It was very exciting - no more huge carseat to lug around, or a separate stroller when shopping! We were shopping for a new carseat, Tyler grew out of his infant one. Sigh. Another sign that he's not a baby anymore...he also had apples for the first time this week too!
Tyler crawls like crazy now! I took a series of shots of him crawling, kind of like a flip book. You put him there and then bamn! - he's over there. I was just getting excited about being able to put him down (since he's sitting up now) and being able to do something else; now that's out the window! Since we can't head up to Monterey Park this week for Chinese New Years, we visited Will's parents to celebrate early. Here's Tyler with my mother-in-law and me. I think he's just starting to get the whole 'separation anxiety' thing. Its pretty bittersweet - I love that he knows me and wants me, but its kind of sad when he cries when I'm not there. Sigh. Here's Tyler and my father-in-law. Everyone seriously says that Tyler looks like him! Oh my gosh. Tyler now has the worst poops ever since he's on solids. His little washes when he poops have become QUITE smelly. Now we'll see if our Diaper Champ really works or not! He still enjoys getting his little booty washed though. Yawn! Its a tough life as a baby - all the pooping and crawling and sitting and babbling... This is our new nanny Olga (aka nanny #3 and hopefully last nanny for a while!). She is ggggreat! (crossing my fingers, and knocking on wood). During the week when Tyler is at home, he gets 1 or 2 walks a day. We make sure to bundle him up nice and warm and off he goes! He LOVES being outside. Olga says he babbles on and on as she walks him around the neighborhood. I forget what Tyler was doing in this picture - but its the first time I caught a smirk on him! :) I remembered to take a picture of one of our Yogurt Land outings this week! It was so rainy this past weekend, but it cleared up enough to make a trip. Usually I wouldn't worry so much, but with Tyler's cold, we've just been trying to be extra careful. They changed the cups there to be plastic instead of paper - totally sucks! Now they're really cold to hold and seem to melt quicker. sheesh. We met up with some new friends as well (fellow yogurt lovers!). This is Joyce and her daughter Carmen (11 months I think?) with Tyler and myself. Her husband Joe and Will got along great too! They also have a 2 1/2 year old son named Mateo. They are really fun, and we even got a recommendation for a cleaning crew from them (VERY excited about that!). Next outing? - Korean BBQ! yum! And here's our 30 week photo with Tyler's buddy bear. (Please excuse all the slobber stains on the sheets...). One new video - not as EXCITING as last week, but of a very happy Tyler. You know, you all can still comment even if this post doesn't make you gasp! :) hint hint..
We borrowed Lindon's Canon Digital SLR with a 50mm lens. It makes me really consider shelling out the big bucks for the super quality photos you just can't get with point and shoot cameras.
You can really see a huge difference on some of those shots! :)
