happy 26 weeks (6 months on Wednesday!)

Hi Everyone! Wow, here we are , already week 2 of 2008! I have New Years resolutions this year- first thing is to finish my Masters before I drive myself nuts! Time frame for that is probably September of this year - no more using Tyler as an excuse! :) Tyler is full on his way to crawling now - doing lots of scooting around in preparation. He loves to grab his toes, and kick them when he's sitting in his high chair or stroller. Today I actually think I heard him make a 'maaaaaaa' sound! I was like !!?!Last week on Wednesday my nanny wasn't able to make it, so I took Tyler out to the Irvine Spectrum. There's a puppy store there - super cute! I took a picture of Tyler and this little puppy - it cost over $1k! Sheesh. We went shopping this weekend again and I took Will there to see all the puppies. I know it would be ridiculous to get one now, seeing how busy we are with Tyler and all, but I wouldn't rule out getting a cute one in the future when the kids are older! They had 2 adorable Siberian Husky puppies there that were about $1100 - and the person said they have a 15 day 150% refund policy in case the puppy dies from genetic defects. Yikes! So Tyler has just recently (within the last month I guess) started sucking his thumb! Before he would just try to stuff his whole hand/fist into his mouth. I hope there won't be issues with him being a thumb-sucker or have any teeth issues... Last Thursday was Tyler's very very first day at Daycare. I was super nervous about it. I'd wake up so panicked and anxious visualizing him screaming and crying. He didn't seem to have any problems when we were leaving him though, and was already looking around at the other kids! Here's Tyler and one of the girls there. They are all so super sweet! Here's Tyler right before we left - he seemed fine! They even called me to update me on his first day - apparently he didn't do so well with his naps and bottle taking, and we'll definitely need to work on that. I'm hoping he'll get more scheduled while he's out there - and get used to other people! I'm excited to see the one she's making for Tyler! Thursday night Will and I went out to dinner. ..without Tyler... for seriously, I think the FIRST time EVER. We're stoked enough when we get to have a meal when he's sleeping upstairs, but we have NEVER gone out to eat before! Special occasion though, we had really good friends visiting from Taiwan and Amanda we were going to a fancy/smancy restaurant so I thought it would be a good opportunity for our first date night! Here is our nanny Amanda with Tyler! He is always so happy to see her! :) We had dinner near South Coast Plaza at a steakhouse called Maestro's. It was quite yummy - I had a 28 ounce Prime, Prime Rib. Yup, you read that correct, double prime! Here's the seafood platter we got, the waiter even showed us what was on it with his nifty little flashlight! Hm, something on there may not have been so good I think, because I had some major stomach issues that night. And my friend had issues the next day! But it was only us 2, so I don't know for sure. Here's our group picture after dinner. These 4 are seriously among our closest friends, and we always have so much fun when they visit from Asia! Tyler is totally teething. STILL. I think I say that next week, and each week there is still no tooth popping out. Ive read that the process can take forever. He bites and chews on any and everything! Here he is with his pacifier, upside down! It was awesome for us the first time he was able to pull out his pacifier from his mouth, and put it back in. I just ordered these awesome new pacifiers - RazBerry or something - pacifiers with a nice texture! Here's our nifty new high chair-wannabe that I talked about last week. We actually got Tyler to take a bottle in it, which was great, and am going to try some baby food this week. We've decided to skip the cereal, I was getting bored with it and it didn't seem very filling for him. Carrots and sweet potatoes here we come! I tried feeding Tyler a bottle today in his high chair and he was SO upset! I thought I'd add an unhappy Tyler picture in here. :) Yesterday we took Tyler for his 6 month photo shoot. He was quite a model, with 3 outfit changes! Only bad thing was our timing of the appointment - at noon - right when he was ready to be put down for a nap! I wish we had a more better schedule of when he sleeps every day, but it varies! He was pretty good though, was great and smiley to the very end! Here's Will and Tyler in his little jacket suit. It came with jeans but they were just so harsh on him. He is such a good photo taker! All smiles! Here are some photos I grabbed from the computer screen when we were choosing photos. They are pretty crappy quality but at least its a sneak peak! We got back and I finally scanned his 4 and 5 month photos - I should put them up too! Head shot - Tyler should be a baby model or something. heehee. He's so smiley.Family picture! I love this picture, its like he's totally cracking up at a joke the bear told him. This is the way Tyler has been sitting in his car seat lately - hands on the side with his head up. I always wonder if his neck is getting sore from sitting so straight up. I think he's just so curious about everything going on, that he wants to make sure he gets a good view. Here's a picture Kareen took when they were down here a couple weeks ago - what a close shot huh! I wish my skin looked this good this close up! And lastly, his 26 week bear photo.
