29 weeks - another week going by...
he
y everyone! wow, just a week+ before Tyler turns 7 months. I can't believe how quickly time goes by - 7 months! We're closer to him being one than when he was born! Tyler is such a big boy these days, he has so many fun expressions, I never get tired of taking pictures of him. He's crawling all over the place, sometimes I'll turn my head for a second and he'll have turned around and moved a foot in the other direction! We're definitely going to need to really baby-proof our home soon...
So last week was Restaurant Week here in the OC and they had a special menu at my favorite restaurant - Five Crowns. I was a little hesitant to make a reservation, but the lure of their delicious prime rib was too strong - and off we went on Wednesday. Turns out, Tyler was a perfect little gentleman! He napped in his carseat until the appetizers came, and then was content sitting in a high chair playing with his toys right up until dessert!
Yumm....can you see the mountain of horseradish behind the yorkshire pudding? Yummmm...
Tyler wore a new shirt that night (thanks Christian!) and was so adorable!
So one of the things I feel that I'm constantly doing is vacuuming. That's what happens when you've got such a furry cat running around. We've been meaning to give him a bath and trim Mojo, but we just haven't had time. Solution? A mobile pet grooming company! I was very excited.
Here's the truck. Man, they were running their own generator in there, and it was SO noisy!
I sat in the front and watched through a glass mirror as Mojo got his nails clipped, ears/nose cleaned, washed and trimmed. He was actually pretty chill - I thought he was going to completely freak out. Here he is when they were blow-drying him after his bath. (They wrapped all of his paws with gauze).
Our clean (and noticeably lighter!) Mojo! Seriously, he really felt lighter. When I watched them groom him I was really amazed at how much fur they got off of him. We have a follow up appointment scheduled in 8 weeks (they tried to push 4 weeks and I was like ...) which I might cancel except they gave us a $25 gift card.... aren't they sneaky!
Here's Tyler on our bed after a bath. I've been trying to get him a little naked time each day - I hear its good for them. He is so hard to get a diaper on sometimes, he'll flip over and off he'll go! I think it's only going to get harder too...
Ooh! so Tyler had his first taste of bananas last week! That's the hand of our new nanny, Olga! So far she has been wonderful - MUCH BETTER than that horrible unreliable unappreciative immature nanny we had before. Can you tell I'm a bit bitter? Anyway, Olga is from the Ukraine, and she has been really wonderful. But of course I'm still weary, especially after our experience!
I love the weekends. This past week we've started sleep training Tyler. That means, once we put him down to sleep at 8-9pm, that's it - no more nursing until morning, and no more coming to our bed. It was super tough the first night, but it's gotten progressively better. I think the longest crying length was about 20 minutes! I really do miss waking up with Tyler in bed with us though, but I get to bring him over on the weekends, so that's nice. Here's Will and Tyler, both knocked out in bed. Love it!
We finally got a photo of Tyler with his teeth! I had seen some people take pictures where they're forcing the kid's mouth open, but I figured I'd just wait until I got a good shot of him smiling. Check out those little things!
Now everything seriously goes into his mouth and gets a nibble on.
This past weekend we headed up to LA to hang out with some friends, and guess who we pulled up at a light on Olympic and Colby?... the GOVERNATOR!! I was too chicken to say Hi but still managed to get a picture. Very exciting!
We had lunch at this little restaurant - Sawtelle Kitchen - I had yummy Chilean Sea Bass (my favorite!). Tyler had a high chair but was more interested in sitting on the table.
After lunch, we stopped by the pinkberry around the corner. It SO doesn't compare to Yogurt Land! Tyler doesn't look too interested either...
Group picture! It was great seeing everyone! It was Tyler's first time meeting Olivia and Chinson (they're the couple in the middle), and he had lots of fun playing with Jake too! Olivia and Joan are both pregnant! Hanging out with them made me miss being pregnant, and really made me wonder when we're going to plan to have #2. I can't wait!
And lastly, our 29 week photo with Tyler's friendly bear. These pictures are so tough to take without him rolling over and eating the bear! :)
Here's a video for this week - Will as a rollercoaster for Tyler!
And another video - I just had to post this so everyone can see that accidents do happen! Even when you're watching really closely! To be fair to Will though, he did catch Tyler as he was going down, so even though he ended up on the floor, there wasn't any real impact. But you can bet I was MAD at Will!
Have a good week everyone! :)

Oh how I truly felt bad! Luckily Tyler didn't really get upset since I braced his fall by mostly catching him. He broke out in a smile shortly afterwards. =) It was very sad and slightly funny at the same time to watch on video what had happened.
I tried to watch the video in slow motion...good reflexes and you didn't have to sacrifice the camera, either!
Obviously he's just a baby that can easily get hurt, but there are times when he just seems so SOLID. Like the floor will get dented! Haha!
i watched the last video filled with suspense and a little bit of horror. it was like waiting to watch an accident happen. when it got really close to the end and still no tumble i figured that you were just playing us, and that tyler didn't fall. and then at the VERY last second ... ACK! i literally gasped... even though i knew it was coming! that's a lot of excitement for a tuesday morning!
In case you can't see in the picture of our California govenor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, he's driving around town in a Bentley Continental GTC. (That's almost a $200,000 car! I hope that doesn't come out of our tax paying pockets!!!)

hey, my parents don't let me run around al natural!
That's ok Will, that's why there's carpet! I went through alot as a kid too. I fell head first from a concrete fence when i was a year old, I fell head first on the tile floor in taiwan after jumping on my parent's bed. Talk about not baby-proofing the floors! I turned out fine!
Tyler is so strong already! He can sure do some quick maneuvering, so cute.
OMG! That last video made me jump! Thank goodness Tyler is OK--good catch Will!
Finally saw the video. Good catch Will. I gasped too! Hard to watch, but alls well that ends well. He is a tough little guy.
OMG, i nearly pee-ed in my pants! Scared the crap out of myself watching it. :P
that was definitely a quick fall! i thought it would be like slo-mo, sliding down. good thing for carpet and tough babies!!
btw- YUM for Five Crowns. I guess I will have to hit up Lawrys soon.
follow up on what Kareen was saying, the video is definitely very inspiring for my next suspense thriller....thanks, will.
Tyler just upgraded himself from a Wide Receiver to a powerful Lineman.
glad you are ok.
ok, see, commenting! can't see the videos at work for some reason, will see them later. super big baby!
