Hey everyone! So this past week, our nanny quit on us! I am so sick and tired of unreliable flaky nannies. This is really ridiculous. And to add insult to injury, she tells me via text message! Ridiculous. I'm annoyed... but what can you do? Hopefully nanny #3 will last longer than 2 months!
We've been talking about sleep training Tyler, but I always seem to find a reason not to. No more excuses! We still swaddle Tyler, but we've been slowly letting him keep an arm out at night, but usually (more often than not) we'll wake up to him having lots of scratches on his face. :(

This past week Tyler has finally gotten pretty good at sitting up! Here he is lounging around. Can you see his leggings in this picture? They're BabyLegs - sort of like baby stockings. They are so cute but WAY overpriced. Plus they were organic. I don't really care that much for organic clothing (baby food is another story) but the only pattern I liked was organic so I paid the extra money. They do help keep his socks on though.
We've been changing it up with his baths - sometimes on the sink in his tub, and sometimes just a bath/shower with me. He is so cute in the bath tub though!

I think Tyler has almost officially grown out of his swing.
Look how tiny he was! I still remember putting him in this swing in the mornings for a nap so I could get some extra sleep. This swing was such a lifesaver when he was so little and we couldn't get him to sleep. Bittersweet...

Last Friday we took Tyler to his 6 month appointment, even though it was a week and a half after he turned 6 months. It was a good appointment - Tyler was in a great mood and very happy, and our pediatrician said he must get it from me. :) We also got a new lightweight stroller (thanks for the tip Joan!) so now its easy to bring him around without a heavy stroller!

Tyler weighing in! Here are his stats:
- weight: 19 pounds 9 ounces - 80th percentile
- length: 29 3/4 inches - 100th percentile (!!)
- head circumference: 17 inches - 30th percentile
I'm not too sure about the measurements the nurse gave us - 100th percentile for height!? I know Tyler is a tall baby but THAT tall? I don't know..

Here's Tyler sitting up. He's getting great at it - he can play with his toys by himself now, and reach for things, and even turn his head and look behind while sitting up. It's a great change because now he is definitely a little more self sufficient.

This past weekend we had breakfast with our new friends Sandia and Jeff, their little one Ethan is 1 month younger than Tyler! We met them when Sandia and I were both still pregnant, during our childbirthing class at Hoag Hospital. And they live super close to us in Irvine as well! I'm totally excited for Ethan and Tyler to grow up and be friends!

We've been on a car search. An SUV car search. I'm quite a big fan of the Volkswagen Touareg, but the v8 is just so overpriced and unnecessary. I think we may need to be sensible and get a practical car. Sigh. Need to think of college funds and stuff I guess... Here's Tyler knocked out at the Volkswagen dealership.

One of our good college friends also came to visit this past weekend! Christian pops up every once in a while - last time we saw him we had just bought our house and I was still pregnant. It's nice reminiscing about the old college days - things were so carefree back then! Happy Birthday Christian!

smiley Tyler!

Tyler has now moved on from sweet peas to carrots. He didn't quite like his first bite... but I think he's warming up to it now.

My mom came today to watch Tyler and she made lots of yummy food again! I keep meaning to learn how to make some, or at least watch her make something - but I never get around to it. Its great because now we have food for the whole week!

We got a new toy for Tyler from my older sister Grace! We got it today and put it together and in Tyler went! I know a lot of things I read say that walkers are dangerous and all, but I think with supervision its totally fine. Unfortunately, even at the lowest setting, Tyler still isn't long enough to move it. But he did have fun touching, spinning and gnawing on everything!

And lastly, here's Tyler's 28 week picture. Man, it is getting really difficult to take these pictures, Tyler is always flipping over and on the move! In case you can't see his t-shirt, it says: Get Ready for the Big (implied Gun) Show.

And finally, a new video!

no yogurtland picture??
wow! that sucks about your nanny!!! maybe you have to go through an agency instead of craig's list?
glad the lightweight stroller helps!
PS. is it just me or do tyler and ethan look like they could be brothers?
PSS.. wow christian kim!
I approve of the purple walrus. Now if I can just nab the pink one off my parents' bed. . . .
Buuuuummmer about the nanny. I once had someone quit on me at work by leaving a post-it on his keyboard at his lunch break. Still not as bad as a nanny who quits via text, though!!
Seeing a video of a laughing Tyler is a great way to end the day. :)
Tyler has the most infectious laugh, he cracks me up! Sigh, what a cutie.
