23 weeks! Tyler meets Santa!

Hey everyone! Sometimes I wonder if I've bitten off more than I can chew - an update every Monday night? How long can I really keep this up!? We'll see I guess... Yay Tyler is 23 weeks. He's rolling over continuously now - we must start on baby-proofing the house. He's also really trying to crawl now - but he hasnt been that successful. He actually ends up pushing his feet and driving his head into the ground! heehee. He'll just have to keep up the practicing. We got some great news this pass week - Tyler got accepted into this Child Development Center in Irvine part time. The wait list is crazy long - we are seriously very lucky! It's kind of bittersweet though, come January I'll be away from him two days a week, and back to the office. It was bound to happen though right? I need to suck it up and not get too anxious about it. This past Friday we took Tyler to meet Santa at Irvine Park's Christmas train. It was FREEZING and the line was so long, but we still managed to stick it out. Good thing I brought Tyler's super warm hat! We had him so bundled up you could barely see him, but it was so very very cold. This lighted train takes you to 'Santa's village' where you wait in another line to meet Santa (and where they sell tiny $2 cups of hot chocolate!). I almost decided that we should just head home a few times, but managed to stick it out by eavesdropping on other conversations around me. One pregnant lady was talking about how her baby would be whisked away to surgery the moment she was born next month - how very sad! Hearing things like that makes me realize how lucky we are that Tyler is so healthy. The train ride was pretty nice, lots of trees and stuff were lit all around. A pretty tunnel we passed through - kind of reminds me of the beginning of Space Mountain at Disneyland. Tyler, however, fell asleep almost as soon as we finally got on the train! Here's me and Tyler on the train. I thought we'd be the only ones crazy enough to bring such a small baby, but there were tons of strollers and little babies!Yay Tyler met Santa! I was a bit worried that he might get scared, but he's not really at that point of recognizing people yet. It was great - he woke up by himself right before it was turn to take a picture with Santa! I took a picture with Santa (with Tyler too of course) , which was fun, because I don't think I ever had any of these Santa experiences growing up! In line we met a few other couples who had young children (not as young as Tyler though) and were really nice. I love meeting other young parents! Here's our little family picture on a giant sled. Did I mention it was freezing? Will is actually wearing Tyler's scarf. It was THAT cold! (of course Tyler was nice and toasty).Yesterday we headed over to my in-laws with my parents and had a nice lunch. Its funny, I don't eat spicy stuff right? Like not even a little bit. But Will's parents love spicy food (as does Will!). But they are pretty considerate, anytime we go out to eat, they'll always make sure to order some dishes that aren't spicy, and don't have mushrooms/tofu/bamboo/etc. But this one type of food they like, from the Hunan province, is SUPER spicy. Whenever we eat that type of food, they'll order dishes for me that aren't spicy, but they turn out to be quite bland because these dishes are SUPPOSED to be spicy! Oh well. I really do mean to try to start eating spicy food little by little... Here's Tyler's 4 grandparents (my parents are on the left). It was so nice watching them coo over Tyler. Tyler was on this big bed and everytime he rolled over, we'd all cheer, and he'd look surprised and then smile at us. It was so cute! After lunch we stopped by this YogurtLand-wanna-be called PeachHouse. It TOTALLY sucked, I didn't even want to buy anything, but felt bad for not. They had 3 flavors, Green Tea, Peach and Original. They all tasted kind of funky. Speaking of yogurt, a kiwiberri opened across the street from our yogurtland. We checked it out over the weekend - there were a lot of balloons announcing the grand opening - only to find it almost empty! I guess winter isn't the best time to be opening up one of these. It's got nothing on YogurtLand!I've had so much Yogurt Land this week. Even twice today. Yes. TWICE. Once with my mom and then once with Will. I've converted though - I used to get random flavors and put in white chocolate chips and almonds. Now its straight Strawberry and Plain Tart, with strawberry, blueberry and pineapple toppings. Yumm...Will and I are trying to not fill it up so much each time we go. It's tough - but we're trying! Here's my mom and Tyler! She spent the night last night and watched Tyler today for us. One day he's going to get too heavy for her to carry...She also made us a ton of food - YUM! It was like crazy multi-tasking, 4 burners all going at once making lots of yummy smelling food. I really need to learn how to cook at some point... Tyler got a new toy - an exersaucer! I'm not too sure how its different from his jumperoo, except that it doesn't jump - it bounces more. Hmm. Not sure if it was worth the ton of money it cost! Anyway, Tyler seemed to really be taking to it - it'll just take some time for him to figure everything out. Here he is when we put him in it for the first time. There is SO much stuff going on with it - even makes me kind of dizzy! Hmm.. checking out the dangly things. Checking out the butterfly. Getting acquainted with the elephant. I think he likes it! Did you notice the mitten on his right hand? sniff sniff. We had a traumatizing event on Friday. Will accidentally snipped the tip of Tyler's index finger when he was cutting his nails! Oh it was very scary, we almost decided to take Tyler to the ER since it seemed to be bleeding FOREVER! Yes, I'm sure we probably were over-reacting, but I've never seen Tyler bleed so much ever! Sniff sniff. We're going to have to be UBER careful next time - and no using adult nailclippers! Ahhh! I even called my older sister and my dad in a panic about the bleeding. My dad actually thought I was talking about Will having cut his finger - I didn't realize this until he told me to 'make sure he didn't wash any dishes and get his hands wet" - ?? - Tyler wash dishes?.... Tyler has been working on sitting up by himself now. He can kind of tripod himself up, but not for too long before he tips over. He's definitely quite top heavy.Ooh and we got him this little piano toy too! I seriously need to stop buying him toys, or at least buy them discounted. Oooh look what I picked up today. Malibu Rum chocolate! Oooh. I have no idea how it tastes, but I'm sure excited to find out! Yum!Here's his 23 week bear picture - I think I may start posting some different poses of him with the bear, just to change it up a little.Happy holidays everyone!

Oh how I will be forever traumatized by causing my poor baby to cry and bleed. I feel so guilty!

I hope no one ever has to feel how it is to hurt a helpless, little baby. Oh so sad!

Tyler, channel Daddy's guilt into letting you control the TV. Learn from my mistakes--never give up the remote. BTW, my dad clipped me, and he still won't let me play with his toys.
