jury duty sucks!

Wow was I completely unprepared for how much jury duty sucks. I was seriously super excited that I had gotten summoned - after all last November WAS the first time I had ever voted (and the day I found out I was pregnant too!) and I figured this whole jury duty thing was part of my civic duty as a US Citizen. How bad could it be! How exciting to be chosen to be on a jury and miss work (and get paid) and get to help decide an outcome of a case! Why would anyone NOT want to have jury duty!?

What a let down it was. I sat through a horrible day on Tuesday where I was assigned to a jury pool for a case and the attorneys spent the entire day questioning the first 18 people randomly chosen. They seriously just asked the same questions over and over and over again to different people in different ways. The rest of us had to sit in the back of the little courtroom and.. LISTEN! no sleeping, reading, talking, etc. It was so painful! My excitement level went from YIPPEE as I walked into the courtroom to omg-please-kill-me after 6 hours. And the worst part was that the judge called everyone back the NEXT day. grroooaaannn.

I was much more bored the second day but also more brave too! I sat in the back row in the corner and secretly read my magazine and when I finished that I started playing tetris on my DS. I know - totally not following the rules right? I even took a short nap (I definitely wasn't the only doing that though!). During lunch I made friends with a fellow juror who told me he worked for the Orange County Sanitation Department - does that mean he's a trashman? One thing I noticed though, was that the majority of the jurors were senior citizens - hearing aids, 60-70+. And they all seemed to actually want to be on the jury! The final 12 ended up being almost 100% made up of Caucasian senior citizens. oh well just glad thats over! no more excitement over Jury Duty for me!

Anyway, I finally uploaded some ultrasound pictures! Here's baby chang at 12weeks 2 days. The top one he's facing us and you can see his head body, and his 2 arms and feet. The second one is a side view of his head - if you look closely you can see his nose and mouth! :)
