Ahh! 2 days late again. Oops. Still recuperating from Will being gone last week, Tyler's terrible tantrums and Katelyn's painful teething! It has been a tough week!
This weekend we had to dole out some serious consequences for Tyler's aggressive behavior. He's just been so aggressive lately and it just become unacceptable. Saturday was a definite turning point - he had a huge meltdown at Will's parents house and then again when we were out eating dinner! Sigh. Please let this phase be over already! He was good during dinner though, and was excited to pour everyone lots of ice water!
We had YogurtLand and that's when everything went downhill. I'll spare you pictures of his meltdown but here's Katelyn with Will's dad. It's gotten quite chilly lately! Needless to say, we are hoping that Tyler learns to control his anger - it's sad seeing a 3 year old THAT angry! We've talked to someone from the School Readiness Program who observed him at school, and she said that she saw his actions that day as pretty typical for a 3 year old boy. (He must have had a good day! hah!). Anyway, we'll be working with him and hope to make some good progress soon. I thought we were actually making some leeway after the weekend, until yesterday when he flipped out at school insisting that his lunch (that we had packed for him) was not a CHEESE pizza, when indeed it was. Seriously??
It was a nice relaxing weekend after our tiring one the week before. Sunday we hung out and then headed to lunch at Lazy Dog Cafe. We actually had tried to go on Saturday night with Will's parents but the place was packed! Katelyn liked sitting in a high chair and looking around.
Sunday afternoon my dad dropped by as well! Katelyn is so fair skinned compared to my dad! :)
It got cold fast! I LOVE it! Here's Katelyn all bundled up ready for her walk. How cute is she?
She loves her little lovie!
So, Katelyn is, what, 7+ months now and I just realized I can flip the stroller seat facing me. Hah! To be fair, she WAS in an infant car seat and bassinet for the first 3-4 months. Cheyenne (my nanny) always tells me that Katelyn spends a good deal of their walk looking up through the mesh opening at the top of the seat. She loves looking at Cheyenne. Ding ding ding! Flipped it and now Katelyn can stare at her the whole time. :)
Will's parents came over on Tuesday with dinner (yay!) and Tyler got to show off his new Woody pajamas. He got them for his birthday back in July but its just now getting cold enough to wear them. Trick or treating next week! He hasn't had good enough behavior to even see his Buzz Lightyear costume! Hah!
Oh Katelyn. and her teeth. Starting Sunday night she has been super duper duper irritable at night. Totally not like her. She'll even cry and scream while you're holding her at night. It's a totally different cry than the whining we are used to. I was certain something was wrong but a trip to the doctor visit ruled everything out except teething. Really? She's working on her 7th already!! Needless to say, Will and I have had sleepless nights. The first few nights I had to resort to putting her in my Ergo and just carrying her around until she fell asleep. It was exhausting. She would constantly wake up and scream. Sigh. Last night she only woke up once though, which I almost cried from happiness. Let's keep it up Katelyn! She has been trying to pull herself up a lot, so maybe that's been disrupting her sleep?
I hung out with Katelyn a little last week when I dropped her off at school. Or was that just this past Tuesday. Not sure, I'm so exhausted! Anyway, found these cute little tights I had bought for her when I was still pregnant. She's getting old enough where I think we'll start dressing her cutely! Before I was just concerned about her comfort level, and I rolled my eyes at the size 3-month jean skirt I had bought for her when I was pregnant.
She's a super crawler - really fast now, but still not lifting her tummy. I think she's not even planning on it! In her walker she's gotten really good at getting where she wants to go and making turns and everything. Here she is climbing the foam climber at school. She made it all the way to the top!
Video of K climbing:
Katelyn's collage at school. She's only 3 months in those pictures!
Ooh, love the storm we have been having. Tyler was excited to use his Pikachu umbrella (thanks Joan!). It is SO cute huh!
And lastly, had a family fun night at Northwood Pizza this week for a fundraiser for the kids' school. Here's Katelyn (looking very boyish yes) with my friend Marj. That's supposed to be a dress on her!
Katelyn and me. No, she's not going to jail!
Mmm, eyeing the pizza. Her favorite snack right now are the Gerber wagon wheels. They keep her occupied and are nice to chomp on.
The pizza parlor had a whole room with arcade games. I could NOT get Tyler out of there for the longest time. He was so excited to pretend drive, shoot, etc.
Will finally gave in and let Tyler play for real. Except Tyler's legs are too short and he has no idea how to steer! Hah! Here's a video of Tyler driving:
And lastly, sitting on a motorcycle with his friend Nikki. Hah!
