Hello hello! Not much news on my kidney stone - went to see a urologist on Monday. Found out that the worst (in regards to pain) has yet to come. Yikes! On an interesting note, I got a little "human specimen strainer" to catch the little bugger when it finally decides to exit. Too Much Information huh? Sorry.
Anyway, had a play-date with some friends last week Thursday. (Kidney Stone was Monday night with a horrid Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday were totally pain free!). I met up with my friends Marj and Lisa at the Spectrum with their kids (they each have an older child that's Tyler's age and a younger child that's ~1 year old). It was great getting out of the house, chatting and hanging out, having lunch, etc. It made the whole day go by so quick! Here's a photo of the 3 kids sleeping while I was getting an Invisible Shield applied to my iPhone.
Friday night (still pain free and I had thought that the stone was gone!) we headed to Buca di Beppo for dinner. Dinners out sure are tough now - not only are we dealing with Tyler (sit down! inside voice! ok, he's actually not that bad) but we're also hoping the whole time that Katelyn stays asleep. We're not so lucky most of the time. Oh well, gotta get used to it -- we're a family of four now! Here's Will with the kids.Tyler is getting better at potty training again- woo-hoo! Friday was a 0-accident day at school - which includes nap-time - he used the potty 4-5 times and kept his Thomas underwear dry. He is SO proud of wearing real underwear now (but we still put him in pull-up overnights diapers and sometimes when we're out on the weekends). His prize for an accident-free school day? Yogurt Land! We headed there after dinner for dessert. Here's Katelyn checking out her new mobile.
This past weekend we also completed the paperwork for a new house at Woodbury East - Santa Cruz. Will's parents will be moving to be closer to us once the house is completed (Aug-Sept? time frame). We're very excited to have them close with the kids and all. We even checked out the little park in the area afterward. Tyler was really happy - he had been cooped up indoors all day and needed to get rid of some energy. Here's Tyler very happy to be outside.
Here's Tyler on the seesaw. It was pretty overcast so I stayed in the car with Katelyn while Will and Tyler played.
Will's parents came by on Sunday - here's a couple pictures of Will's dad with Katelyn. I am still amazed at how much she looks like Tyler as a baby.
Thank goodness my mom came over Sunday night and spent the night with us. My urologist appointment took 2+ hours (with an x ray and everything) and I had originally just planned to go by myself. Whew, what a relief! What would I have done with Katelyn while I was getting an x-ray and stuff? Here's my mom with Katelyn. Stupid kidney stone - inconveniencing so many people! I am drinking TONS of fluids and actually getting on my treadmill at night. Be gone stone!
Wednesday my cousin Aileen visited us. She lives in SF and was in the OC for work. She's 33 weeks pregnant! It was exciting to see her and talk pregnancy stuff. I do NOT miss being pregnant though. Not yet anyway. Here's a photo.
Some silly photos from the week.
Here's Tyler... just being silly. He has been super loving recently. Lots of unprompted "I love you mama" and kisses. I'm happy that he no longer has a runny nose! He is still super silly - cracks us up with his antics. We've been reading the stories of Beatrix Potter for bedtime - he got this storybook from our friend John and he LOVES hearing the stories!
Here's Tyler playing with his trains. He hasn't noticed that I dismantled the plastic Thomas railroad tracks (a pain to vacuum around!) since he has the wooden set in the other room to play with. He still loves Thomas but lately he's showing more interest in Cars. We finally got the Cars movie from Netflix and he likes watching it. He always asks for "Lightning McQueen" except the way he pronounces it you would have no idea what he was saying... unless you knew.
Here's Katelyn! She is slowly losing all her hair, but at least her baby acne has mostly cleared up. Yay, no more black/white photos. :)
Another exciting thing - Katelyn can actually keep herself entertained in the different bouncers/rockers/swings we have for her. Finally! It is really adorable - she'll sit there and stare at whatever is dangling in front of her and make these super cute cooing sounds. I don't remember Tyler making these sounds at all. He must have? Maybe her sounds are just much more girly? Here's Katelyn on a bouncer.
And a last one of her. We're in trouble if her hair is going to follow the same path as Tyler's...
7 week bear picture.
and a video of Katelyn cooing!
Have a good week everyone! Hopefully next week my darn stone will be something of the past...

Yikes...kidney stone. Glad to hear the kids are doing great, but sorry about the stone. Hope you have a "quick pass" and feel better soon!
Awww, That video of Katelyn cooing is sooo cute! She really does look like Baby Tyler wearing pink! She's pretty advanced ! look at the way she concentrates and tries to communicate with Will. Too cute!!
Oh man, I hope your kidney stones pass without too much pain. You're so lucky to have your mom and your good friends there to help you.
And Katelyn is soooo adorable! The video of Will sticking his tongue out at her reminds me of what I do to Mason--now!--to keep him distracted while I change his diaper. LoL...
good luck w/ the potty training!! yogurtland is a good prize!
