Tyler's Atlantis adventure day 5! Big brunch, Royal Lagoon, and Nobu (Week 120)

Day 5 - Thursday!  Oh man, Tyler is getting used to vacation. He gets nonstop Dora the Explorer on when we're hanging out in the hotel, and he woke up at 4am asking for Dora!  Hmmm.  I reminded him that we were going to make sandcasltes that day and ride bicycles on the water ... but only if he was good!  Bribery... works everytime!

Tyler started getting his appetite back - finally!  He had been eating pretty small portions up until then, and it was a comfort to see him eat a whole bowl of oatmeal that morning.  After his breakfast, we headed back to the Royal Towers to check out the Eel feedings.  Tyler did not like the eels (I don't blame him either - they're pretty scary!)

Then we headed to the MarketPlace for their Brunch buffet.  Wow there was a lot of food!  This was like our 2nd meal out so far - and we really filled ourselves up!  Tyler loved the variety and ate a ton of food!  Gross moment - I mistakenly thought the butter was custard next to the pancakes - and got a giant dollop of it.  Gross!  Here's Will and Tyler - full and ready to hit the water!

Another beautiful day in paradise.

We decided to check out the Royal Lagoon beaches this day.  It's a lagoon that's connected to the ocean, but since it's a lagoon it's much calmer.  Unfortunately, there was debris in the water - not trash or anything - but like sea kelp and stuff.  Yuck - I was not feeling this - not after our day at the Blue Lagoon with super clean waters!  But it was a nice backdrop though for photos. :)

Here we had our chairs right up in the water.  We would get the sun, and then splash a little water onto ourselves if it got too hot.  How cool is that!  Here's Tyler and me checking out the fish.

We discovered that the fish like to eat bananas - and they'll swim right up to you to get them!

More playing in the water.  See the bridge in the background of this next picture?  Tyler kept wanting to go under the 'tunnel' but it was sectioned off for water sports only.  Aww.

Family picture!

Tyler even practiced swimming a little too!

More sand enjoyment!

Another family picture.

We finally decided to rent one of the water bicycles because Tyler had been good and he had been totally wanting to go on it.  There was some discussion about which color he wanted - he kept wanting the blue one that was totally unaccessible!  I kept suggesting the green one, and he finally took the bait and said he wanted the green one. :)

It was nice pedaling around the lagoon - kind of a lot of work for the legs though...Will wasn't too thrilled when I decided to take a break haha!

Here's a photo of the other water bikes on the lagoon so you can see what we were riding.  Funny thing is, about 5-10 minutes into our ride, Tyler fell asleep!  Silly baby.  But, for the record, I was getting sleepy too - the bobbing of the water is so relaxing!

We managed to climb off the bicycle and head back to our chairs.  Next on the agenda?  Napping with my little boy - best moments of the trip! :)

We headed back to Harborside after Tyler woke up (there was a little rain sprinkles too!) and ordered pizza from Dominos.  Yes we did!  We headed to the lobby to wait for the delivery (and used some free internet - man it was weird not having unlimited internet access, but I was too cheap for the $14.95 cost a day!).  We ate dinner around 6pm and were SO full...and Will and I still had made dinner reservations for 8:30pm at Nobu!  The idea was to not be famished by the time we got there - which was no problem, because we were so stuffed!

I was a little worried about leaving Tyler (for the first time) with Trina while we went out - but Tyler was more than happy to see us leave.  At first when I told him mommy and daddy were leaving, he got sad and didn't want us to leave.  Then I told him that he would get to play with Auntie Trina.  His response?  He jumped onto the pullout couch with Trina and waved/said "bye-bye" without even looking at us!  Sheesh! haha!

Dinner was yummy - not as great as I remember the Nobu in New York being though.  I was so stuffed anyway from the pizza...and my craving for california rolls wasn't even fulfilled since it wasn't even that tasty (strange!).  I had the miso cod and Will had the spicy tuna salad.  We ended with a yummy yummy dessert though!  It was definitely nice having a night out. :)  Trina gave us a full report when we got back to the hotel - Tyler was GREAT and answered every question she asked with "OK!".  !! This from the kid who says "no" to everything before he even knows what we're asking!  Ahhh - he must be in love with his Auntie Trina. :)
