Violins, Pretending and Soup Plantation!! (Week 115)

Oh man, things are quite difficult over at our place this week. We don't have many happy campers here! I've been in constant pain from Shingles, Will has been under the weather with headaches, and Tyler is...Tyler! haha! Tyler's been having a really hard time with drop-offs at his school - which leads to extra stress for all of us. Sigh. Things can only get better! :)

This past week Tyler's school had a family fun night at Soup Plantation. It's quite silly how much I enjoy Soup Plantation - especially when I have coupons! hehe. It's not that the food is fabulous or anything, but I love that there's a large selection of choices for Tyler and it's ok if he's noisy. It was definitely a lot of fun to see Tyler's friend's and their families - a lot of them I haven't seen since Tyler's birthday party in July. Here's Will with Tyler and his bff Vincent!
Group shot! It's great that we get along so well with the parents of Tyler's friends - especially because it can be so difficult to really find parents that have the same interests and stuff. This picture is funny because Vincent decided he wasn't going to turn around. heehee.
Here's Vincent and Tyler with one of their previous teachers Daniela - Tyler had her in the infant room and she also moved to the toddler room when he did!
So, Tyler was snooping around in the living room and came across his violin that I had hid behind the couch. Only after promising to listen carefully did we let him try it out again. He's totally improved since the last time he played with it! I was pretty surprised to see how hard he seems to be concentrating.
Here's a couple videos of Tyler playing. You may want to turn down the volume - because it is QUITE ear-piercing. Eesh. That must be how I sounded when I first started learning! But watch his concentration and see how focused he seems to be!

This one is cute too - he's actually singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star while he's screaching on the violin. How musical of him. :) Now if only I could stop wincing from the violin's sounds!

Mmmm - ice cream! Did you know McDonald's has something called a Double Cone? I had never heard of it. It worked out great since they just split it into two cones with less ice cream on it. Yum!

This weekend we headed out to Pretend City again - we're totally getting our money's worth of the membership! I promise I'll stop posting pictures from there...after this post! - I'm sure it gets quite repetitive!

Tyler, as usual, loved pumping gas on the little car. He always helps Will when we're really pumping gas! While he was pumping that day, some other kid sat into the car and Tyler got really upset! haha!
Here's Tyler and Vincent zooming around in a couple cars. It's amazing how much abuse the toys have taken, and the place hasn't even been open a full month yet! For instance, Tyler's car used to have a canopy, and Vincent's car is missing a side-view mirror (and the other one is barely hanging on!). Kids are so destructive.
There was a building area that kids had actually built real house frames! I thought it was pretty impressive - Tyler and Vincent really enjoyed running around laughing and giggling inside.
Tyler's favorite fruit - strawberries! He really enjoying picking the strawberries from the little holes where they were located on the wall behind him. He worked hard to gather every single strawberry in the farm area into his basket.
Here's cashier Tyler helping Vincent with his purchases at the grocery store.
Vincent decided that he wanted to handle the transaction and helped Tyler on the register. At one point, they were busy helping other kids checking out that they not only gave customers their purchases but cash from the register as well (win-win for the lucky shoppers!).
Both Tyler and Vincent made their way to the pretend cooler areas and each took turns chugging milk from the carton. They really enjoyed their drinks.
Tyler never seems to get enough of pretending to make calls on the telephone. Whether it's on our home phone, our cell phones, or at the phones at Pretend City. Here's a few shots of Tyler making some prank calls! (The second photo looks as though he got caught doing something!)
Tyler and Vincent taking a nice drive together in the little car and waving at bystanders.
Here's a few shots of them climbing through the tunnel that was just sitting out. We're not even sure what prompted this since there is just so much more going on around them.
Enjoying some pretend lunch at the little restaurant. Of course, it wouldn't be complete until Tyler prepared a pizza for daddy and Vincent.
Hope everyone has an illness free week - we're headed to Disneyland next week! YAY! :)
