So, what went on this past week? First, we had a visitor one night: Tyler's BFF Vincent! We always really enjoy having Vincent over - the boys have so much fun together! We started them out with dinner together. Tyler's so weird, he saw the 2nd high chair (the portable one) that we pulled out and insisted on sitting in it! I thought he might want his normal once since it's what he's used to, but nope!
After dinner the boys had a blast playing with lots of different toys. There wasn't too much of a non-sharing problem this time - yay! You can tell in this photo how Tyler is hoarding all of his trains though. Sigh.
Here's a video of the boys playing in the little ball pit.
On Friday, my sister Kareen came to town for work so she got to hang out with Tyler! Tyler can even clearly call her 'Er Yi' - which means 2nd Aunt in Chinese. It was funny though, one of the kids at Tyler's daycare saw Kareen and said 'Tyler mommy!' Haha. Here we are all hanging out in Tyler's playhouse.
Kareen has so much energy to play with Tyler! I took the welcome break and hung out on the couch and watched them. :) Tyler really is exhausting - he never stops! Kareen was pushing him around fast in his car and he was shreaking and laughing!
Here's a video of Kareen pushing Tyler around.
We got this balloon that Tyler walked around with tied to his foot. He was having a good time just bouncing it. :) Here's Tyler kicking his balloon foot.
Then he started to hug and squeeze it and we all braced ourselves. Whew, thank goodness it didn't pop. He does love balloons and bubbles!
We had Korean BBQ (shik do rak) for dinner and Tyler was GREAT! He never even fussed to get out of his seat - it was pretty amazing. Thank goodness for my iPhone videos! Here's Tyler going to town on his yummy soup!
Yay! That night when Tyler was in bed, he said 'Night Night Ba-Ba, Night Night Ma-Ma, Night Night Er Yi'! Awwww! Too bad Kareen missed it and didn't hear on the monitor. Next time!
Saturday was HOT! We headed to a nearby Irvine park where they were celebrating 'Week of the Child' or something like that. It was basically a community event with lots of booths showcasing different activities and programs for kids. Tyler's favorite thing? The firetruck!
He literally would not get out of it - he loved crawling around and pressing the buttons. I had to have a fireman assure me that Tyler wouldn't accidentally get the crane going or drive off. haha. We finally had to pull him out so that other kids could get a turn, but he crawled right in on the other side!
Tyler's awesome daycare/school - the Irvine Child Development Center - had a booth at the park as well. It's nice since we know the teachers and the administrators - and they all know Tyler too! That's one of the reasons I love this school, everyone is so nice! Parents would come up to find out more information, and were always surprised to hear how long the waitlist is! Here's Tyler playing with the bubbles at the booth.
Here's a video of Tyler playing with the bubbles.
As we all know, Tyler does NOT like sharing at all. This picture is pretty hilarious, some other kids were coming to play and one kid kind of nudged him trying to get to the bubble bucket. Man, what a dirty look Tyler gave him!
Tyler's BFF Vincent and his family came too! It is so cute that Tyler will yell 'Bin-cent! Bin-cent!' and run around looking for him. They are just so cute together! Here they are mid hug. :)
Whew that was a hot day. I thought I was going to melt. Tyler sure does love being outside though. We picked up a new bubble dispenser - a 'No-Spill' bubble bucket. Thank goodness for whoever thought of that! We've had so many incidents of Tyler spilling entire bubble bottles, and he gets really angry when we don't let him hold it! This bucket he can carry around with a handle and the mixture is set so low that it's tough to spill unless you hold it really at an angle! Tyler LOVED his bubble bucket (and we didn't have to worry about him wasting more..)!
Sunday morning was Tyler's friend Jovanni's 2nd birthday party at the Kid's Gym here in Irvine. I've been meaning to check out this place, but this was our first time there. I loved it and can't wait to take Tyler back! There were so many things for the kids to play with! Tyler loved it all! They had tons of things to climb through/on, gymnastic type stuff, even a zip line! Here he is on a slide.
Here's Tyler and Vincent in one of the playsets. It was really cute seeing Tyler and a lot of his school friends. Tyler would call out 'Sut-ton!, Sut-ton!' to one of his friends and Sutton would call back 'What Ty-der?'. And then later Sutton's mom was calling for Sutton and Tyler pointed to Sutton and said 'Sut-ton right there!'. So cute!
One of Tyler's favorite thing? A play kitchen! He loved the child sized cooking mit. :) He's always opening one of the kitchen drawers and putting on the giant ones we have, so he must be stoked to have some that actually fit him. Tyler kept putting a plastic banana into the oven here. hehe.
Short clip of Tyler in the ballpit with his friends! This picture made me realize how big Tyler has grown. He's like a little boy now, just hanging out. Plus his hair is finally getting thicker too - yay!
The boys loved pushing this shopping cart around the gym. They would get a running start and zoom around! Notice Tyler's still wearing his little cooking mitt...
Here's Tyler bouncing around on the trampoline there.
And lastly, a lunch picture. There was pizza that Tyler didn't touch at all. Good or bad? I'm realizing Tyler is WAY too picky with food and it's totally our fault. I will win the next food battle and get him to each vegetables. We seriously need to ban chicken nuggets in our home. At least he loves his fruit - strawberries, grapes, bananas, pineapples, etc. Here he is with his current favorite - strawberries!
All in all, the party was great fun! Near the end though, the kids were getting tired and cranky and there was LOTS of random crying. Tyler was the worst! (I think anyway). He doesn't understand sharing at ALL and will just sit down, put his head on his arms and cry so sadly. Gets very frustrating. Hopefully he'll learn he can't have everything!
Sunday evening we had a family together with my parents, my inlaws and my brother and his wife. It's always nice getting everyone together, and Tyler was super chummy with everyone too. My brother and his wife bribed him with strawberries - a no-brainer and Tyler was easily won over. :) LOVE this photo below - Tyler gets really excited when we sit for photos and the camera timer goes off - he starts laughing, squealing, and clapping! In this shot, right when the camera took the photo, he was cheering and pointing! Haha!
Tyler and his grandmother (my mother-in-law). Hopefully they'll move to Irvine soon! They really are great with Tyler - they totally spoil him too!
Lastly, a pix with the girls! Our new HH place is Ra Sushi at the District in Irvine - 1/2 off appetizer and sushi! $1 hot sake! Yum! (ok not the sake part, but yes the sushi part).
Mariam and I took Trina out this weekend for her birthday. Started out with Chinese massages which were perfect and cheap! And then dinner at Roy's Seafood at Fashion Island. I totally forgot how delicious Roy's was - I haven't been there since college (the SF one and Maui one). We had this roll with Kobe beef on it that was ridicuously delicious - words still can not describe it. YUM!
A couple pictures of Tyler to leave you with. This one Kareen snapped right after Tyler had put his clothes in the hamper (before bathtime). Dang, look at that tummy! haha! He looks like he's going to be a ladies man I think. hehe.
Another YogurtLand trip for Tyler! Great iPhone picture courtesy of Kareen. He loves it!
Have a good week everyone, and try to stay cool!

Wow that gym looks like so much fun! Although I'd have to get used to having so many other kids around - they look like they come out of no where and try to knock Tyler over! Balloon tied to his foot is a fun idea, too cute!
