Happy Groundhog's Day! (week 82)

Happy Groundhog's Day everyone! Looks like it's going to be 6 more weeks of Winter...

This past week Tyler's school had a fundraiser at Ruby's here in Irvine. They've had some before but either Will was out of town or Tyler was too young to eat out. This time was perfect! We met up with our friend Julie and her son Vincent who is Tyler's BFF! :) They are so cute together! Here they are sitting together at our table. We were hoping they'd encourage each other to eat - but that didn't happen. It was all laughing and giggles until the fries came. Tyler is very protective of his fries! Next time we'll know to give them different mats. They both did enjoy their organic milk though!
After dinner, the boys played outside in a little sandy area with giant frogs. It was so cute watching them talk to each other - it really sounds like they're having a conversation!

Here are some random pictures from the week:

Tyler has been more receptive or wearing hats recently - yay! Here he is trying on my baseball cap.

We hit up a couple stores this weekend to browse some snow gear and Tyler was very interested in the shoe-sizing instruments. Sadly, I think he's starting to outgrow his Pikachu shoes! :(
Tyler was pretty uncooperative on our Costco trip so we finally put him in the cart when we were checking out. Total no-no I'm sure.
Here's Tyler riding a super cute pink kid's snowboard! It was SO cute! I can't wait until Tyler can get on the slopes with us! I think minimum age for the snowboarding/skiing school at resorts are 4-5... still so many years left!
Oooh, Tyler grabbed this newsboy cap at REI by himself and put it on. It was so cute! We need to actually get him a new fisherman bucket hat - he outgrew his old one!
Some news on another front - Tyler pooped in his potty for the first time this past week! Yeah, it was probably a total fluke, but he was sitting on his potty with a book and he pooped! We aren't actually really trying to potty train Tyler - more just putting him on the potty after meals and before bath time so that he gets used to the idea. I don't think Tyler is ready for potty training yet, but it doesn't hurt to get him acquainted with it!

Have a good week everyone!

Maybe the snowboarding is genetic.
Sidenote: Uncle Will, women stop aging at 29.

yay! definitely just try to get them used to the potty as soon as possible.. it'll take awhile till you go hardcore, but there are some great books and stuff too i can recommend if you want.

Man... I really want to find a newsboy hat like the one at the end of the post that actually fits Tyler. I love how that looks on him in his preppy outfits.
