Kareen visits and we get a Xmas tree (week 75)

Hi everyone! So, last week was not too fun since Will was on business travel in Atlanta, but thank goodness he wasn't gone for too long. Whenever Will is on travel, I realize how hard single moms have it! It's tough!

Tyler had a pretty good week, except for an accident at school. He was climbing this little thing they have (which is just a few steps and a ramp, something he has done hundreds of times!) and he slipped and bit his tongue. I wasn't there, but I heard from a teacher that there was a LOT of blood, I even saw the dried blood on her sweater! Ack! (Did I mention I felt pretty lightheaded when they were telling me this?). They said that Tyler was quite a trooper though - he didn't cry for too long and was really happy about the popsicle they gave him (to ice his tongue). All the other kids were apparently very jealous that Tyler got to have a popsicle. They said he was fine until lunchtime when he tried to eat the pineapple chunks I had packed for him (that he loves!) but the acidity caused him pain and made him start to cry again. Poor Tyler!

Tyler's also been into dress-up at school - we found a photo of him on the camera we leave at school - dressed as a princess! heehee!
Yay, Kareen came down to visit this weekend! Even though it was only for one day, we packed in lots and were really happy to have her. Tyler loves having her around to play with, and kiss and slobber all over.
They even had fun playing with a bunch of chopsticks that Tyler somehow found deep in a drawer - the chopstick dance!
This weekend we picked up our Christmas tree - and Will was correct - we got it on sale! 25% off! Whoohoo! Will had almost convinced me that we didn't need one this year since Tyler was old enough to be pulling off the ornaments, but thank goodness I didn't give in. I'm pretty sure it's going to have to be mandatory thing each year. :)

Also, it was so cold this weekend, I actually got Tyler to wear a hat!
Here's a video of Tyler running around the lot. After a bit he became determined to try to run into the parking lot! Ack! I can't wait until I can really, uh, discipline him for not listening. It's dangerous!

Here's the finished tree! Of course we ended up doing it after Tyler was in bed, so everything was done in whispers...This picture came out really yellow - I swear, the tree is much prettier in person. Next year - maybe we'll do house lights too! :)
The first thing Tyler did the next morning when he saw the tree was start pulling off ornaments. Sigh. After three (or four), he he got bored of hearing us say "No Tyler" and lost interest. Whew. We also have to be careful since Mojo has a habit of batting at the lower ornaments on the tree...Our first gifts under the tree - from the teachers at Tyler's daycare!Tyler's been getting some new toys lately (I can't help it - some of the Christmas sales are ridiculous!) but he still loves his ball popper...and so does Kareen! Here's Kareen not sharing. haha. Can't wait until you visit again Kareen!
One of Tyler's new toys is a new drawing table. He's quite... artistic! Actually, I'm just happy that he's not munching on the crayons anymore. :)Yay, and another visitor this week - our good friend Heidi and her friend Chris. Tyler was surprisingly really friendly with Chris - and it was his first time meeting him! Thanks for visiting! And we'll end with a video of Tyler working out... on my treadmill. heehee.

Have a good week-before-Christmas everyone!

Haha! That princess outfit is hilarious. Normally, we say when we're older, that some of the outfits our parents chose for us as toddlers are embarrassing.

In this case, you can tell Tyler when he's older that he did it to himself! :D
