Tyler has his 15th month dr. appt, and golfs!

Hi everyone! Wow, it's sure been windy these past few days here in Orange County - and it's gone from hot to cold almost overnight - finally, our air conditioning bill will no longer be so crazy!

FIRST off, I want to point out a new gadget I've added to the right (which I took off of my friend Ruby's blog about her adorable little Avery!). Tyler's Fans! I know you guys are out there reading and although ya'll don't always leave comments - now is the time to show me the love. Become a fan and it'll make you feel less guilty for reading and not leaving a comment. :) do it! I think all you need is a gmail account - which no one in this day and age doesn't have, right?

Tyler had a fun week - come to think of it - aren't all his weeks fun? Tyler turned 15 months this past week and had his 15 month doctor checkup. How's he measuring up? Let's see, 25 pounds (81%) and 33 inches (96%). I knew there was a reason people always thought he was older than he was - he's a big boy - but more tall than heavy. lucky him! His head circumference was around 30% I think.

Strangely, this time it was as if Tyler remembered the doctor's office being a not-so-fun place. He walked down the hall to the office happily, but as soon as I opened the door, he paused - looked around inside - and started backing up. Could he actually remember? Tyler got a few more shots (will they ever end?) and screamed his head off. Poor Tyler. Thank goodness he didn't seem to have any bad reaction to any of them over the next few days. Here's Tyler getting weighed (he already had that star on when I picked him up from daycare - all the kids had them, heehee!)

This past week was also picture day at Tyler's daycare! I was lamely super excited and stayed around in the morning to watch. Hmm, probably wasn't such a great ideas as Tyler would see me and want me to hold him. I finally had to hide outside. Unfortunately, our usual cracking-up-hysterically Tyler was super serious that morning...stared at the photographer and never even cracked a smile. Oh well. Still cute, hopefully!
I had forgotten Tyler's lunch one of the days so I had to head back later in the day to drop it off. I came right when the kids were outside doing waterplay. How adorable is this? They change all the kids into big t-shirts that they can get soaked in - look at Tyler on the little bike!My 2nd uncle and aunt from New York were visiting and stopped by to see us and Tyler. This is my favorite uncle (my dad has 3 brothers and a sister), and the last time I saw him was when Kareen/I visited NY a few years ago. It was great to see them! However, he's just like my dad - LOUD! hehe, and Tyler doesn't do so well with that.
Another park visit for Tyler. There are so many parks here in Irvine that we're always trying out some new ones. This is the one at the elementary school super close to us - Tyler was going down the slides all by himself (with me holding my breath of course). He'd go down squealing, and then try to climb back up.All the playgrounds are so fun for Tyler now - he has to play with everything a little bit before he moves on to the next thing. Gotta keep hydrated from all the playing!
Will's parents came over to visit again and had a great time playing with Tyler. Here's 3 generations of Chang men reading together. (We made a reading corner for Tyler in our living room, I think I'm finally done buying pillows for it!).
And then we took Tyler golfing! He started out with his plastic Snoopy putter, but quickly decided he wanted to use Will's real putter instead. He finally got the concept that the ball goes down the hole, but he was quite attached to the balls and would only fake put them in (never letting them out of his fingers). Then he would walk around with 2 balls in one hand, only stopping to reposition them once in a while when he started to lose his grip.
Here's a video of Tyler excited on the putting green!

It was super cute watching Tyler walk around the putting green - we'll have to add that more often to our weekend schedule.

Here's Tyler taking a break with a drink. Golfing is hard work!
This past weekend we also took Tyler to take his 15 month portraits. We've taken Tyler to get his photo taken every month ever since he was born, and we decided that after 12 months, we'd only go every 3 months - it was just taking too much time. Unfortunately, I wasn't slick enough to snap a photo of any of the screenshots, so you'll have to wait 2 weeks or so. Here's a shot of Will and Tyler in his photo gear though - super cute!
They had a tractor there for a themed event they were going to hold (costed extra, so we passed) But Tyler got to play with it while we waited. He LOVED it - he would not get off that thing. Another boy (maybe 5?) came up and asked Will if he could have a turn... but there's no explaining sharing to Tyler! He eventually got off it, but not after jumping around and squealing. I told Will we should get one for Tyler...joking of course!...
Miscellaneous picture of the week - bathtime Tyler! I had another really cute one, but it was eh, x-rated. heehee. Some funny moments this week - Tyler is starting go "Mmmmmm" when he's hungry or eating something he likes. It's silly. Plus he seems to know to give kisses in both English and Chinese - still super slobbery though!

Here's a video of Tyler and his crazy driving at the supermarket in the racecar-cart. Crazy driver - better stay out of his way!

Here's a video of Tyler learning different shapes! I'm not entirely convinced that he knows to match the shapes (as you can tell by my commentary) but he's on his way to learning them at least!

That's all for this week folks! Here you guys are - end of the post - now become a Tyler Fan and let me know! :) Right now. Don't wait until later when you have time - it's seriously 1 click of a button. Don't make me threaten to make this blog private! haha! :)
