We'll start out real quick with photos from Tyler's 12 month photos (yes, back in July!). I figure I'll be picking up his 15 month photos this weekend so better get these additional ones up. This was the same shoot as this photo.
You can't really tell in this picture, but Tyler actually has a tear rolling down one cheek ( a result of bad scheduling on the studio's part).
I feel like he looks so different now, but maybe it's just me...
Tyler is quite into anything electronic still. Chances are, if you've called us on our cell phone, you've probably been hung up on before once Tyler gets the phone and starts pressing buttons. He's great at pretending to talk on phones though. We usually let him play with anything (cell phones, my point-and-shoot camera, remote controls, etc) but we definitely don't let him get his hands on Will's DSLR. Tyler doesn't like that. Here's a shot of him trying to get it from Will (unconsciously, I think he's calling Will a loser [note the L shape in his fingers] since Will won't give in! hehe).
Poor Mojo. Always getting tackled by Tyler. He does seem to have quite an annoyed look on his face, doesn't he? He hasn't figured out that Tyler is freaked out by Mojo licking him though - or else he'd do it more often I bet.
Tyler got bitten by a kid in school last week! GASP! Can you believe it?! Supposedly this is the age that kids can start to bite, but to have proof on my little boy's arm? Unacceptable! Just kidding. The teachers say Tyler doesn't bite, but he's good at hitting and pushing. Yay? This bite was supposedly the result of Tyler trying to take a bucket and shovel away from another (name not disclosed) kid. Poor Tyler!
Tyler has been fighting bathtime a lot recently, so I loaded up on some (hopefully) more fun bathtoys. That Elmo bathtoy was like $8! Sheesh. But he does seem to like the Elmo Bathbook though, whew. You'd think he'd get used to baths by now - he gets one every day! I think it would be ideal to have like a TV or something in the bathroom to watch Sesame Street or something. (Will...?? hehe)
So... Vegas!! How the heck did we decide to go to Vegas? Well, 3 reasons. 1) Our good friend Tony was turning 30, 2) Tony scored us a free room! and 3) did I mention the free room? I'm such a pushover when it comes to free stuff. Plus it was only going to be for one night (we drove out Saturday noon-ish and came back Sunday afternoon) and Will's parents were great enough to come over to our place and spend the night and watch Tyler for us. That made things SO much easier since we didn't have to pack up a huge amount of stuff for Tyler to go over to their place. Tyler's 15 months old - it's allowed for us to have one night away, right?
Our free room at Harrahs. Yes, Harrahs! I was a little hesitant about staying there, since it's, well, Harrah's, but I was pleasantly surprised. I guess they had remodeled one of their towers, but I was still wasn't expecting much. Besides, for FREE, I'm not complaining! The best thing about spending a night away was being able to SLEEP IN!! Tyler wakes up normally about ~5:45am, so we were totally looking forward to not having a built in wake-up call. Unfortunately, we didn't get to bed until 5am-ish, so .... our sleeping in until 11am, wasn't really sleeping in...
We all had dinner and drinks at the Voodoo Lounge at Rio's (another place we rarely go to) but it turned out to be fun. Here's a picture of me and Tony on the rooftop bar/lounge area. Happy Birthday Tony!
Will and I made some cool new friends on this trip- here's Will and I with Tony's cousin Elaine and his friends Jimmie and Anthony. The boys live right here in Irvine (we totally should have carpooled!) and are ridiculously fun to hang out with. I can't wait for them to meet Tyler!
So even though Vegas was fun (as always), I totally missed Tyler and have vowed to never leave him again. Ok, so probably not possible, but that's how I feel at the moment. Tyler, on the other hand, didn't even notice we were gone since he was busy having so much fun with grandma/grandpa who let him do anything and also give him Yogurtland right before dinner! hehe. Some silly pictures of Tyler: Tyler wants to be like mommy and drink water from water bottles. Too bad he chews up his straw so much that it's hard to get the water out!
Tyler stacking cups. One of his favorite things to do is to stack them up high and knock them down. Then he repeats.
Look! A bear picture! We actually remembered! Week 68!
And finally, a short video showing that Tyler is WAY too big to play in his exersaucer. Man, this thing was quite expensive from what I remember, and he never was too into it (not like how much he loved his Jumperoo!). I think one of our nannies used it primarily as distraction to get him to drink a little more milk. Hopefully the next baby will enjoy it more!
Have a good week/Halloween!
