63 weeks! Tyler celebrates his buddy Jake's birthday, and our 10 year anniversary!

What a busy week we've had. First off, Tyler is growing a molar - his upper left. From what I've read, this can be quite uncomfortable, and I'm attributing Tyler's horrible temper tantrums to them... which I'm sure will magically stop (along with the drooling) once he stops teething...Yeah right! I must say, his fits of anger are quite fierce and rage-fueled - not sure where he learned that from! But even with his blowups, he is still usually squealing and laughing up a storm. :) Here's Tyler in a serious moment. Ooh! We had an old college friend Christian come visit us as well. He is in town every once in a while and it's always great to catch up! Tyler is extremely ticklish - like me! Someone told me that babies don't like to be tickled (hey, I believe it, it is NOT fun) but Tyler seems to love it and laughs so hard. He's really ticklish right above his knees too, like me! Ah, a happy non-moving Tyler. This is quite rare. Tyler is ALWAYS on the go. Go-Go-Go! We don't know where he gets all the energy. He's switched to 1 nap a day at daycare now though (from his previous 2) - but he's getting in almost 3 hours in that nap!I did my good deed for the year! I donated the frozen breastmilk I had taking up all the room in our freezer. This milk is going to some lab that will use it to make medicine for premature and sick babies in hospitals. Yay! I'm so happy some good is coming out of it, and it's not going to be tossed. It was a little bittersweet as I packed up the bags though - I remembered all the pumping I did (so glad that's over with!) and all the worrying I did when Tyler hated bottles. But in the end, I've got a healthy baby and someone else's baby will benefit, so I'm not complaining. By the way, the lab sent their largest cooler, and I barely was able to fit half of the bags in there! I sent in about 50 bags, and had about ~250 ounces. I'm pretty sure with baby #2 I won't be so crazy. :) This past weekend we got to help celebrate the 3rd birthday of Jake, our friends Jeff & Joan's little boy! First off, it was in Santa Monica... as in NOT OC. Many of you probably know that Will and I don't really leave OC very often, but this was a very special event that we couldn't miss! It was a lot of fun, especially for Tyler who loved the balloons. He couldn't take his eyes off of them when they got there. Here's a group shot of all the kids with the balloons. No matter how many photos we took, we couldn't get one of Tyler's face because he couldn't stop squealing and staring at the balloons. I kept going up and turning him around, but he'd turn around immediately! So we gave up. That's birthday boy Jake in the stripes! I think Tyler's still thinking about the balloons here. We were lucky enough to take 2 of them home with us, but then discovered that (ahem, Will, ahem) they had somehow managed to escape from the car and fly away. Sneaky balloons. Sniff sniff. I think I was more sad than Tyler, who didn't even notice. Ooh, there was some delicious chocolate birthday cake as well. Tyler was really loving it too. Here's Jake playing with some of the gifts we got him - singing Elmo Sesame Street books! He seemed to really like them - yay! Baller Tyler! Probably on a sugar high from all that cake - Tyler was loving playing with the basketball and kickball. He'd pick one up, walk a few steps, and throw it down and go 'DOOHH'! That basketball is so huge compared to him! Guys and little boys. We're actually missing a little baby boy for the guy (Jimmy) 2nd from the left. There was a set of little girl twins there too, same age as Tyler, that were super cute! Here's Tyler and me with our friends Jeff/Chrissy. They're the couple who's wedding we went to last month and had such a great time! After the party at the park, we went back to Jeff/Joan's place where Tyler got to play with one of Jake's balloons! These were super fancy awesome balloons, there was even an Elmo and Cookie Monster one! Jake was kind of enough to share and let Tyler play with his toys. I'm realizing that the whole 'sharing' concept does not come easy to kids - no matter the age. Tyler can only play dumb about it for so long... This past week Will and I celebrated 10 years of being together! When I say Anniversary, people think we've been married for 10 years (yikes!), which makes me wonder if people think I'm either a lot older than I am, or I got married super young. Regardless, 10 years! Will and I celebrated by getting a sitter (3rd time ever) and going out to dinner. We had a delicious prime rib (what else!) dinner at our favorite restaurant Five Crowns in Corona Del Mar and followed that with chocolate fondue at the Melting Pot (I had a $15 off, no minimum purchase, flier- sweet!). The Melting Pot knew it was our anniversary so they had a little card and rose for us. Doesn't my Love Martini look delicious? It was! Afterwards, since we were right across the street, we decided to head back to our old condo community and walk around. I really enjoyed living there - loved the condo, all the green belts, the beautiful pool, covered basketball courts (for Will), and especially all the tennis courts - plus this is where, ahem, Tyler came to be! I still remember hearing finding out I was pregnant there, and hearing Tyler's heartbeat for the first time. I imagined another happy couple living there and .... saw this in the window: Foreclosed! How sad to see! Sniff sniff. And it's only been a little over a year since we moved out (May 07). Oh well. Still, it was a nice romantic night out, reminiscing about the last 10 years. :)

Some random pictures:

One of the shows that we let Tyler watch is 'Ni Hao, Kailan!'. It's kind of like a Dora the Explorer, but Kailan teaches Chinese phrases. It's pretty cute too! Usually when Tyler is throwing a temper tantrum, Kailan will make him stop. This photo looks like he's totally engrossed in the show, but in reality he had been rolling around angrily on the bed.
Whoohoo, look at Tyler's basketball shoes - they're Lebrons! I managed to get them on this past weekend (Tyler has quite chubby feet), and I'm not sure if they'll even fit again this weekend! Tyler is now fully adjusted (I think) to the toddler room in his daycare. He doesn't have any problems going down for naps (he sleeps the longest!) and is getting better at taking direction. The other day Will and I were picking him up, and he came over to us with one shoe on. We told him to go get the other shoe, and ... HE DID! ?!? I still think it was some fluke, I'm having a hard time believing that Tyler is not my little baby anymore! Here's some shots that the teachers took one day.

Sure hope that stuff is edible! This is Tyler and his buddy Sutton. They always play together, but lately Sutton has gotten much pushier (he's 4 months older, and has a big brother too). Snacktime! This is one of my favorite things about Tyler's daycare - the kids all know that they have to sit down during snack time! I love watching them all sit together. The other day we came to pick up Tyler and they were having story time and Tyler was sitting right in the front - so enthralled. The teacher would sing and he would rock back and forth to the music. It was so cute! We actually remembered this week - a bear photo! Granted, we remembered after Tyler was down for the night, but Will was brave enough to sneak one in. My, is he getting big. 15 month check up in 2 weeks! Have a great week everyone!

Hmmmmm. Daycares MUST have some secret, magic formula that they feed to kids. How do they get them to cooperate all at the same time?!?

HOLY MOLY that's alot of breastmilk! I was using the medela pump and save bags cuz i have a medela pump and then i realized the medela bags are like twice expensive as the Lansinoh bags, so i switched over. Hey is that how you're supposed to freeze the milk, lying flat?
