Tyler's an Artist, celebrates a friend's 1st birthday, and sees a giant fish!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a nice weekend! We've been having some really great weather here lately, and Tyler is loving being outdoors! His favorite thing are fountains - which is great since Irvine has them everywhere! I haven't let him actually play in any of them yet (the ones that pop up from the ground) but maybe one of these days when we're more prepared. For now, Tyler is just happy getting his hands (and face) wet! This past weekend was our daycare's (the Irvine Child Development Center) annual Art Fair! It's basically a fundraising event, but with lots of food and fun stuff for the kids. All the kids had their art work on display that you could purchase, as well as silent auctions and raffles! Will's parents came along and it was nice to get a break and have them chase after Tyler! Here's Will's dad and Tyler - he was so tired from following Tyler all over the playground!
It was really cool seeing all the artwork on display - the school ages of the kids are from Infant (Tyler's class!) to Pre-3 I think. Some of the art was really cool and neat! They cost $10 for one, and $15 for 2. Of course we bought both of Tyler's pieces - what parent would go and not!? OK, so we already get Tyler's artwork from class but these had nice matching frames on them, and I had no problem donating since we LOVE this school! I could not gush enough about them!
Here's one of Tyler's pieces. What do you think does Tyler have talent? This one was finger painting, and his other one was ice cube painting!
Here's a shot of Tyler with his teachers. They are all such caring ladies!
Here's Tyler and one of his teachers Irene. She is usually there when we pick up Tyler and fills us in on his day. Tyler looks all hot and sweaty... because he is! It was a hot day and he was running all around. Good thing I lathered sunblock on him!
Tyler knows good art when he sees it. Here he is admiring his artwork after we purchased it and took it off of display. :) I wonder if he remembers drawing it!
One of my girlfriends is in town so I got some of my girlfriends together for some girltime! It's nice having a break every once in a while and catch up with friends! This past weekend was also our friend Sandia/Jeff's son Ethan's 1st birthday party! Yay! And what a party it was! It was a superman theme (see Ethan's cute costume below), which was really cute! Tyler actually has the same superman costume - he was Superman for Halloween last year! This picture has a funny story behind it. Will was holding Ethan and bouncing him, and Tyler got jealous and wanted Will to hold him! So Will tried to give Ethan to someone around him - lots of family - but Ethan wanted to be held by Will! Tyler was getting really upset though, and Will finally gave Ethan to a family member nearby to pick up Tyler. But then Ethan got really upset! He actually stuck his arm out towards Will, closed his eyes, and cried! Result: Will holding both boys. Tyler is looking kind of jealous here huh! So cute, these boys are going to be great friends - they're only 3 weeks apart!

Here's Will and myself with Jeff and Sandia, and our boys in the Cadillac car that Ethan got as a gift. How cute is that!
The party was a lot of fun - there were tons of little kids/babies there! It was nice meeting other mommies and making new friends. Here's me, my new friend Rosemary, and Sandia.
Here's a cute couple of pictures of Tyler playing in the Escalade. Oh my goodness, he LOVED it, LOVED it! Doesn't he look cool in it?
Tyler's got game now with his Escalade -here he is showing his slick moves in trying to pick up a chick!
Success! Tyler's got the girl into his car... but now what?!
Babies'R'Us had their 'Super Friday' sale last week, and they opened at 8am instead of their usual 930am. Guess who was there at 8:15am? Yup! Will/I headed there early last week to pick up 4 boxes of diapers since they were having a $15 gift card free for every 2 boxes! Time to stock up! Plus I got Tyler this little Sesame Street couch that I have had my eye on for a while. Its normally $34.99, but was $20 off that day, and with another $5 off coupon - I got it for $10! Whoohoo! I love it - and Tyler really seemed to like that it was his size! Here he is getting comfortable and lounging in it.
I cut my hair! Ok, not very noticeable, but thought I'd share a picture anyway cuz Tyler is so darn cute in this one.Today was quite a day too! I had lunch with my friend Mariam, who I haven't seen in many many many years! We knew each other like, what, 10 year ago? Turns out she lives super close to us in Irvine! Tyler was in a grumpy mood today though, so she didn't get to see him at his cutest! Next time!
After work, we headed up to Hacienda Heights since my dad was coming back from a weekend of deep-sea fishing. He had 12 fish- and they were HUGE! - yellowtail, mahi mahi, and a bluefin tuna. YUM! We actually ate some of the tuna sashimi before we left - it was delicious and melted in my mouth! Now that's FRESH sashimi! Here's my dad, 2 yellowtail, me and Tyler, my mom, Will's parents, and Andy's(Kareen's husband) parents. It was fun all getting together and preparing the fish! Unfortunately, Will and I had to take off since it was getting late and Tyler was close to melt-down mode.Darn, this picture came out blurry - but you can get an idea of how huge the fish were - this one was even bigger than Tyler!
And here's the video of the week - Tyler is super strong! He's getting more and more independent - and now likes to push our shopping carts! Of course, I only let him after I've wiped everything down with a disinfectant wipe! Go Tyler! Build those muscles!

Have a good week everyone!
