This past weekend Will and I took Tyler out for a walk around our neighborhood. Our secret motive was to get him to nap, but turns out he really had no intention of doing so. Usually a couple minutes or so into a stroll he's out cold, but this time he was super curious and just kept looking around. Will would peek in at him and Tyler would always have the same look as in: "nope, not asleep."
We passed a couple parks in our neighborhood and decided to put Tyler into one that had an infant swing. He seemed to enjoy it last time (now that I think of it, he didn't seem to dislike it last time...) but he was not having any of it this time. I think last time we had put him in one he was super bundled up so he felt really secure in the swing - this time it was just too loose. Are these swings meant for 2 infants? - is that why they have holes on both sides?
My parents and both of my grandmothers came over for dinner on Saturday, and they brought yummy Chinese food! Mmm. My grandmother was great and fed Tyler lots of baby food and yogurt. Tyler was so funny, when everyone was looking at him during dinner, he'd just stare back at everyone! He would seriously start from one end of the table, look at one person for a bit, then move on to the next, and so on. Here's my grandmother with Tyler.
Tyler also showed them how good he is at pushing his little walker thing now! He loves to push it, and is so much better at it. He's also getting really good at just balancing by himself. He does it all the time, and I'm always like omg! I don't know when he's going to start walking though, but he's probably close? no rush!
Here are my parents and grandmothers with Tyler. He was much friendlier this time with everyone!
Ooh, an exciting event is going on in our backyard. We are finally free of weeds thanks to our gardener (I swear, we had the tallest weeds in Irvine - last time we weeded was actually the day before Tyler was born. I think weeding actually induced my labor!) and are actually growing flowers! Here's a shot of our ranunculus - there were few different colors but somehow the yellow ones dominated. pikachu color!
Tyler is totally growing out of baby-hood. Looking at this photo, he seems like a little boy! I can't believe it! And next month he'll be turning one! GASP! Will and I have been talking about his 1st birthday party, but as usual, we are super procrastinators. Ugh! We have a date set, but that's about it. Look for an email save-the-date in the near future! We also got a visit from Tyler's little buddy Ethan! Ethan, who's 1 month younger than Tyler, is growing so fast too! They are so cute together, but totally opposite! Tyler is super hyper and Ethan is super chill!
And of course, here's Tyler's 47 week bear picture! Geez. just 5 more weeks until he's a full year! I wonder if we're going to stop with the bear photos by then...

tyler'll so be walking soon! cant wait to see him again!
Tyler, himself, might force us to stop with the bear pictures. It's already hard enough now to get that photo set up. As he gets more mobile, it might very well be impossible as he gets older!
I'm not sure which is funnier...the face he made after the first taste of yogurt, or the fact that one second later he reacts like,
"Oh well, it's still food. Give me the next bite!"
Haha. Too cute.
get ready for less and less napping!! it's such a contrast these days between a newborn and almost 3 year old!
