Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day everyone! Things have been going nicely here, our new nanny is working out great, and Tyler has been in a great mood! He's still not walking yet, but totally comfortable with cruising around. Sometimes I'll hold something a little farther out, to see if he'll let go of whatever he's holding onto and try to take a few steps. He's not interested though - he'll hold on with one hand, and try to reach r e a l l y far. Then he'll give up and crawl over.

Will's first official Father's Day!
Tyler made a present for daddy from daycare. Guess what it is?
It's a picture frame that he painted with his hands! Very cute idea, although definitely not a flattering photo of him! Upon closer inspection, we realized he was wearing someone else's shirt - it was a collared dress shirt way too big for him. I'm assuming his own shirt was either 1)covered in paint or 2)covered in drool. Regardless, yay, Happy Father's Day! (Not pictured in a previous post, an oven mitt that Tyler made for Mother's Day!).
We spent our Father's Day at a local park - it had a castle and tons of stuff to play on. Tyler was really feeling the slides again - not so much the swings (as usual). Will would take him on them, and Tyler would start smiling and jumping as soon as they got to the top! Too bad the slides were pretty hot though, I think Will may have gotten burned on his arm! Anything to bring joy to Tyler!
This slide was much taller...and the opening was much smaller too! Will said it felt like the slide was wobbling while he was up there...
Afterwards we hung out on a blanket on the grass. Tyler's new favorite snack are the little cheesy goldfish, he'd eat them all and then look at us for more. I tried giving him some of his normal Kix cereal but he wasn't interested. He seems much more picky/opinionated these days. He throws temper tantrums! I thought this photo was funny because of his expression, but also because you can see how thin his hair is!
Here's Tyler playing in the playground - the only part of it where I was comfortable letting him crawl around. I think these gyms will be so much more fun when he's walking! Anyway, Tyler likes to crawl through little areas - and he would crawl back and forth through this one!
Will and Tyler playing on the grass. It was really nice and relaxing out there before it got hot. All in all, a nice Father's Day that we got to spend together! Our task this past week? Babyproofing! Tyler is at that stage where he is curious about everything and knows exactly what he shouldn't be playing with. I made a bunch of lists and we were finally able to get most of it done this weekend! Cables were hidden or taped, outlet plugs were put in, and cabinet doors had latches installed. It was funny watching Tyler check these things out afterwards and be kind of frustrated since he couldn't play with them anymore! Here's Tyler helping Will install the cabinet latches.
11 month photos were this week as well! Geez! 11 months! Next month will be a more fancy photo shoot, but I still like the shots we got this time. Here are a couple shots I got with my camera of the proofs.
Probably pretty obvious, but Tyler's shirt says I love Daddy in Chinese. I bought it for him to wear on Father's Day! I always buy clothes a couple sizes larger for Tyler so he'll grow into them, but this one was way huge!
Tyler was so squirmy and all over the place that the photographer suggested putting him on a crate to see if he would sit still for a second. I was a little hesitant, but Tyler showed us that he could sit and balance on the box! He was kind of wobbly, but it was funny watching him. This shot totally caught a funny moment as he was sitting there...right before he toppled over.
I love this picture! He is so cute and smiley!
This past weekend we went to BJs for lunch. Who knew, but they were having a Father's Day promotion, and we got a free BJs pint glass that had Father's Day 2008 on it! Yay - a momento for our first Father's day! Tyler looks like he's studying the menu here, having a hard time deciding what to order...
Tyler is loving his new sippy cup - kind of a graduated version of his old sippy cup. He goes to town on this one, holding it all the way up and drinking the water in it. He's never really liked bottles, so hopefully he'll start drinking milk from this.
Tyler always has to be occupied when he's in his carseat or he gets upset. We had these bottles in our little red wagon that we pulled him around in and he insisted on holding on to them the whole way home. He gets really upset if you try to take them away.
Hehe, I got this shot today after he had woken up. He was so sleepy and creased all over his face! heehee.
49 week bear picture!
Hope everyone had a good Father's Day Weekend! Sorry, there is no video this week! My apologies for a quickie post, but things have been pretty hectic around here lately!

Happy Father's Day! The first one is always the most exciting, just like Mother's Day. Looks like you all spent the day well and had a great time.
