Hi Everyone! 51 weeks, oooh, one week until his 1st birthday! Yowza! Tyler started walking this past week - he had been taking little steps here and there, but he's now officially walking! It is so exciting - except now we're always on constant alert now since he's still quite wobbly. I figured I'd change things up a little this time, and start things off with a video - the first video we got of Tyler walking!
This past weekend was super exhausting - we had family in town and also a wedding to go. It was our first time really ever taking Tyler out at night, and even though he was a good baby that night, we totally paid for it the next day since he didn't sleep well that night and was super grumpy. Exhausting!
Anyway, my uncle from Taiwan was in town with his family, and he got to meet Tyler for the first time. A great example of how friendly Tyler is, even to strangers, he had no problem playing with his great Uncle! We headed up Saturday morning to my parents' place and hung out with the family all day. It was really nice since there were so many people around, that Tyler always had someone to play with. Will and I even got to take a nap (at different times though)! Here's Tyler with my parents in the backyard - he's always so interested in playing with their cat Berkeley. Tyler even got to pick a plum from one of my parents' many fruit trees! Later he found one on a coffee table and I caught him just as he took a big bite. He didn't seem to like it that much though - plum skin is sour! That evening we headed to San Gabriel for my cousin's wedding reception (they had already gotten married in the Bay Area last month). Tyler was a hit, and did pretty good, although he did get a little overwhelmed now and then when it got really noisy and loud. I dressed him up in this little dress shirt, tie, slacks and shoes. He was SO cute, the tie was definitely a hit - I actually bought that tie a few months ago on clearance and have just been waiting for an opportunity for him to wear it. Doesn't the bottom picture look like he's about to head to work with his little lunchbox? heehee.Tyler has people to see and places to go. Now that he's walking, he's always on the move. When we're out though, I tend to always hold his hands because I don't want him to decide to crawl and touch a dirty floor! Here's a shot from that night - Will, Kareen, Myself and Tyler, and my cousin Aileen! Congrats to the happy couple! :) Hm, I don't think we got a shot with her new hubby Tom... And some random pictures from this past week. Tyler likes to wrestle with Mojo - Mojo is a really good sport too. Now that he's walking, he'll push off of stuff and off he goes!Still loving those baby bottles. It's our secret weapon when he gets upset about having his diaper changed.Tyler is a member of Toys'R'Us Geoffrey's Birthday Club- we got a card in the mail with a gift card! We went this weekend, and Customer Service gave Tyler a balloon and paper crown (which he refused to wear) and announced on the intercom that it was Tyler's first birthday and if other customers saw him they should wish him happy birthday - which people did! It was really sweet. Here's Will and Tyler with Tyler's first balloon ever! I got this cute video of Tyler walking with his balloon - he liked to pull it down and watch it come down. So cute! This video and the next both have the option of 'watching in high quality' if you go to the YouTube link - I'd recommend it, it's much clearer!
Bonus video - Tyler has got rhythm - we've been noticing that he likes to bounce and raise his arms when he hears music. Definitely got that rhythm from daddy, not from me! Hopefully he'll get my musical talent! hehe.
Here's Tyler's 51 week photo! Have a good week everyone!
Yay! Tyler is so much more active now that he's walking! Sadly, you'll never get him to sit still longer than a brief moment. He's definitely not a lap baby like others we've seen in daycare.
