happy 43 weeks

Hey everyone! I have been ridiculously swamped at work lately, so I apologize for this hastily put together mostly-picture post. This past week seems to be quite a blur - all I remember is that... I worked a lot! Tyler had some fun firsts that we'll talk about throughout the post. I love this picture of Tyler - he looks so happy and innocent and excited. I love his buddha ears and double chin!Last week Tuesday was Earth Day - Happy Earth day everyone! For the special occasion, Tyler's daycare painted earths on paper plates. That was Tyler's hanging right above the sample one - I think they must have been showing his off! haha! This past weekend my friend/coworker Lara came by again (yay!) since we were carpooling to another coworker's wedding in LA. Tyler sure does love her! I was excited to go to the wedding because I got to wear dangly earrings... something I never get to do since Tyler always likes to pull them! We had a good time - it was a whole day affair - with the reception at 12pm (Catholic Mass, all in Spanish!) and the cocktail hour not starting until 4pm. Lara and I drove to downtown (which I honestly can't remember the last time I had been) and found a restaurant to hang out at (totally dead by the way). The most exciting part was driving pass the Disney Music Hall and seeing stuff set up to film a car scene for a movie. I saw the actors but didn't recognize any of them. Then on the way back to the reception my hand-held navigation died! - there was some panic but we managed to find our way back. whew! Here's a shot of the wedding cake! I'm bummed I didn't get a photo with the bride/groom, but we didn't stay that late since I wanted to get home to Tyler, and they had a reallllly long line for their money dance! Yesterday Will's parents, my parents, and my sister-in-law Michelle came by to visit Tyler. Tyler was his happy self, except that he wouldn't let anyone hold him. The moment anyone tried he would start to get really upset, but as soon as I held him he'd look back at the person that he was just crying at and give a huge smile. ... when does this separation anxiety go away?! Here's Tyler playing with his new toys from a couple weeks ago. He loves watching the balls pop out, getting the balls from the hole and trying to bite them! I'm just happy it plays a variety of songs so I don't go crazy. Another fun way for Tyler to enjoy his toy... My parents brought some roasted duck and dimsum, and crab cakes from their very recent Washington D.C. trip. Everything was very yummy! Tyler spends most of his time in his playpen these days - he's pretty happy in there - there's so much to see and do. Ooh! First time yesterday- Tyler learned to take the plastic stars on and off the pole of his toy! When he first did it, I was like - omg! It was so exciting to just sit there and watch him do it like 100x. It never gets old! Here's Will's mom, Tyler and Will commemorating the big moment. Yay Tyler! We also got in some baby soccer. Tyler squealed the whole time! And another big first from yesterday - Tyler had pineapple! Pineapple is something I never really considered giving Tyler - they can be so sour, right? Anyway, Will was eating some yesterday and Tyler was heading towards him so Will put the pineapple down - and this really upset Tyler! So we agreed to give him a taste and boy did he love it! He started out just sucking on a piece and getting all the juice out, and then started clamping down and biting little pieces off! Turns out he must really like pineapple - just like Will! A group shot before everyone left. There were definitely better photos where all the adults were looking at the camera, but this is my favorite since it looks like Tyler was smiling with us! As soon as we finished that picture Tyler was squirming out of my arms to get on the table so he could watch Mojo on the floor. Those two are so cute together - Mojo is totally fine with Tyler grabbing his fur and shrieking, and Tyler loves to be near Mojo and watch him! Some new restaurants this week - The Counter here in Irvine. Gee, a totally expensive burger! It was not bad, but I probably wouldn't go back. Check out the burger that I customized myself! Next stop? Macaroni grill!! - my 3rd time there ever! I felt like Macaroni, but didn't get any. :( Tyler now loves to play in the laundry basket - he likes to pull out all the folded clothes and throw things around! silly baby! :)

Video from this week - Tyler playing with a flashlight!

2nd video - wow - just a silly video of Tyler playing with the video camera. :)
