40 weeks - tyler at the pool!

Hi everyone! How is everyone doing! Tyler is 40 weeks today - and he has officially been outside and in the world for as long as he was inside my tummy baking! Yay! Plus he turned his official 9 months last Wednesday - April 9th - we're taking him to get his 9 month check up this Wednesday (our ped was out of town last week) - I'm very excited to see how much he has grown. I do think he has gotten skinnier though - but on his chubby frame, I doubt it will be a big difference. His face has thinned out a little though, now that he's crawling and cruising all over the place.

We are still continuing with our sleep training - yay for us being strong! Tyler has his on and off days - some nights we'll barely hear a peep out of him from 8pm-6am, and other nights he'll cry on and off. The hardest thing is when he's crying and repeating over and over "mamamamamamamamamamamama". I have to really refrain myself from going to get him. He's gotten really attached to his little lovey though - its a little stuffed lion head with a blanket named Roary. I'll try to get a picture of him with it next time. When he wakes up in the middle of the night and starts crawling around, he'll always look around for it and hug it. Good thing I have 3 of them... hope that's enough. Here's Tyler knocked out. :) We try to take at least one picture of Tyler a day, and that day we had forgotten so Will snuck in and got one of him sleeping.

we've remodeled Tyler's play area. He has a much larger enclosed area to play in now - and the best part is that I can relax in there as well and let him climb all over me and play with all his toys safely. It wasn't cheap - but totally worth it - no more trying to keep him from heading to the exit! What I like about this play area is 1) its much cuter and less of an eyesore than our previous fenced/prison like one and 2) it allows him to cruise around the sides! I've hooked different toys all around it so he just moves from one area to the next. It's also strategically placed so that one of the swinging doors is where the couch is, so you can still sit there comfortably. Plus since its two playcenters put together, he has two areas with buttons and mirrors! This past weekend was SO hot - it's been a while since we've turned on the air conditioning. Tyler got to hang out in shorts and no socks (very different for him since we always seem to have him bundled up). Aren't his little plaid shorts cute?

We took Tyler to take his 9 month photos that weekend. He was by far the most energetic and all-over-the-place he's ever been in all his photo sessions. Our photographer wasn't as outgoing and friendly as the other ones that we have had before, but he still got some good pictures. It's probably good that he didn't get a LOT of good pictures of we'd be forced to buy them all.

Here are some ghetto photos of the computer screen from his 9 month photos. This one I think is so funny since he's sitting so upright, sorry its blurry. Check out those giant buddha ears!

This one is reminiscent of a photo from a couple months ago. I think Tyler looks best in a white background. At least this time he has clothes on! :)
Here's one more. We also took a couple family shots, but they turned out pretty crappy - I think we only got one good one. We'll be sure to make sure we get good ones when Tyler turns one - maybe we'll go somewhere other than JC Penneys...
Since it was so ridiculously hot this weekend, we decided to take Tyler to our community pool down the street! They have one main swimming pool, a jacuzzi on one side, and a little 1 foot deep kiddie wading pool there. Here's Will pushing Tyler to our pool - I swear Tyler is NOT naked, he has on a diaper underneath. He looks like he thinks its pretty hot too, huh!
Tyler totally enjoyed the pool! He was a little nervous, I think, when we first put him in, but he warmed up real quick. I think it'll be even more fun when he's walking on his own (and less painful for Will's back). Here's some random shots from the pool excursion:

Monday night we got to meet up with our good friends Shirley and Jesse who were visiting from China. We went to Taiko (I had been really wanting sushi) and Tyler, as usual, was super well behaved! I was actually a bit hesitant to go since we weren't meeting until 7pm and Tyler is usually in bed before 8pm. But, once in a while is OK, right? he did great! Here's Shirley, me and a super-smiley Tyler, and Jesse.

What's a visit to that plaza without a stop at YogurtLand (which was totally packed by the way)? Tyler's banging his spoon here - I almost gave him some yogurt to try...but he's going to have to start with his baby yogurt first.
Sorry this post is so unpleasant visually - I'm on my work computer and the settings are off. I'll be back later tonight to add a video, so be sure to check back! Here's our 40 week bear picture. I think it was so hot he wasn't his usual squirmy self

Ooh...the pool looks so inviting! Yeah, it has been hot the past few days. It's only spring time, but already feels like summer! Stay cool this week!

Why are baby faces so serene when they're sleeping? Maybe I'm just biased.

Tyler liked the pool! He seemed to have a lot of fun. But after it all he was pretty tired probably because of the excitement and warm sun! I especially like him on his back relaxing in the water.

Gotta love the little bucket hats!
